Within the framework of the cooperation between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (PKTU) of the People's Republic of China, a group of doctoral students from PKTU visited AzTU as part of an exchange program. Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the Chinese students about the activities of AzTU. Then, the doctoral students made presentations about their research and discussions were held around the research topics. During the visit, the students got acquainted with the educational and research infrastructure of AzTU. PKTU representatives and doctoral students exchanged views on the possibilities of continuing their research with AzTU in the future.

The opening ceremony of the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Development and Innovations: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” was held at Nakhchivan State University. First, the dear memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who gave their lives for the independence and sovereignty of our Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. The conference was held in a hybrid format with the joint organization of Nakhchivan State University (NDU), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Mingachevir State University (MSU), Tashkent State Technical University of Uzbekistan, Asia Pacific University of Malaysia, and the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan (NUST), with the participation of a number of foreign and republican universities. The main objectives of the two-day conference are to present the latest research and technological innovations in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and to demonstrate real-world application examples in various fields. The conference also aims to explore key issues such as data quality, model explainability, and scalability, and to promote cooperation between academia, industry, and government to support development in the era of artificial intelligence. Delivering his opening speech, NSU Rector Elbrus Isayev called the conference an important international forum that brings together researchers, field experts, and scientists in the field of artificial intelligence, which is relevant and needs to be discussed. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized that the conference, which included about 200 articles from 13 countries, is dedicated to a topic of global importance. At the initial stage, 135 articles were selected, and these articles will be published on various international scientific platforms after evaluation. Vilayat Valiyev said that the conference has participants from a wide geography and the successful organization of the event requires great responsibility and professionalism. In this sense, the hosting of such an important event by Nakhchivan State University is commendable. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are not only improving automation and decision-making processes, but also changing the way people interact with data, systems, and each other. The rector said that the conference, which brings together important academic assessments, is a very important platform that allows new initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence to emerge. Nedim Sozbir, rector of Duzce University, expressed his satisfaction with participating in the conference and expressed his confidence that important ideas will be shared here, discussing problems, and promoting important innovations. Anar Eminov, rector of MSU, emphasized in his speech that Nakhchivan State University is one of the exemplary higher education institutions in the country in raising awareness about artificial intelligence, and said that the conference is a very important event in terms of sharing the knowledge and experience of researchers and laying the foundation for new research directions. He said that the presented articles will be a fundamental source in terms of conducting research, training personnel, and supporting the formation of the artificial intelligence ecosystem. Later, NUST Vice-Rector Osman Hasan delivered speeches on “Effective Repetition-Based Methodology for Neuromorphic Continuous Learning through Artificial Intelligence Systems”, Kata Varadi, Director of the Institute of Finance of Corvinus University of Budapest, delivered speeches on “Using Artificial Intelligence in Valuing Complex Swap Options”, and Boiprav Olga, Head of the Department of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, delivered speeches on “A Modern Approach Based on Physics-Based Neural Networks to Predict the Effectiveness of Microwave Shielding of Materials”. The presentations drew attention to the calls for long-term partnerships and inspiring innovative ideas that will contribute to building a smarter, more efficient and more inclusive digital future. Then, the guests got acquainted with the activities of the Innovation Center at NSU. The conference continues with plenary sessions.

An event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on the occasion of the Republic of Turkey. Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov briefly reviewed the history of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and spoke about the importance of this day. He emphasized that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have deep roots. The opening ceremony of the Incubation Center was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by the university administration, representatives of state institutions, organizations operating in the field of innovation, and students. Osman Gunduz, Rector's Advisor on Digital Issues, emphasized the need to promote innovative thinking and startup culture at AzTU and said that the Incubation Center established at the university will be an important platform for the realization of students' ideas. Osman Gunduz noted that this center is an initiative that will add value not only to the university, but also to the country's innovation ecosystem in general. Then, AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev made a speech and provided information about the purpose of the center's creation, the goals set, and the planned areas of activity. He said that the center will provide students with the opportunity to turn their ideas into startup projects, develop their technological skills, and participate in various mentoring programs. Wishing success to the work of the center, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the innovation-oriented activities carried out at the university. The rector noted that the activities of the AzTU Incubation Center will serve to reveal the creative potential of students, direct scientific results to application, and strengthen the university's innovation strategy. Vilayat Valiyev said that the university plans to closely cooperate with state agencies, the private sector, and international partners in this direction. Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency Rashad Khaligov, Director of the IBA Innovation Center Hasan Eminov, Advisor to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SME Agency Zaur Gardashov, and mentor Elshad Yusifli made speeches and assessed the establishment of the Incubation Center as an important step in terms of strengthening the ecosystem in the country and expressed their readiness for cooperation.

The midterm exams for the fall semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) are continuing successfully. It is planned to hold midterm exams twice a year. This approach not only stimulates students' continuous learning throughout the semester, but also serves to further increase the objectivity and transparency of the assessment. It should be noted that the exams at the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology, which is the only faculty in the region that trains qualified engineers in the field of defense industry, are held on the basis of a modern assessment mechanism, and the progress of the process is monitored by the faculty management and representatives.

Within the framework of the working visit of the delegation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) to Israel, an agreement was signed between AzTU and Bar-Ilan University of Israel on a dual diploma program in electrical and electronics engineering at the master's level. The signing ceremony was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the State of Israel Mukhtar Mammadov. Students who will be accepted into the dual diploma program will study for one year at AzTU and one year at Bar-Ilan University. The presentation of the book "After the Struggle" dedicated to National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the presentation held on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the victory in the 44-day Patriotic War, the head of the Department of Humanities Habib Mirzayev said that the book "After the Struggle" written by the member of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, poet, writer, publicist Mushfig Malik Muganli consists of two parts and four chapters. The first part contains valuable advice given to children, teenagers and young people by Agakerim Ibrahimov, the father of National Hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, and the opinions of prominent personalities about Mubariz, while the second part contains the author's artistic and journalistic thoughts on the life of Mubariz Ibrahimov and his heroism, including his poem "My Holy Fighter". The staff of the Department of Humanities - Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor Afag Zeynalova, teacher Rena Najafova, and Fatih Emir Torum on behalf of the students spoke about the importance of the book. It was especially emphasized that the love of the homeland of the Azerbaijani heroes and the high heroic qualities that arose in response to these sacred feelings will always be remembered as a glorious page in history. The author of the book, Mushfig Malik Muganli, made a speech and explained the important points regarding the creation of the publication, and recalled the valuable recommendations given by Mubariz's father Agakarim Ibrahimov in this direction. He noted that he would mobilize all his resources in the direction of promoting and promoting the book in order to fulfill the promise made to the father of the National Hero. At the end of the event, the author donated his books "After Mubariz" and "Thoughts of Agakarim Ibrahimov", which reflect the thoughts of Mubariz Ibrahimov's father, to the university.

A delegation from Pakistan’s National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) visited the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The delegation was composed of Prof. Dr. Hasan Osman, Pro-Rector for Academic Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Khan, Director of Research. The delegation paid an official visit to the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for one week. On the first day of the visit, the meeting was attended by AzTU Rector Prof. Dr. Vilayat Valiyev, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Prof. Dr. Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for International Relations Dr. Fariz Mammadov, and Director of the Research and Development Department Bakhtiyar Badalov. During the discussions, the parties explored opportunities to expand cooperation between Azerbaijani and Pakistani universities in the fields of science, education, and innovation. They also discussed the implementation of joint scientific research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, as well as the establishment of joint doctoral programs. A meeting with Turkey's first cosmonaut, military pilot Alper Gezeravci was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) organized by the Yunus Emre Institute. In addition to AzTU students, students of the Turkey-Azerbaijan University (TAU) also participated in the event. Rector Vilayat Veliyev expressed his satisfaction with Turkey's first cosmonaut Alper Gezeravci's visit to AzTU. He noted that Alper Gezeravci's meeting with the students is a great motivation for them. Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute Gökhan Seyhan said that it is a great honor to organize meetings between students and world-famous people who have achieved success in the fields of science, research, and technology. Then, Turkey's first cosmonaut Alper Gezeravci made a comprehensive presentation. He said that 503 programs have been implemented in 224 cities over the past 19 months. The goal is to establish direct communication with young people who are the guarantee of the future and answer questions that interest them. Alper Gezeravci told the students about the visible and invisible aspects of cosmonautics. He also spoke about the changes that occur in weightlessness and its impact on human psychology. Videos about the life path of astronaut Alper Gezeravci, as well as the experiences he gained in his career, were also shown at the event. Speaking about the unbreakable unity and brotherhood between Turkey and Azerbaijan, the astronaut said that Turkish and Azerbaijani youth have high intelligence and practical thinking skills. During the meeting, the students' questions were answered. It should be noted that the first Turkish astronaut Alper Gezeravci's journey into space began on January 19, 2024. He stayed on the International Space Station for 22 days and participated in 13 different scientific experiments. These studies conducted in microgravity and space environments covered the fields of human genetics and health, biology, materials science, production technologies, and fundamental sciences.

Turkey's first cosmonaut, military pilot Alper Gezeravci was a guest of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guest met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Veliyev. Then, Alper Gezeravci toured the university. He also got acquainted with the "Engineer Development Program" (MGP) workshop. It was noted that the MGP workshop was established within the framework of cooperation between the Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAIC) and AzTU. At the workshop, Alper Gezeravci was also given detailed information about the defense-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) jointly developed by students of AzTU and the National Aviation Academy (NAA). It was noted that the UAV in question was developed as a result of the "AzTU-Turkish Aerospace, MGP 2023.1" highly qualified engineering training program implemented within the framework of joint cooperation between AzTU, TAIC and NAA. The UAV has the function of distinguishing between enemy and friendly soldiers by the colors of their uniforms (berets). The UAV can carry out its mission by flying at an altitude of 50 meters. The total duration of the process is 14 minutes. During the flight, the enemy coordinates are automatically calculated by the program, the general basic data is analyzed and transmitted to the Ground Control Station. The flight is carried out by controlling the direction of the UAV based on the data displayed on the Ground Station Interface (GUI).
