The industrial practice of the senior year students of the Industrial Engineering program at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) at the Baku Shipbuilding Plant is successfully ongoing. To provide quality training for the students and familiarize them with modern production processes, the internship has been successfully organized based on a program created by the Training Center of the Baku Shipbuilding Plant in partnership with AzTU's Department of Machine Design and Industrial Technologies. During the internship program, students who are open to learning, proactive, innovative, and enthusiastic, and who successfully complete the industrial practice, will be selected and awarded certificates. Additionally, they will have the opportunity to work at the plant.

In Tashkent, an international scientific-practical conference on the topic 'Tolerance is the guarantee of peace, solidarity among citizens, and interethnic and interfaith stability' was held at the initiative of the Faculty of History of the Mirzo Ulugh Beg National University of Uzbekistan. Scholars from various countries participated in the conference dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the birth of the great Uzbek historian, Rakhbarkhon Murtazayeva. At the event, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented by Professor Eyyub Karimov from the Department of Humanities. His speech on the topic 'Multiculturalism and Tolerance: Issues and Perspectives in the Context of Dual Standards in International Relations' was met with great interest by the participants. The conference covered topics such as the efforts made in studying the history of Turkic states, the exchange of historical information between countries, the broadening of mutually beneficial cooperation, and other related matters.

Since March 2016, the Armenian Armed Forces had started increasing their attacks on the settlements along the frontline. In response to the provocations of the Armenian Armed Forces, on April 2, 2016, the Azerbaijani Army launched a swift counteroffensive operation, inflicting a heavy defeat on the enemy. As a result of our army’s decisive strikes, the enemy's personnel and military equipment were destroyed. Control over the roads in the Aghdara-Madagiz direction was secured. During the April battles, our army liberated more than 2,000 hectares of territory from the Fuzuli, Jabrayil, and Aghdara regions that had been under occupation. Additionally, thousands of hectares of land came under the full control of the Azerbaijani Army. During the four-day April battles, the Armenians’ constructed myth of their army's 'invincibility' was completely destroyed. These battles showed the world that Azerbaijan would never accept occupation, and they became the cornerstone of the glorious victory in the 44-day war. The April victory symbolized the fighting spirit of our soldiers and the unity between the army and the people. The officers and soldiers of our army showed exceptional valor and courage in those battles. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) graduates – Mahir Quliyev, Abdulmajid Akhundov, Mushfig Orucov, and Elvin Mirzayev – also made their mark in history with their acts of heroism during the April battles, reaching the ultimate sacrifice of martyrdom. AzTU proudly honors its students and graduates who ascended to the peak of martyrdom, and remembers their memory with deep respect. Professor Subhan Namazov, the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), has been on a business trip to Uludagh University (BUU) and Bursa Technical University (BTU) in Turkey. During the trip, Vice-Rector Subhan Namazov met with Professor Ferudun Yılmaz, the Rector of BUU. The rector, expressing interest in collaborating with AzTU, agreed on carrying out joint projects and launching joint doctoral programs in the fields offered at AzTU. At the conclusion of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between AzTU and BUU. During the visit, Vice-Rector Subhan Namazov held meetings at the Faculty of Engineering at BUU, toured the laboratory facilities, and had discussions with the heads of the departments. During the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between AzTU and BTU as well. In a meeting with Professor Beyhan Bayhan, the Vice-Rector of BTU, both universities discussed their similar educational and research activities and exchanged ideas on how to further develop their existing cooperation. Vice-Rector Subhan Namazov discussed the opportunities for carrying out doctoral programs in collaboration with BTU. BTU's Vice-Rector, Beyhan Bayhan, expressed his approval of the matter and endorsed the shared use of the material and technical resources. During his visit, Vice-Rector Subhan Namazov explored BTU's state-of-the-art Central Research Laboratory and discussed opportunities for collaboration. He also reviewed the material-technical infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories of the BTU departments that are compatible with AzTU. Furthermore, in-depth discussions were held with the department heads regarding potential joint efforts, and an agreement was made on the possibility of comprehensive cooperation.

Professor Nizami Yusubov, the head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), has been on a business trip to Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus–Senftenberg (BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg) in Germany. The purpose was to expand research collaboration with BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg, discuss the results of joint scientific research work, review the research activities of PhD students, as well as the publication of the results of joint research in the field of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, and Energy Systems Faculty of BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg in high-quartile journals together with AzTU, and to discuss other collaboration issues. Professor Nizami Yusubov met with Professor Wolfram Berger, the Vice President for Internationalization at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg, Professor Sylvio Simon, the head of the Machine Tools Department at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, and Energy Systems, as well as Azerbaijani master's and doctoral students, and researchers studying at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg. During the meeting, Professor Wolfram Berger thanked the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, for 15 years of cooperation. It was emphasized during the meeting that BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg is interested in continuing its effective collaboration with AzTU in the future. Professor Wolfram Berger confirmed their participation in the organization of the III International Scientific-Practical Conference titled 'Mechanical Engineering and Energy: New Concepts and Technologies, which will be held at AzTU on December 4-5, 2025, and proposed that the next IV conference in 2027 be held at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg. During his visit, Professor Nizami Yusubov took part as a scientific advisor in the initial discussion of Samir Amirli's dissertation at the Department of Machine Tools at BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg. Samir, a doctoral student from AzTU's Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, is working on his dissertation titled 'Improving the Quality of Hard-to-Process Parts Using Hydroabrasive Machining' to earn a PhD in Engineering Sciences in the field of 'Mechanical Engineering Technology. Based on the outcome of the initial discussion, it was advised that the dissertation be submitted to the relevant Dissertation Council for defense to obtain a PhD in Engineering in the field of 'Mechanical Engineering Technology' (3313.01). Because the dissertation was conducted at two universities, the next preliminary discussion is scheduled to take place at AzTU.

The rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Vilayat Valiyev, and representatives of the university visited the 'Turkish Martyrdom' monument in Shamakhi in connection with March 31 – Azerbaijani Genocide Day. The cherished memory of 1,130 heroic Turkish soldiers who ascended to martyrdom during the military operations carried out by the Ottoman forces for the liberation of Baku in 1918 was honored. Khayala Hajiyeva, the Director of the Library and Information Center (KIM) at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), has been appointed as the editor for Azerbaijan of the DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), a renowned global database for academic open-access journals. DOAJ is a major international platform that indexes all open-access journals worldwide, with a requirement that the journals listed must meet international publication standards. As part of the editorial activities of the AzTU employee, it is planned to organize training sessions and webinars for editors to evaluate journals from Azerbaijan and align them with international standards. The goal is to advance the development of academic journals in Azerbaijan and enhance the culture of academic writing to a higher level.

An official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Dithari Technologies to establish the DISC Innovation and Sustainability Lab. The signing ceremony took place at AzTU’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Corner, and this cooperation is considered an important step towards the development of circular IT practices and the promotion of sustainability in technology. The establishment of the new lab aims to contribute to strengthening innovation and environmental responsibility in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular SDG 12 — the principle of responsible consumption and production. As a leading company in the field of circular IT, Dithari Technologies supports the reduction of e-waste and the development of sustainable IT solutions through this initiative. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the importance of this collaboration and said: “This initiative is an important step towards integrating sustainability with technological innovation. The DISC Innovation and Sustainability Lab will provide students with practical skills in the field of sustainable IT and will cultivate a generation of environmentally responsible innovators.” A representative of Dithari Technologies added: “Our main goal is to achieve e-waste reduction and create a long-term impact by promoting circular IT solutions. By collaborating with AzTU, we will further develop innovation and sustainability by combining our knowledge and experience with the academic potential of the university.” The main goal of the DISC Innovation and Sustainability Lab is to promote circular IT practices, manage e-waste, and instill innovation skills in students. The lab also aims to create a sustainable framework for recycling and refurbishing IT equipment. AzTU will provide modern infrastructure and space for the laboratory, encourage active participation of students in projects, and provide administrative support. The establishment of the DISC Innovation and Sustainability Laboratory reflects a modern educational approach that combines technology, sustainability, and innovation to prepare students for the changing demands of the global economy.

An event called "Novruz Song" was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) jointly organized by the Trade Union Committee (TUC), the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC), and the Student Youth Organization. Firstly, stands of faculties and student organizations were displayed on the occasion of the Novruz holiday. Expressing his congratulations on the occasion of Novruz, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the history of this beloved national holiday and its symbol of national unity and solidarity. He emphasized that organizing such national holidays and celebrations also instills in the younger generation a commitment to national traditions. The rector also spoke about the successes of AzTU in recent years and the projects implemented at the university to train modern engineering personnel. Later, letters of appreciation were presented to students who demonstrated activity in the university's public life. After the official part, the event continued with a concert program.
