The presentation of the book “Climate Change and ISO Standards” prepared by the “Quality Association” Public Union was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). At the event, Samir Novruzlu, Chairman of the “Quality Association” Public Union, spoke about the 18-year activity of the organization, as well as the projects and events it has implemented. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized that climate change, global warming and the fight against it are one of the most urgent problems for humanity. He noted that ISO standards play an important role in preventing these processes, protecting ecological balance and ensuring sustainable development, conducting scientific research, applying innovative approaches and expanding international cooperation, and reducing this impact. The Rector said that the book “Climate Change and ISO Standards” covers modern approaches and methods in the struggle against climate change. The book in question can be used as an important methodological tool for specialists, researchers and students. Khamis Seyranov, General Director of the Azerbaijan Metrology Institute, spoke about climate change, environmental problems, and the importance of implementing international standards in the field of metrology. The speakers spoke about the approaches and methodologies currently being applied around the world to mitigate climate change and its impacts.

An educational session on compulsory health insurance was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AZTU). Mehti Namazov, an employee of the AzTU Communication Department, said that compulsory health insurance is one of the important areas of health care and it is important to inform young people in this direction. Fuad Bayramov, an employee of the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance, provided information on the purpose of the compulsory health insurance system, application forms, the list of medical services provided within the framework of compulsory health insurance, and procedural rules. Finally, the students' questions were answered.

Sahib Asgarov, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Transport and Logistics of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), conducted training in high schools and schools of Baku within the framework of the “Road Safety for Children” project. The main goal of the project was to teach schoolchildren traffic rules and safe behavior habits on the road, as well as to form their traffic culture. During the training, children were explained the correct use of pedestrian crossings, important rules when approaching vehicles, the meaning of traffic lights, and other topics.

Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Associate Professor Arastun Mammadov, Associate Professor of the Department, participated in the international conference “Network for energy supply and energy efficiency (NESEFF): 10th anniversary of the energy supply and energy efficiency network” at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU C-S), Germany. Active NESEFF employees were awarded honorary certificates within the framework of the conference. Professor Nizami Yusubov and Associate Professor Arastun Mammadov were among the awardees. After the conference, the participants visited the German Center for Air and Space Research, where they got acquainted with the experimental heat pump. It should be noted that the international NESEFF network was established in September 2015 at the international seminar on “Energy Supply and Energy Efficiency” held in Baku with the participation of AzTU, BTU C-S, National Research University - Moscow Energy Institute, and the National Mining  University of Ukraine. Currently, a total of more than 20 universities and research centers from Azerbaijan, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Ukraine operate within the network.

Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Associate Professor Arastun Mammadov, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, visited Germany within the framework of a grant project funded by the Azerbaijan Science Foundation (Grant No. AEF-MGC-2024-2(50)-16/01/1-M-01). The aim was to further deepen joint scientific research, discuss the results obtained, conduct practical experiments on site, and discuss the joint publication of the research in high-ranking scientific journals. Project leader Professor Nizami Yusubov and project executor Associate Professor Arastun Mammadov met with Professor Sylvio Simon, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Energy Systems of the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU C-S), and his colleagues within the framework of a scientific mission to discuss the work on the grant project in question. As part of the visit, an excursion was organized for AzTU representatives to the “Deutsche Bahn” Transport Vehicles Repair LLC, and scientific cooperation and technological directions with industrial enterprises were determined during the meetings. In addition, some initial experimental studies were also conducted in the Metalworking Machine Tool Laboratory. It should be noted that research is currently being successfully continued at BTU within the framework of the grant project. This cooperation is making a necessary contribution to increasing the international rating of the grant project. It is planned to jointly publish the conducted research in highly rated scientific journals and to train joint doctoral students in the future.

Ilgar Abbasov, a lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), successfully defended his dissertation on the topic "Development of a methodology for increasing energy efficiency in lathe processing" at the Brandenburg Technical University Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU C-S) and received the academic scientific degree of German Doctor of Engineering (Dr.-Ing.). It should be noted that, as a doctoral student at the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology (scientific supervisor, Prof. Nizami Yusubov), he won a 4-year doctoral scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) in 2019 and began his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Energy Systems of BTU C-S in October 2020. Here, his scientific supervisor was the head of the Department of Metalworking Machine Tools, honorary doctor of AzTU, Professor Sylvio Simon. The experimental stages of the research were carried out not only at the Brandenburg Technical University, but also at the Polish Jelenia Gora and Wrocław Universities of Technology, and high scientific results were achieved. After the end of the DAAD scholarship in October 2024, Ilgar Abbasov began working as a research worker and teacher at the same faculty. This decision clearly demonstrated the high appreciation that BTU C-S places on his scientific potential and professionalism, and at the same time made a significant contribution to the further strengthening of international cooperation between our universities. The head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, Professor Nizami Yusubov, as a member of the Defense Council established at BTU C-S and one of the main reviewers, participated in the defense process, as well as the associate professor of the department, Arastun Mammadov, as a guest at the Defense Council meeting. In connection with Ilgar Abbasov's defense, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev sent a letter of gratitude to BTU C-S President Professor Gesine Grande. The rector's letter was presented to Gesine Grande after the defense of the dissertation.

On November 4-6, the “QS Higher Education: Asia and the Pacific” summit was held in Seoul, South Korea, organized by the international rating agency “Quacquarelli Symonds” (QS) and hosted by Korea University. The event was attended by higher education institutions from Australia, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt and other countries, as well as Azerbaijani universities. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the summit by Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Bakhtiyar Badalov, Director of the Research and Development Department, and Parvana Movsumova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department. An award ceremony was held as part of the summit to recognize universities that successfully passed the “QS Stars” international assessment system. AzTU was awarded 5 stars in this assessment. As part of the event, the AzTU delegation held meetings with university leaders and representatives of international rating agencies from different countries of the world, exchanged experiences, and discussed future cooperation opportunities. As part of the visit, AzTU representatives attended an official reception organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Korea on the occasion of Victory Day.

An informative session was organized for 4th year students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AZTU) to promote and encourage civil service. Mehti Namazov, an employee of the AzTU Communication Department, spoke at the event and noted the importance of civil service in developing a management culture and forming transparent and professional personnel. He emphasized the importance of educating students on such topics. Civil service trainer Samir Damirov informed the youth about the rules for admission to civil service, categories and classifications, certificates required for vacant positions, and other issues. At the end, the students' questions were answered.

An info session on “Startup Days” was held at the Incubation Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The aim of the event was to provide students with detailed information about the “Startup Days” to be held at the university, prepare them for this process, and familiarize them with the startup ecosystem. Students of the Faculty of Information and Telecommunication Technologies participated in the info session. Osman Gunduz, Rector’s Advisor on Digital Issues, said that the “Startup Days” project will be held with the support of the “Startup Azerbaijan” platform. He spoke about the essence, goals, and opportunities of “Startup Days” for students, emphasized the importance of forming a startup culture at the university, and called on students to actively participate in this project. Then, AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev made a speech and provided extensive information about the “Startup Days” to be held in the coming days. He spoke about the stages awaiting students these days, the formation of teams, the processes from the idea stage to the development of a prototype. At the end, the participants' questions were answered.

Georgiana Oana Stănilă, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages, Professor of the Accounting Department of the Bucharest University of Economics, Romania, and Razvan Hoinaru, a teacher of the same department, were guests of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on an exchange within the framework of bilateral cooperation. AzTU Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the guests about the university's activities. Discussions were held to expand areas of cooperation between the two universities. Later, the guests held a seminar on "Financial Reporting in Relation to Sustainable Development Goals" for teachers and students of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management of AzTU.
