The Library Information Center, built to international standards, was inaugurated at AzTU

The opening ceremony of the Library Information Center, which was established at AzTU at the level of international standards with the partnership of the Ministry of Science and Education, BP company and financial support of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), was held. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, BP regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gary Jones, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, MP Fariz Ismayilzade, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev and other officials. After the symbolic ribbon cutting, Director of the Library Information Center Khayala Hajiyeva provided information about the opportunities created in the center. She said that the two-story library will serve 200 users at the same time. A repository has been created in the center, which meets international standards, ensuring the protection and use of scientific and cultural heritage, and a website has been developed where the library's electronic services are integrated. The center is equipped with RFID technology, the latest library security and self-service system. Electronic kiosks allow readers to determine the availability of resources in the physical resource collection, and self-service technology allows users to freely use materials by logging into their accounts. In addition, the library is equipped with printer and scanner equipment for users. After familiarizing themselves with the center, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev made a speech and said that it is impossible to imagine university life without a library and that libraries must adapt to modern requirements. He noted that the establishment of an international-level Library Information Center at AzTU is a great contribution to both education and students. BP, which always carries out social projects, not only invests in education with such activities, but also brings international experience to Azerbaijani education. A new director has been appointed to the Institute of Higher Education of AzTU

Aynura Ismayilova has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Prior to her appointment as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education, she served as the Director of the School of Lifelong Learning and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Statistics at AzTU. Aynura Ismayilova joined the AzTU team in 2021 as the Head of the Center for University-Industry Cooperation and Lifelong Learning. She began her career in 2004 at the Institute of Cybernetics (now Management) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. She then worked as a project manager in the Azerbaijani representative office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Economy’s joint project “Support to Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Economic Development for the Development of a Competitive Non-Oil Sector in Azerbaijan”, and later as a Department Head and Deputy Director at the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Reforms under the Ministry of Economy. Aynura Ismayilova, who has consistently worked in the field of project management, has been the coordinator and executor of international projects of various purposes and nature for over 15 years (funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), as well as the Ministry of Science and Education (ETN), Ministry of Economy (ME), and the project leader of the 3rd grant competition for young scientists and specialists (EIF/GAM-3-2014-6(21)) with the support of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2012-2021, she was represented in the working group on the preparation of legal and regulatory documents on the establishment of the Economic Cooperation Organization Research Center (ERC) in our country, and actively participated in the preparation of reports submitted to the Regional Planning Council of the ECO, as well as in cooperation with member countries. In 2016, he was awarded a “Gratitude” by the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan for his contribution to the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the OIC. In 2012, 2018 and 2025, he was awarded an International Exchange Scholarship at Shanghai Open University of the People's Republic of China, a Visiting Scholar at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Countries with Economic Transition (IAMO) in Germany with the financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and a Visiting Fellows at the Korean Institute for Foreign Economic Policy Research (KIEP Visiting Fellows). In total, since 2006, he has been a participant in about 40 scientific and scientific-technical events organized in foreign countries through various scholarship programs. During her time at AzTU, she actively participated in the continuation of the cooperation established with the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company (TUSAŞ) of the Republic of Turkey since 2022, and led the TUSAŞ-AzTU: “Highly Qualified Engineer Development Program, MGP”, “SKY Global” Exchange, “Industry-oriented graduation work - graduate projects, Lift UP” programs. She is also the coordinator of the “Preparation of Urban Mobility Plans” project implemented by AzTU. Aynura Ismayilova, a graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University at bachelor's and master's levels, defended her dissertation in econometrics and economic statistics in 2021 and received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, and holds an IPMA B-level certificate in project management. The super final round of the "Bebras" Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking competition was held at AzTU

The Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and “OzünÖyren” LLC jointly organized the super final round of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition at AzTU. About 100 students (grades 1-9) from different regions of the Republic participated in the competition. In this competition, the students’ algorithmic thinking and computer skills were tested and automatically evaluated. The competition was held through the bebras.az portal. Participants were given 45 minutes to answer the questions. Finally, the winners of the first three places in each age category of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition were determined. It should be noted that 17,564 students representing grades 1–10 of 376 secondary schools from 69 regions of Azerbaijan participated in the qualification stage of the competition, which was held in an online format in December 2024. As a result, 667 students qualified for the semi-final stage. 418 students participated in the semi-final stage held at AzTU on April 12, 2025, and 100 of them advanced to the final stage. In 2024, approximately 3,900,000 students from more than 80 countries around the world participated in the “Bebras” competition. It should be noted that this competition has been organized in Azerbaijan since 2014. Our country gained full member status at the international “Bebras” conference held in Seoul, South Korea, on May 11–15, 2025. The main goal of the competition is to increase students' interest in information technology and computer science through interactive and interesting questions.
