February 21 is celebrated as International Mother Language Day in the world. On this occasion, a literary and artistic event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the event, jointly organized by the Department of Humanities of AzTU and the Student Trade Union Committee, the Vice-Rector of the university, Rashad Aliyev, emphasized the role of the mother tongue in enriching the spiritual world of a person, expanding his worldview, and obtaining an excellent education.
Then, the Head of the Department of Humanities Habib Mirzayev and the employee of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS Ayten Gurbanova made speeches and noted that the mother tongue is the most important tool in the formation of a human personality. In this regard, the protection of our mother tongue and its further development is the sacred duty of every citizen. The comprehensive development of the Azerbaijani mother tongue and its entry into the system of international relations are the result of the thoughtful policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev aimed at protecting our language. Currently, President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing these traditions.
President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the 80th anniversary meeting of ANAS was a clear example of the attention he paid to the protection of national and spiritual values in the language policy of the Azerbaijani state, ensuring the purity and development of the language.
After the speeches, the event continued with an artistic part.
