The II Summit of the AzTU Alumni Association was held within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and the 75th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). First, the dear memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. Welcoming the graduates, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that the event was dedicated to both the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty” and the 75th anniversary of the university. The Rector said that the spirit of patriotism and the love of the Motherland of students have always been at the forefront at AzTU. AzTU students and graduates have always fought at the forefront in both the First Karabakh and the 44-day Patriotic Wars for the independence and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. At the same time, AzTU has given prominent figures who have made significant contributions to Azerbaijani science, including the country's industry and economy, over the past 75 years. Currently, AzTU graduates are working in various positions in state institutions and private companies, as well as in foreign countries. All this shows that AzTU is a higher education institution with rich scientific traditions, which treats its students with special attention and care. AzTU graduate, Deputy Director General of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute Madar Guliyev made a comprehensive presentation on the employment and career development of graduates during the one-year activity of the AzTU Alumni Association. AzTU graduate, Director General of the Institute of Information Technologies, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev, spoke about the importance of the engineering profession in the world during his speech. He noted that today there is a need for engineering personnel in all fields. He also noted that graduates should not be satisfied with the knowledge they learned during their university years, but should regularly take advantage of the opportunities of the higher education institution to master information related to engineering in accordance with the requirements of the modern era. AzTU graduate and employee Gunel Mammadli provided detailed information on the working principle and registration process of the AzTU Alumni Platform, which will be launched in the near future. Then a video clip about AzTU was shown. AzTU graduate, MP Mikhail Zabelin, in turn, thanked the university administration for organizing the II Summit of the Alumni Association. AzTU graduate Abil Aliyev, who worked as an associate professor at the university's Department of Electronic Computing in 1988-2003, spoke about his memories of his student years. Turkish graduates of AzTU, Ozcan Karavar, head of the Kar Tem Cleaning company, and Ertugrul Altıntash, co-founder of the Galata Medical and CTR Group CIS companies, said that they came to Azerbaijan from Turkey to participate in this event. They shared their memories of their student years. The event continued with a performance by Aynur Isgenderli and Kenan Gadimov, laureates of international competitions, soloists of the Separate Model Military Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense.

The closing ceremony of the international conference on "Sustainable Development Strategy: Global Trends, National Experiences and New Goals" was held at AzTU

The closing ceremony of the III international conference on “Sustainable Development Strategy: Global Trends, National Experiences and New Goals” was held, jointly organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Mingachevir State University (MSU), Gazi University of Turkey and “HBN Group”. At the closing ceremony held at AzTU, Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that organizing international conferences in this format in the regions is a commendable step. He thanked the MSU administration for organizing the conference at a high level. The Rector noted that as a result of this conference, universities should expand multidisciplinary relations and attach importance to the development of international relations. Speaking later, Executive Director of “HBN Group” Tariyel Dovletov spoke about the preparatory stage and results for the conference. He said that they would continue to participate in organizing events in this format together with universities. Professor Shahriyar Mukhtarov of Poland Vistula University and South Korea University expressed his confidence that the conference would contribute to sustainable development. He noted that the overall result of the reports discussed at the conference was aimed at strengthening the research potential of universities. Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs of Mingachevir State University, drew attention to the main challenges as a conclusion to the conference. She noted that the main challenges during the 3 days were strengthening regional and international cooperation, developing university research centers of state institutions, as well as university-industry cooperation, and further improving the use of artificial intelligence. After the speeches, the conference concluded its activity.

A conference on "Sustainable Development Strategy: Global Trends, National Experiences and New Goals" organized by AzTU is being held in Mingachevir

The III International Conference on “Sustainable Development Strategy: Global Trends, National Experience and New Goals” has begun its work within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” and is jointly organized by Mingachevir State University (MSU), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Gazi University of Turkey and “HBN Group”. The main goal of the conference is to present the results of scientific research conducted in relevant areas, taking into account the realities of the post-historical Victory achieved thanks to the determination of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev and the valor of the brave Azerbaijani army. The conference aims to create a scientific discussion platform on topics covering the tasks arising from the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”, approved by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 2, 2021, as well as the United Nations “Transforming our World: Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030”. The participants of the event first visited the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev. Then, an exhibition of startup projects prepared by students was viewed in the lobby of MSU. The opening ceremony of the conference began with a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands. Then the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. Welcoming the guests, the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power, Ilham Ismayilov, wished success to the work of the conference. MSU Rector Anar Eminov said that the event included more than 600 theses and articles by scientists and researchers from 19 countries of the world, as well as 24 higher education and research centers in Azerbaijan. The Rector noted that Mingachevir State University, as the main host of this international scientific conference, attaches special importance to the discussion of new knowledge and innovative approaches in line with global challenges. According to him, the concept of "Sustainable Development" has become one of the main directions in determining both national development strategies and future goals of higher education. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that the conference is an important platform for discussing global trends in the field of science, technology and innovation. The Rector noted that in modern times, changes related to artificial intelligence, green energy, cybersecurity, digitalization and the fourth industrial revolution affect all spheres of society. He stressed the importance of expanding inter-university cooperation in order for Azerbaijani universities to adapt to these changes. After the opening speeches, the conference continued with protocol speeches in accordance with the program. The three-day conference continues with breakout sessions. The closing ceremony of the conference will be held on December 8 at AzTU. The closing session is intended to highlight the results achieved during the conference and the prospects for future cooperation, and to adopt a final decision.

An external audit was conducted at the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology according to the ISO 21001:2018 standard

The next important stage in the transition to the “ISO 21001:2018 – Management System for Educational Institutions” standard was held at the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Yesim Dincher, Quality Manager and ISO 21001 Chief Auditor of the international certification company “STAREGISTER International Inc.”, and Shamo Muradov, Director of the INCERT certification company, carried out an external audit process at the faculty. Nurali Yusifbeyli, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of AzTU, who participated in the opening session of the audit, welcomed the guests and emphasized the importance of the transition to the ISO 21001 standard at the university. He noted that this process is an important step in terms of improving the quality of educational services, and that the application of other international standards is also envisaged in the next stages. During the day, the faculty’s management system, educational process, documentation standards and internal operating mechanisms were evaluated by the auditors.      At the closing session held at the end of the day, the auditors highly appreciated the work done. Chief Auditor Yesim Dincher noted that the management processes applied at the faculty comply with the requirements of the ISO 21001 standard and stated that the initial results of the audit were positive. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, who participated in the closing event, emphasized the importance of selecting the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology as a pilot in this process. The Rector said that the successful implementation of the standards makes a significant contribution to the management culture and quality of education of the faculty. He drew attention to the possibility of gradually implementing the ISO 21001 standard in other structures of the university at the next stage. Master classes of HRITDX employees were held at AzTU

In accordance with the memorandum of cooperation signed between the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCIS) and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), master classes are organized for AzTU students every semester. Within the framework of the memorandum, the next master class was dedicated to the topic of “Governance and Compliance Approach in Information Security”. Important points such as establishing information security management systems, risk management, formulation of security policies, international compliance requirements and development of security culture in organizations were presented to the participants. Students and faculty of the Cybersecurity Department of AzTU participated in the master class. The audience showed great interest in the topic, and numerous questions asked by the students led to interactive discussions. An international scientific conference on "Mechanical Engineering and Energy: New Concepts and Technologies" was held at AzTU

The III international scientific and practical conference “Mechanical Engineering and Energy: New Concepts and Technologies” dedicated to the 75th anniversary of AzTU, organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU GS) (Germany), Gazi University (Turkey) and NESEFF International Network for Energy Supply and Energy Efficiency (Germany), has begun its work. The purpose of the conference is to highlight the importance of environmental safety in the scientific, educational and research environment in order to ensure the sustainable development of the mechanical engineering and energy sectors, to increase the economic efficiency of infrastructure and to formulate new approaches that promote scientific and technological innovations in this direction. Welcoming the participants of the event, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that a total of 100 articles were submitted to the international scientific conference. The rector expressed his belief that the event, which was attended by 268 scientists and researchers from 41 educational institutions in 13 countries, would become a reliable cooperation platform for scientists and industry representatives, and that the conference would contribute to further strengthening ties between countries in the field of science and technology. A new Incubation Program has been launched at the AzTU Incubation Center

A new Incubation Program has been launched at the Incubation Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Practical trainings have been started with the participation of startup teams selected for the program and these trainings will be continued regularly. During the program, team members will gain knowledge and skills in project management, business model building, product development, and preparation for the investment environment. Within the framework of the trainings, real work will be done based on the tasks given to the students, the teams will practically develop their projects and further improve their ideas with the guidance of mentors. This process will strengthen the students' teamwork, analytical thinking, and application skills. Here, young people are also given the opportunity to present their projects to investors, mentors, and ecosystem representatives.
