A startup-oriented training was held at the Incubation Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with the joint support of the university and the “Startup Azerbaijan” platform. At the training, expert and mentor, chairman of the “Azerbaijan Innovation Export Consortium” Farid Kazimov made a presentation on the formation of startups, development stages and transformation of ideas into market-oriented projects. He spoke to young people about the importance of the right approach and teamwork in the startup ecosystem, and gave practical recommendations based on real examples. Speaking at the event, AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev announced that a large-scale event called “Startup Days” would be held in the near future, jointly organized by the university and the “Startup Azerbaijan” platform. It was noted that this event will create opportunities for students to present innovative ideas, build teams, and collaborate with mentors. It should be noted that the AzTU Incubation Center cooperates with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IDIA) under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport.

A delegation led by Dr. Chung Hun Lee, Vice President for International Relations of Sejong University, Republic of Korea, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). AzTU Vice Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the guests about the work being done at the university. Sejong University Vice President for International Relations Dr. Chung Hun Lee also made a detailed speech about the higher education institution he represents. During the meeting, views were also exchanged between AzTU and Sejong University on joint research, student and faculty exchange, improving the position of universities in international rankings, implementing dual diploma programs and cooperation in other areas. Then, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the two universities.

Togrul Amirli, a student of the MBA program of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) studying business organization and management, became the world champion in the 110 kg weight category in the powerlifting competition held by the World Powerlifting Alliance in Lakitelek, Hungary. It should be noted that the Azerbaijani team performed successfully in the competition and won numerous medals.

The qualification stage of the “50th ICPC – Inter-University International Programming Competition” for Azerbaijan was held. The competition was organized by the ICPC Azerbaijan Community, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and ADA University, in partnership with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency. The qualification stage was organized on the technical base of AzTU, ADA University, Baku Higher Oil School, Azerbaijan-French University, Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Baku State University, Khazar University, Lankaran State University, Karabakh University and Nakhchivan State University. 157 teams (each consisting of three students and one team leader) from 22 higher education institutions of Azerbaijan, as well as 3 teams of schoolchildren outside the competition, participated in the competition. The teams were tasked with solving 14 algorithmic problems in C++, Java or Python programming languages ​​within 5 hours and testing these solutions in an automatic evaluation system. According to the results of the competition, 4 AzTU teams (63 teams in total) have qualified for the regional stage of the “50th ICPC – International Interuniversity Programming Competition” in Azerbaijan, which will be held on November 15, 2025. The teams that successfully complete the regional stage will have the right to participate in the semi-final stage of the “50th ICPC – International Interuniversity Programming Competition” and the South Caucasus Open Championship (in team and individual categories), which will be held in Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia, on December 15–17, 2025.

Within the framework of the cooperation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with the Namangan State Technical University (NDTU) of Uzbekistan, NDTU Vice-Rector for Financial and Economic Affairs Professor Payzillokhon Garayev and Head of the Accounting Department Associate Professor Ulugbek Tursunov visited AzTU as part of an exchange program. AzTU Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the guests about AzTU's activities. Then, the guests held a seminar on "Development of Accounting in the Republic of Uzbekistan" for the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management of AzTU. At the end of the seminar, discussions were held with NDTU representatives on the possibilities of conducting joint research on various topics in the future.

The XXIX internal tournament "Great Return" was held with the support of the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the organization of the university's Debate Club. About 40 teams and students from various universities participated in the tournament, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of AzTU and the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". AzTU's "Etalon" (Aytac Abdullayeva, Zahid Islamli) and "Debattal Gazi" (Yusif Ismayilov, Islam Allahverdiyev) teams qualified for the final stage of the tournament, which took place in an exciting competition. It should be noted that the final stage will be held on November 12.

Within the framework of the cooperation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with the Hungarian Corvinus University (CU), the head of the Institute of Finance of this higher education institution, Associate Professor Kata Varadi, was a guest of AzTU on an exchange program. AzTU Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the guest about the activities of AzTU. Then, the guest held a seminar on “Financing Biodiversity in the European Union and Azerbaijan” for the teaching staff and students of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management of AzTU. Finally, discussions were held on the possibilities of conducting joint research on this and other topics in the future.

Within the framework of the cooperation between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (PKTU) of the People's Republic of China, a group of doctoral students from PKTU visited AzTU as part of an exchange program. Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov informed the Chinese students about the activities of AzTU. Then, the doctoral students made presentations about their research and discussions were held around the research topics. During the visit, the students got acquainted with the educational and research infrastructure of AzTU. PKTU representatives and doctoral students exchanged views on the possibilities of continuing their research with AzTU in the future.

The opening ceremony of the 1st International Scientific and Practical Conference “Development and Innovations: Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning” was held at Nakhchivan State University. First, the dear memory of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and our martyrs who gave their lives for the independence and sovereignty of our Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. The conference was held in a hybrid format with the joint organization of Nakhchivan State University (NDU), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Mingachevir State University (MSU), Tashkent State Technical University of Uzbekistan, Asia Pacific University of Malaysia, and the National University of Science and Technology of Pakistan (NUST), with the participation of a number of foreign and republican universities. The main objectives of the two-day conference are to present the latest research and technological innovations in the field of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and to demonstrate real-world application examples in various fields. The conference also aims to explore key issues such as data quality, model explainability, and scalability, and to promote cooperation between academia, industry, and government to support development in the era of artificial intelligence. Delivering his opening speech, NSU Rector Elbrus Isayev called the conference an important international forum that brings together researchers, field experts, and scientists in the field of artificial intelligence, which is relevant and needs to be discussed. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized that the conference, which included about 200 articles from 13 countries, is dedicated to a topic of global importance. At the initial stage, 135 articles were selected, and these articles will be published on various international scientific platforms after evaluation. Vilayat Valiyev said that the conference has participants from a wide geography and the successful organization of the event requires great responsibility and professionalism. In this sense, the hosting of such an important event by Nakhchivan State University is commendable. Artificial intelligence and machine learning are not only improving automation and decision-making processes, but also changing the way people interact with data, systems, and each other. The rector said that the conference, which brings together important academic assessments, is a very important platform that allows new initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence to emerge. Nedim Sozbir, rector of Duzce University, expressed his satisfaction with participating in the conference and expressed his confidence that important ideas will be shared here, discussing problems, and promoting important innovations. Anar Eminov, rector of MSU, emphasized in his speech that Nakhchivan State University is one of the exemplary higher education institutions in the country in raising awareness about artificial intelligence, and said that the conference is a very important event in terms of sharing the knowledge and experience of researchers and laying the foundation for new research directions. He said that the presented articles will be a fundamental source in terms of conducting research, training personnel, and supporting the formation of the artificial intelligence ecosystem. Later, NUST Vice-Rector Osman Hasan delivered speeches on “Effective Repetition-Based Methodology for Neuromorphic Continuous Learning through Artificial Intelligence Systems”, Kata Varadi, Director of the Institute of Finance of Corvinus University of Budapest, delivered speeches on “Using Artificial Intelligence in Valuing Complex Swap Options”, and Boiprav Olga, Head of the Department of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, delivered speeches on “A Modern Approach Based on Physics-Based Neural Networks to Predict the Effectiveness of Microwave Shielding of Materials”. The presentations drew attention to the calls for long-term partnerships and inspiring innovative ideas that will contribute to building a smarter, more efficient and more inclusive digital future. Then, the guests got acquainted with the activities of the Innovation Center at NSU. The conference continues with plenary sessions.

An event was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on the occasion of the Republic of Turkey. Speaking at the event, Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov briefly reviewed the history of the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and spoke about the importance of this day. He emphasized that the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey have deep roots. Then, the head of the Department of Humanities Habib Mirzayev congratulated the students on the occasion of the holiday and especially noted the role of young people in strengthening scientific, cultural and spiritual ties between the two brotherly countries. University student Fatih Emir Torun made a short report on the establishment of the Republic of Turkey, the reforms carried out under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the historical events of that period. The event continued with literary and artistic compositions, musical numbers, and presentations about Turkey prepared by the students. Finally, the participants watched a video dedicated to the Republic Day.
