Presentation of stents developed based on artificial intelligence technologies used in brain surgery held at AzTU

A scientific-practical event on the topic "Application of biomedical systems equipped with artificial intelligence technologies in brain surgeries" was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). This event is an important step towards promoting innovation and establishing advanced technological infrastructure within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. At the event, discussions were held on the role of artificial intelligence technologies in modern neuroradiological interventions, the optimization of clinical decision-making processes, and future directions for the development of biomedical engineering. During the discussions, the need to strengthen university-industry cooperation and accelerate the transfer of knowledge and technology was emphasized. Scientific and technological projects that the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of AzTU could jointly implement with Germany were also discussed. This international cooperation serves the creation of competitive infrastructure in the country and integration into the global innovation ecosystem. The parties reached an agreement on joint activities for the development of innovative systems equipped with artificial intelligence technologies in brain surgeries and their integration into clinical practice. This agreement will stimulate the realization of the sustainable industrialization process in the medical field as well and the expansion of local technological capabilities. It was especially emphasized that this cooperation will not be limited to theoretical research but will aim to produce significant innovations that respond to real clinical needs. Thus, a foundation will be laid for the commercialization of applied research and the production of high-tech products. German professors stated that they will regularly visit AzTU in the future and are ready to supervise the research on-site and work directly with young researchers. This direct mentorship will make a significant contribution to the formation of a skilled workforce and the strengthening of the country's engineering potential. During the workshop held as part of the event, new types of stents used in brain surgery were presented. These stents reduce the risk of thrombosis and adapt easily to the vessel. These stents are the result of advanced material technologies and design solutions developed with artificial intelligence. The workshop demonstrated the application of the new type of stents on an artificial model, which indicates the level of development of research infrastructure. It should be noted that the event is assessed as an important step in terms of deepening Azerbaijani-German scientific cooperation and the formation of international-level innovations in the field of biomedical engineering and brain surgery in our country.
