A meeting was held to expand cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and SOCAR. The meeting was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and university representatives, as well as SOCAR Deputy Vice President Ayten Farzaliyeva, Head of the Talent Management and Business Partnership Department Ulker Behbudova, SOCAR “Downstream Management” Human Resources and Business Partnership Manager Narmin Abdullayeva, and Head of the Recruitment Department of the Head Office Hamid Israfilov. Rector Vilayat Valiyev provided information on projects implemented at AzTU in recent years and work done within the framework of university-industry cooperation. The meeting discussed the areas of cooperation such as organizing students’ industrial experience at SOCAR enterprises, implementing joint scientific and research projects, exchanging experiences between teachers and specialists, as well as jointly organizing seminars and trainings. SOCAR Deputy Vice President Ayten Farzaliyeva provided information about the company's "Young Talents" program, as well as the opportunities created for universities. She also noted information about the internship programs that AzTU graduates have undergone at SOCAR and their subsequent employment rates. At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views was held between the parties on the signing of a memorandum of understanding to formalize mutual cooperation.

As part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) exchange program, Pascal Heyman, founder of Berlin Speaking and lecturer at Potsdam University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). As part of the visit, Pascal Heyman underwent a training called “Pitch Training” dedicated to the development of startup projects and strengthening presentation skills of young teachers. The training, organized by AzTU’s “SmartTech” Innovators Center, aimed to help participants present their innovative ideas, prepare effective pitches for products and projects, and increase their knowledge of the German startup ecosystem. During the training, organized in an interactive format, participants developed their public speaking, presentation, body language, and storytelling skills through both theoretical knowledge and practical tasks. During the sessions, students and teachers presented their startup ideas and received individual feedback and mentor support. At the end of the training, participants presented pitch presentations on their project ideas and received individual feedback and recommendations from a specialist.

An educational meeting with foreign students was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) within the framework of the project “Migration rules, medical accessibility and country promotion among foreign students studying in Azerbaijan”. Orkhan Vatankhah, Head of the International Relations Department of AzTU, made a speech and provided information about the innovations implemented in connection with the new academic year and the conditions created for foreign students. He emphasized the importance of meetings between State Migration Service (SMS) employees and foreign students. Vidadi Fatullayev, Chairman of the “Development of the Migration Field” Public Union, noted that the number of foreign students studying in the country has increased against the background of Azerbaijan’s growing international reputation and economic development. Speaking about the joint activities of higher education institutions and state agencies in this area, he expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the SMS and AzTU for supporting the organization of the event. Khayala Abbasova, Deputy Head of the Legal Support Department of the SMS, provided detailed information about migration legislation, rules for entering and leaving the country, temporary residence and registration procedures. He highlighted the importance of timely and correct implementation of these procedures. During the event, the questions raised by the students were answered by Tural Karimov, Chief Inspector of the Main Department of Migration Control of the State Migration Service, Aykhan Rzayev, Inspector of the Main Department of Analysis and Information Support of Migration Processes, and Ruslan Aghayev, Chief Inspector of the Main Department of Regulation of Migration Processes. The State Migration Service employees provided detailed explanations on the provisions of the migration legislation related to foreign students.

An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the people's poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The host of the event, jointly organized by the Department of Humanities of AzTU and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC), poet Jabrayil Ganbar, noted the importance of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated February 21, 2025 on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding representative of our national poetry Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh. He noted that on the basis of this Decree, a series of anniversary events for the poet are being held in all educational institutions and cultural centers of the country. AzTU Vice-Rector Rashad Aliyev noted that as a prominent representative of Azerbaijani poetry, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's work is a valuable contribution to Azerbaijani literature. Habib Mirzayev, the head of the Department of Humanities, stated that the heritage of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, rich in patriotic feelings, constitutes one of the bright pages of Azerbaijani poetry, noting that the poet, with his works of deep socio-political and poetic-philosophical content, expressed his boundless love for the Motherland, the nation, and his native language, and demonstrated his high sense of commitment to the consciousness of national independence, the ideology of Azerbaijaniism, and the ideals of the Turkic people. Also, in the difficult days of our republic, he demonstrated a courageous position in solving fateful issues from the point of high citizenship and true intellectualism, and thanks to this dedication, he won the deep sympathy of the people. In the artistic part of the event, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Gulyanag Mammadova gave a good mood to the participants of the event with her beloved musical numbers composed to the poems of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade. Then, AzTU graduate Farhad Rahimli, winner of the "Ben şarkı söylersem" music competition broadcast on the "TRT Music" channel, ADMIU student Jeyran Abbasli, AzTU students Alijan Aliyev, Lamiya Zahidova and Maksim Frolov performed songs written to the poet's words. Then, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's poetry samples "Akhı dünya törhanır...", "Gocalmır", "Bir salama deymadi", "Uşaklıq"; poems "Mugham", "Unutmaq isterem...", "Bayrag" were recited by reciter Jabrayil Ganbar, associate professor Habib Mirzayev, students Durna Hasanli, Fatih Emir Torun and Janpolad Guliyev. During the event, a video clip reflecting the life and work of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, including the views of the great leader Heydar Aliyev on the poet, was shown. Also, the poet's poems "Azerbaijan-Turkey" and "Torpaqdan pay olmaz!" were presented to the attention of the participants of the event by displaying their poems on the screen, performed by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the end of the event, a letter of appreciation was presented to the People's Artist Gulyanag Mammadova and the presenter - reciter, poet Jabrayil Ganbar on behalf of the AzTU leadership. The event concluded with the sounds of the song "Azerbaijan" composed to the words of the poet.

A training on the topic “She is not just a girl, she is an engineer” was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The training, organized by the Communication Department of AzTU, was attended by female students of the university. The purpose of the training is to increase girls’ interest in the field of engineering and promote gender equality. The trainer, second place winner of the World Robot Olympiad, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy of AzTU, Anabaji Amiraslanova, provided her students with important information on the role of women in engineering, success stories of women engineers in the world and Azerbaijan, statistics of women participating in STEM, startup opportunities for women, development of their leadership skills, and other areas. Then, the participants were divided into teams and held discussions around the topic.

An educational session on the struggle against corruption was held for employees at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) within the framework of the implementation of the “National Action Plan on Strengthening the Fight against Corruption” of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026. Mehti Namazov, an employee of the Communications Department, drew attention to the fact that the struggle against corruption is not only a legal issue, but also a moral responsibility. He said that a healthy management culture has been formed at AzTU and holding such educational events has become a tradition. Lawyer Shukufa Muradsoy informed the participants about corruption offenses, liability measures applied for such acts, the negative effects of corruption on social and economic life, factors that create conditions for corruption, the main directions of anti-corruption strategies implemented in our country and in international practice, etc. issues.

On October 20, a press conference on World Statistics Day and an award ceremony for the winners of the Statistical Olympiad were held at the State Statistical Committee. It was noted that a total of 3,355 students, including 198 students, participated in the Olympiad. Sema Geybaliyeva, a third-year student of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), showed successful results in the Olympiad. She was awarded for her analytical thinking and statistical knowledge.

The 1st forum of the Student Scientific Society (SSS) of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was held. Dean Leyla Mammadova brought to the attention of students the importance of the establishment of SSS and its future prospects. Then, the Chairwoman of the Student Scientific Society of AzTU, Sharafkhanim Aliyeva, spoke about the advantages of being a SSS member. Ulviyya Karimova, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs, Public Relations and Infrastructure of the Faculty, provided information about the structure of SSS, upcoming goals, and clubs operating under SSS. She called on students to be active under the motto of the SSS of the faculty, “Let's create the technology of the future together!” Yadigar Imamverdiyev, Head of the Cybersecurity Department, made a speech and wished the SSS members success. Then, a group of local and foreign students presented selected projects of SSS members.

The 5th anniversary of Azerbaijan International Exhibition on the Restoration, Reconstruction and Development of Karabakh (Rebuild Karabakh) was held at the Baku Expo Center. The main goal of the event is to support the restoration of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic regions, the renewal of socio-economic infrastructure in the region, the development of agriculture and other priority areas. At the stand presented by the Agrarian Innovation Center at the exhibition, the startups of Nihad Aliyev, a student of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Anar Mammadov and Omar Mammadzade, students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy  were exhibited. It should be noted that the “Rebuild Karabakh” exhibition, which will be held on October 14-16, plays an important platform in terms of involving the public and private sectors, as well as international partners, in the process of restoring Karabakh.

In order to unite the scientific and research potential in the field of defense and cybersecurity under a single strategic direction, eliminate duplication of research in these areas, bring modern trends and innovations into a single system, and strengthen state-industry-university cooperation, the Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity Research Cluster was established at AzTU. The newly created cluster will operate in the research areas of autonomous systems, unmanned platforms, artificial intelligence-based control systems, electromagnetic defense technologies, network and information security, artificial intelligence (AI)-based cyberattack detection, SCADA and industrial systems protection, "smart grid", "e-mobility", energy security and resilient infrastructure models, prediction of critical systems with Big Data and artificial intelligence, and risk reduction. This initiative aims to increase AzTU's contribution to the global development of scientific and technological progress in the country, support digital transformation processes, and strengthen the university's leading position in the national defense technology ecosystem. The cluster will organize its activities under the coordination of the Institute of Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity of AzTU as a platform that creates synergy in accordance with research needs in this field.
