On February 25, the official opening ceremony of the “Water Treatment and Management” Laboratory was held under the Department of Chemical Technology, Recycling and Ecology at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev; representatives of “Aqualink” LLC; Zaur Musayev, Head of the Administrative Affairs Division of the Human Resources and Administrative Affairs Department; Paul Girdis, Senior Account Manager for the Middle East, Central Asia and Southeast Europe at Elsevier; as well as other university officials. In his speech at the ceremony, Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the strategic importance of efficient water resource management, improving water quality, and expanding scientific research activities in this field. It was noted that the primary objective of the laboratory is to enhance water treatment technologies, reduce pollution, ensure environmental safety, and develop science-based solutions in this area. Within this framework, contributing to the provision of safe and accessible water resources has been identified as a key priority. The laboratory has been equipped with modern scientific equipment and will support the development of students’ practical knowledge and skills, strengthen research capacity, and train highly qualified specialists. The goal in this direction is to promote quality and inclusive education, implement innovative approaches, and reinforce scientific infrastructure through university–industry collaboration. In his remarks, Zaur Musayev, representing “Aqualink” LLC, noted that cooperation with the university is ongoing and emphasized that expanding joint initiatives will yield significant results in the fields of water resource management and environmental sustainability. Thus, the newly established laboratory will function as an important scientific platform contributing to the achievement of objectives related to water security, the development of quality education, the strengthening of innovation and scientific infrastructure, and the expansion of institutional partnerships.

The mobile operator "Nar," known for its affordable services and sustainable social projects, has determined the directions of activity for professional personnel training together with its partner, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). This cooperation directly serves the development of university-industry cooperation within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure and contributes to the process of sustainable industrialization in the country. At the meeting held with the participation of AzTU Rector Professor Vilayat Valiyev and "Nar" CEO Ozgur Genc, the importance of the partnership, which has lasted for more than 10 years, for the future careers of students was emphasized. After the meeting, Ozgur Genc inspected the "Nar" laboratory organized for students at the university. This laboratory, equipped with mobile communication devices, is a vivid example of the establishment of modern technological infrastructure and allows students to create local mobile networks and learn the working principles of mobile communication through practice. Such laboratories are of great importance in terms of promoting innovation and expanding the technological capabilities of young people. Apart from technical support, "Nar" regularly organizes training sessions to enhance the theoretical knowledge of AzTU students. These trainings provide students studying in technical specialties with information about the current demands of the labor market and prepare them for future professional life. Consequently, this initiative, along with contributing to the formation of a skilled workforce and the country's economic development, plays an important role in creating competitive infrastructure. The opening ceremony of the "FinTech" laboratory (Fintech Lab) was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in partnership with the Azerbaijan Fintech Association (AzFina). The opening ceremony was attended by the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev; the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, Vusal Khalilov; the Head of the Department for Regulation of Payment Services and Payment Systems at the Central Bank, Khayaladdin Taghiyev; the Chairman of the Board of AzFina, Edgar Abdullayev; and representatives of the university. It was noted that the "FinTech Lab" aims to instill practical knowledge in financial technologies in students, train qualified specialists currently needed in the financial technologies market, implement joint projects with payment organizations and electronic money organizations operating in the payment services sector, and support increasing financial literacy in the country. Speaking at the event, the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, highly appreciated this collaboration established with AzFina. He noted that this partnership would be beneficial for the development of university-industry cooperation, as well as for training personnel in line with the demands of the labor market. Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank, Vusal Khalilov, expressed his satisfaction with participating in this event as the regulator of the financial technologies field. He provided information about the current situation and innovations in the field of financial technologies in our country. Vusal Khalilov stated that at the meeting held on February 11 under the chairmanship of President Ilham Aliyev, the development of digitalization and artificial intelligence was identified as a priority direction, which is also an important development for the financial technologies sector. The Deputy Chairman expressed his confidence that the newly opened laboratory would contribute to increasing the sustainability of the sector by supporting both specialist training and the expansion of financial literacy. Khayaladdin Taghiyev, Head of the Department for Regulation of Payment Services and Payment Systems at the Central Bank, provided information about the working principles and directions of activity of the laboratory. He also noted that training specialists in line with the financial literacy strategy implemented by the Central Bank would help reduce the existing personnel shortage in the field of financial technologies. Chairman of the Board of AzFina, Edgar Abdullayev, expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with AzTU and specifically emphasized the importance of this laboratory in the direction of students developing into professional specialists. Three organizations selected by AzFina – the payment and electronic money organizations "United Payment," "Global Innovations," and "BakuPay" – will serve as mentors in information technology at the laboratory. Additionally, necessary support will be provided by the Central Bank and AzFina in the formation of potential personnel in the field of economics. It is planned that organizations will offer job opportunities to laboratory participants who are successful during their training.  This initiative directly contributes to Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. By establishing crucial technological infrastructure, promoting innovation, and supporting sustainable industrialization through university-industry cooperation, the "FinTech Lab" serves the country's economic development.

Cooperation between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Mingachevir State University (MSU) is expanding. The meeting held at AzTU in this regard was attended by Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Vice-Rectors, as well as MSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Natavan Namazova. The meeting exchanged views on the implementation of dual diploma programs, joint scientific research, organization of joint conferences, and student-teacher exchange between the universities.

An info session on Bilkent University in Turkiye was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Professor Ozgur Kıbrıs, Dean of the Faculty of Management at Bilkent University, made a comprehensive presentation on the work done at the university he represents, the innovations implemented, and modern approaches. The event continued with a question-and-answer session.

In order to strengthen the scientific research potential of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and expand the scientific research capabilities of the teaching staff, effectively use and properly realize their scientific potential, the project of partner professor (researcher) "Twin researcher" will be implemented within the framework of rational cooperation with leading foreign universities, research centers and labor market representatives with whom AzTU cooperates. The decision in this regard was made at the meeting of the Scientific Council of AzTU. It was noted that the main activity in the implementation of the project is to support industrially significant, applied research work and to form a network of researchers that respond to modern challenges.            The meeting also approved a draft unified regulation on institutional structure and academic activity.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) students Nuray Mustafazadeh and Jahid Dosiyev have become the winners of the 5th scholarship program announced by “AzerGold” CJSC for students in the 2025-2026 academic year. It should be noted that 9 students studying in geology, mining engineering, ecology, metallurgy from higher education institutions and 15 students from vocational education institutions have become the winners of the “AzerGold” scholarship for the 2025-2026 academic year. Within the framework of the program, a monthly scholarship will be paid to each of the winners in order to support the social protection of students. The winners will have the opportunity to undergo internships in the company's production areas, strengthen their practical skills by applying their theoretical knowledge in a real work environment. All necessary organizational and methodological conditions will be provided for their future career development.

February 21 is celebrated as International Mother Language Day in the world. On this occasion, a literary and artistic event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the event, jointly organized by the Department of Humanities of AzTU and the Student Trade Union Committee, the Vice-Rector of the university, Rashad Aliyev, emphasized the role of the mother tongue in enriching the spiritual world of a person, expanding his worldview, and obtaining an excellent education. Then, the Head of the Department of Humanities Habib Mirzayev and the employee of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS Ayten Gurbanova made speeches and noted that the mother tongue is the most important tool in the formation of a human personality. In this regard, the protection of our mother tongue and its further development is the sacred duty of every citizen. The comprehensive development of the Azerbaijani mother tongue and its entry into the system of international relations are the result of the thoughtful policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev aimed at protecting our language. Currently, President Ilham Aliyev is successfully continuing these traditions. President Ilham Aliyev's speech at the 80th anniversary meeting of ANAS was a clear example of the attention he paid to the protection of national and spiritual values ​​in the language policy of the Azerbaijani state, ensuring the purity and development of the language. After the speeches, the event continued with an artistic part.

An educational event on the topic "Organization of management of civil defense bodies and forces during the elimination of the consequences of emergency events" was held for employees at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event provided information on the organization of management during the elimination of the consequences of emergency events, civil defense of the population during natural disasters, and other issues. The event then continued with a question-and-answer session.

The 4th Agrarian Startups and Innovation Forum was held jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences of ADA University. The forum, held at the Italian-Azerbaijani University under ADA University, was attended by the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev and startup students of the university. The exhibition organized within the framework of the forum showcased innovative solutions and technology examples of AzTU students Nihad Aliyev, Mansuma Garayeva, Anar Mammadov, Omar Mammadzadeh and Anabaji Amiraslanova. It should be noted that the 4th Agrarian Startups and Innovation Forum plays an important platform in terms of strengthening the agrarian innovation ecosystem, expanding the market access opportunities of startups, establishing cooperation with investors and promoting the practical application of scientific knowledge.
