The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus visited AzTU's "Engineer Development Program" workshop

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar visited the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) “Engineer Development Program” (EDP) workshop. It was noted that the EDP workshop was established within the framework of the cooperation between the Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAIC) and AzTU. At the workshop, President Ersin Tatar was also given detailed information about the defense-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) jointly developed by students of AzTU and the National Aviation Academy (NAA). It was noted that the UAV in question was developed as a result of the “AzTU-Turkish Aerospace, EDP 2023.1” highly qualified engineering training program implemented within the framework of the joint cooperation between AzTU, TAIC and NAA. The UAV has the function of distinguishing between enemy and friendly soldiers by the colors of their uniforms (berets). The UAV can carry out its mission by flying at an altitude of 50 meters. The total duration of the process is 14 minutes. During the flight, the enemy coordinates are automatically calculated by the program, the general basic data is analyzed and transmitted to the Ground Control Station. The flight is carried out by controlling the direction of the UAV according to the information displayed on the Ground Station Interface (GUI). President Ersin Tatar met with the students working in the workshop and wished them success.

The President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus visited the Library Information Center of AzTU

President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar visited the Library Information Center during his visit to Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Director of the Library Information Center Khayala Hajiyeva said that the center was established with the partnership of the Ministry of Science and Education, BP company and financial support of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Informing President Ersin Tatar about the opportunities created in the center, Khayala Hajiyeva noted that the two-story library serves 200 users at the same time. A repository has been created in the center, which meets international standards, ensuring the protection and use of scientific and cultural heritage, and a website has been developed where the library's electronic services are integrated. The center is equipped with the latest library security and self-service systems. Electronic kiosks allow readers to determine the availability of resources in the physical resource collection, and self-service technology ensures the free use of materials by users by logging into their accounts. In addition, the Library is equipped with printer and scanner equipment for users. It was also noted that the AzTU Library Information Center is the first library with a fully international infrastructure created in the country by local specialists.

The industrial internship of students studying in the industrial engineering specialty of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has ended at the Training and Development Department of Baku Shipyard. On June 30, 2025, the students successfully defended their industrial internship reports. In accordance with the results of the industrial internship, the Baku Shipyard Training and Development Department presented the students with certificates and gifts. AzTU representatives paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China

Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Orkhan Vatankhah, Head of the International Relations Department, paid a working visit to the People's Republic of China. The purpose of the visit was to establish cooperation between AzTU and higher education institutions of the People's Republic of China, and to implement joint activities in the field of research and education. During the visit, AzTU representatives held meetings at Sias University in Zhengzhou, China, Beijing Institute of Technology in Beijing, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, North China University of Energy, Ningbo Branch of the University of Nottingham in Ningbo, Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences in Shanghai, Shanghai University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in Nanjing. Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Orkhan Vatankhah, Head of the International Relations Department, provided extensive information about AzTU during the meetings. Discussions with representatives of Chinese universities focused on issues such as the implementation of bilateral educational and research projects, mutual teacher-student exchange, writing joint scientific articles, preparation of dual diploma programs, implementation of joint scientific supervisions, mutual participation of students in summer school programs, involvement of doctoral students in scientific research and internship programs. During the visit, the delegation also visited the Research and Innovation Center of Huawei in Beijing, the Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperaton Organization (GEIDCO) organization, and the CHINT Global company operating in Shanghai. During the meetings with the mentioned organizations, a detailed exchange of views was held on the involvement of AzTU students in international internship programs and the implementation of joint scientific research with organizations. At the Research and Innovation Center of Huawei, the delegation was informed about the company's advanced technological solutions and invented products. A delegation led by Li Qifang, Chairman of the International Education School of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, China, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The delegation included Li Xiaofeng, Deputy Dean of the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Hou Hong, Deputy Director of the Department of Academic Affairs, and Zhang Shuai, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs. "Graduation Day-2025" event held at AzTU

An event called “Graduation Day-2025” was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). First, the participants of the event laid flowers in front of the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the university lobby and expressed their respect for his memory. The “Graduation Day-2025” event began with a minute of silence in memory of the sons of the Motherland who gave their lives for the territorial integrity of the country and the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Then, a video clip dedicated to the 75th anniversary of AzTU was shown. Welcoming the guests, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that a total of more than 3,000 students graduated this year at bachelor's and master's levels and congratulated them. An online international conference entitled “Silk Road in the 21st Century: Modern Transport and Logistics Technologies” was held jointly organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Tashkent State Transport University and Istanbul Technical University (ITU). The conference began with opening speeches by ITU Vice-Rector Professor Lutfiye Durak Ata and AzTU Vice-Rector Dr. Rashad Aliyev. Azerbaijan Technical University Ranked in the Top 1000 of the “QS World University Rankings 2026” for the First Time

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has achieved a significant success on a global scale in higher education. For the first time, the university has been included in the QS World University Rankings 2026 and has been placed among the world’s top 1000 universities. AzTU ranked in the 851–900 range. This achievement reflects the systematic reforms carried out at AzTU in recent years and the improvement in the quality of its academic and scientific activities. The university’s targeted strategy, strengthening of scientific potential, promotion of innovative approaches, and the integration of education with industry have all contributed to AzTU’s recognition in this global ranking. It should be noted that the QS World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious and trusted university ranking systems in the world. Each year, thousands of universities are assessed based on various criteria. These criteria include academic reputation, research impact, employer reputation, faculty-to-student ratio, number of citations, and the proportion of international students and staff. The results which AzTU achieved in these areas demonstrate that the university has become a competitive academic and research institution in the global higher education arena. According to this year’s ranking results, Azerbaijan holds a leading position in the South Caucasus region.
