An international seminar and expert panel discussion entitled “Intra-urban mobility and sustainable mobility: Towards WUF13” was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by Nijat Mammadli, Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education, Professor Ümit Kocabıçak, Chairman of the Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey (YÖKAK), Rectors of universities in Turkey and Uzbekistan, a professor from a Kazakh university, as well as representatives of 44 city and district executive authorities who are partners in the “Development of an intra-urban mobility plan” project. The event was organized in connection with the holding of the 13th session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) in our country. The goal is to directly contribute to the development of intra-urban mobility plans, strengthening sustainable urban policies, and expanding scientific and research activities in higher education institutions in the context of holding WUF13 in our country. The United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13) is the world's largest international platform on urban planning and sustainable urban development, organized by the United Nations Habitat for Sustainable Development (UN-Habitat). The forum aims to share global experiences on improving the quality of life in cities, sustainable mobility, green infrastructure, digital transformation and urban policies. One of the research studies contributing to this forum was carried out at AzTU. In 2022–2025, AzTU provided advisory services within the framework of the “Development of an Intra-Urban Mobility Plan” project together with the executive authorities of 44 partner cities and regions (Ganja, Sumgayit, Goygol, Shamkir, Agjabedi, Naftalan, Khachmaz, Tovuz, Yevlakh, Masalli, Bilasuvar, Mingachevir, Gusar, Shirvan, Guba, Goychay, Sheki, Lankaran, Balakan, Oguz, Hajigabul, Gobustan, Neftchala, Agstafa, Gakh, Lerik, Jalilabad (Goytepe), Agdash, Gazakh, Imishli, Dashkesan, Gabala, Samukh, Gadabay, Zagatala, Saatli, Goranboy, Salyan, Barda, Zardab, Siyazan, Tartar, Agsu, Shamakhi). In their opening remarks, AzTU Rector Professor Vilayat Valiyev, Advisor to the Minister of Science and Education Nicat Mammadli, Chairman of the Higher Education Quality Council of Turkey (YÖKAK) Professor Ümit Kocabıçak, Sakarya University Rector Professor Hamza Al, Çankaya University Rector Professor Hadi Hakan Maraş, and Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA) Automobile Transport Infrastructure and Expertise Department Director Mirhamid Bagirov spoke about the importance of the event. It was noted that the issues discussed at the event will contribute to the development of intra-urban mobility and strengthening of urbanization policy. Then, a panel discussion was held on the topic of intra-urban mobility and sustainable development. Professor Fuad Dashdemirov, Director of the Institute of Logistics and Transport of AzTU, delivered reports on “Intra-urban mobility plan: results, challenges and sustainable perspectives in the context of public transport, micro- and macromobility, in the context of WUF13”, Professor Mesut Duzgun, Head of the Department of Automotive Engineering of Gazi University, “Development of electric vehicles and necessary aspects of personnel training in the field”, Professor Daurenbek Ilesaliev, Rector of Tashkent Perfect University of Uzbekistan, “Modern transport model of the city of Gulustan: analysis, modeling and design solutions”, and Oyum Balabayev, Professor of the Department of Industrial Transport of Karaganda Technical University of Kazakhstan, “Monitoring of transport mobility in the Karaganda agglomeration region”.

The new season of the Student Basketball League kicked off at the Baku Sports Palace on November 28. The first game was played between the team of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the team of Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University (ASOIU). In a closely fought match, the AzTU Basketball Club won with a score of 113–56.

A cooperation agreement has been signed between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Sakarya University and Kyrenia University in Turkey. According to the agreement, the universities will cooperate in student-teacher exchange in relevant fields, joint research, and other areas.

A student excursion to the Yusif Mammadaliyev Memorial Museum of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes was organized by the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Student Youth Organization (TGT) within the framework of the 120th anniversary of academician Yusif Mammadaliyev. As part of the excursion, students visited the two main exhibition rooms of the museum. Here, detailed information was provided about the life path of academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, his scientific activities, the fundamental scientific school he created in the field of petrochemicals, his achievements, personal archive materials, photos, work equipment he used and other valuable exhibits. Students were given a detailed explanation of the important role the scientist played in the development of Azerbaijani science, his contributions to world chemical science and the fact that his ideas still retain their relevance in modern chemical processes. In the continuation of the excursion, students watched a documentary film dedicated to the activities of Yusif Mammadaliyev. Students also got acquainted with rare archival documents displayed in the museum.

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCSIS) held another competition in the field of cybersecurity within the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year to assess the knowledge and skills of students studying at the bachelor's and master's levels at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). According to the final results, Rahimli Mahmud Samad oglu and Verdizade Omar Rufat oglu, 3rd-year students studying in the information security specialty of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, as well as Shukurlu Aydin Elbeyi oglu, who is studying in the security of state information systems at the master's level at the Institute of Higher Education of AzTU, were declared winners with special distinction. The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of the SCSIS, Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, Rector of AzTU, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and other representatives. During the speeches, the importance of the existing cooperation between state agencies and higher education institutions was highlighted, and it was emphasized that training young specialists in cybersecurity is one of the strategic priorities for the state. It was noted that within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the XRITDX and AzTU on November 5, 2022, competitions are regularly held for AzTU students and the winning students are awarded, and conditions are created for students studying in the field of information security to participate in events within the framework of the practical training program. The events carried out are of great importance in transforming students' theoretical knowledge into practical skills and strengthening the human resource potential of the cybersecurity field in the country. Then, the representatives of XRITDX got acquainted with the modern educational infrastructure of AzTU, as well as laboratories created with the support of the Service, updated classrooms for communication and telecommunications, as well as innovative learning environments and advanced educational technologies applied.

A training on the topic “The impact of financial literacy on career success” was held at the joint initiative of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Career and Employment Center and AccessBank. The goal was to strengthen students’ personal financial management skills, shape their financial behavior correctly, and explain the role of financial decisions in future career development. The training, organized by students of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management, was delivered to the attention of students by Khumar Huseynova, Head of the Education and Development Department of AccessBank, and Ilhama Rustamli, Head of the Business Partnership Department. During the training, students also had the opportunity to deeply understand the importance of financial literacy in everyday life and professional development based on real-life examples, various practical tasks, and interactive discussions. At the end, students’ questions were answered.

A scientific article co-authored by Professor Nuran Abdullayev, Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Doctor of Medical Sciences, on the application of artificial intelligence in the field of medicine has been published in the journal “European Journal of Radiology Artificial Intelligence”. The journal “European Journal of Radiology Artificial Intelligence” is one of the leading scientific publications covering advances in artificial intelligence in clinical radiology and brings the latest innovations in the field of medicine to the attention of readers. The scientific journal, whose profile is mainly applications of artificial intelligence in clinical radiology, is a relevant database for both clinicians and engineers. The article discusses the unbiased use of artificial intelligence in medical imaging, radiology and clinical decision-making processes, as well as its adaptation to European standards. The publication of the name of AzTU as a science center in such a prestigious journal for the first time is a significant achievement for Azerbaijani science.

The “ZAFER” team, led by Sarvan Aziz, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Doctor of Philosophy in National Security and Military Sciences, has won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2025 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project - Graduate Projects” competition announced by the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Company (TUSAŞ) within the framework of the 2025-2026 academic year. The “ZAFER” team, represented by a total of 5 students from AzTU, will carry out the project work on the topic of “Optimization of polishing parameters of bevel gears”. The industrial consultant of the project, which is implemented with the support of TUSAŞ, is Bahadir Kartal. The captain of the “ZAFER” team is Rufat Dadashzadeh, a 4th-year student in Instrument Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy, and the team members are Aysel Muradova, Nasib Abdullayev, Fatima Mahmudova and Narmin Karimli. It should be noted that teams consisting of students of Azerbaijan Technical University have been participating in this competition since the 2023/2024 academic year. AzTU's cooperation with TUSAŞ has been established since 2022. The "TUSAŞ Lift Up Industry-Oriented Graduation Project - Graduate Projects" competition provides the participation of AzTU undergraduate engineering students by forming teams. The coordination of the project work is carried out by AzTU's School of Lifelong Learning.

The closing ceremony of the “Victory Tournament” organized by the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day and the 75th anniversary of the university was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). First, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. Congratulating the winners, AzTU Vice-Rector Rashad Aliyev said that the “Victory Tournament” is one of the important events that both celebrate the historical significance of Victory Day and contribute to the 75th anniversary of AzTU. He especially noted the successes of AzTU students in international and local competitions in sports. He noted that the promotion of a healthy lifestyle is always in the spotlight at AzTU. Then an award ceremony was held. It should be noted that more than 200 first-year students competed in 6 sports in the tournament. Competitions were organized in football, volleyball, table tennis, checkers, chess and basketball. Students from the Turkey-Azerbaijan University also participated in the tournament.

A seminar on "Risk and Compliance" was organized by the SABAH Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the seminar, Ali Mammadzadeh, Head of the Cyber ​​Threats Department of AKTA, brought important information to the attention of students on risk assessment, compliance culture, and cyber threat management. Questions of interest to students were answered during the interactive seminar.
