A meeting was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) between the staff of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology and representatives of the Space Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (Azercosmos). At the meeting, Dean Yadullah Babayev provided information about the directions of the faculty's activities, specialties taught and development prospects, as well as the curriculum of the aerospace engineering specialty. In addition, the issues of adapting educational programs to the requirements of the labor market and developing qualified personnel training for the space industry were discussed. An exchange of views was held on the issues of expanding cooperation between AzTU and Azercosmos, updating curricula, organizing production experiments, as well as implementing joint scientific research. Then, the guests got acquainted with various laboratories and workshops of the university.

The winter exam session of the fall semester of the 2025/2026 academic year has begun at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) at the bachelor's and master's (full-time) levels. The session will conclude on January 30. For those studying in part-time education, the exam session will cover January 7-13. Exams are held in the relevant subjects for I, II, III courses of full-time education in written (electronic), test and oral (with video recording), and for IV courses of full-time education in test and oral (with video recording) methods. Exams for students studying in part-time education are organized by the test method. At the master's level, all exams will be held in oral (with video recording) method. Students who did not participate in the exam during the session for valid reasons will be provided with the opportunity to take the exam in those subjects from February 9 to 13. It should be noted that in order to monitor the progress of the session and ensure transparency, the Appeals Commission, the Examination Headquarters, and the "Activeline" (+99412 525 24 06 (extension 4001) operate at AzTU.

The last meeting of the Scientific Council of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in 2025 was held. Rector Vilayat Valiyev congratulated the members of the council on December 31 - World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year, wishing them success in their work.   Then the Strategic Development Plan (SDP) of the university for the next year was approved. Tasks were given to further improve the quality of the activities of the structures during the next year.  

The Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has met with faculty members participating in international scientific research and academic exchange programs. The meeting focused on reviewing recent achievements, evaluating current cooperation initiatives, and outlining future directions within the university’s international academic partnerships. According to the information presented, during the last month, 74 AzTU staff members and 14 students took part in research, academic exchange, seminars, and internship programs at 15 partner universities in Türkiye, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. These collaborations resulted in initial agreements on the implementation of joint projects, bilateral research initiatives, preparation of scholarly publications, and the development of new academic programs. During the meeting, participants discussed the expansion of AzTU’s international partnership network, increasing access to overseas academic and research opportunities for faculty and students, and establishing joint laboratories and research centers with foreign institutions. The Rector emphasized that one of AzTU’s primary objectives is to transform these collaborations into sustainable cooperation mechanisms and measurable academic outcomes. Attendees shared proposals regarding future priorities, improvement of partnership mechanisms, and new opportunities for cooperation. AzTU’s leadership reaffirmed that strengthening international engagement remains a strategic priority for the university and noted that activities in this direction will continue to advance.

The Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has been awarded the ISO 21001:2018 – Management system in educational institutions certificate, confirming the compliance of management in educational institutions with international standards. The certification was carried out by the international certification company “STAREGISTER International Inc.”. The certificate was presented by Shamo Muradov, the official representative of the international certification company “STAREGISTER International Inc.” in Azerbaijan, director of the “INCERT” certification company, to the rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev. Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized that the ISO 21001:2018 standard is of particular importance in terms of the systematic establishment of management in educational institutions, strengthening of a student-oriented approach and the formation of continuous quality assurance. The rector noted that the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology carries out personnel training in areas of strategic importance for the country, and this certificate is an indicator of the international recognition of the institutional development of the faculty. It should be noted that, as part of the certification process, the faculty's teaching and management processes, subject programs and syllabi, student satisfaction, as well as continuous improvement procedures were comprehensively audited and positively assessed in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 21001:2018 standard.

Professor Vagif Hasanov, Head of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Professor Fuad Mammadov, and Senior Lecturer Elbey Rustamzadeh visited the I.Karimov Tashkent State Technical University and the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan as part of an exchange program. The main purpose of the visit was to exchange experience in the field of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and modern green technologies, discuss joint research opportunities and identify future cooperation prospects. Within the framework of the visit, representatives of the department held meetings with employees of the relevant faculties and departments of the I.Karimov Tashkent State Technical University. During the meetings, detailed information was presented on the work done in both higher education institutions in the field of energy engineering, alternative energy sources, energy auditing, and sustainable development. In particular, solar and wind energy technologies, smart energy systems, and carbon emissions reduction were in the spotlight. The department staff got acquainted with the scientific laboratories, training centers and research infrastructure of the I.Karimov Tashkent State Technical University and the Institute of Physics and Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. During the visit, seminars and discussions were also organized, and presentations on the topic were made by representatives of the Department of Energy Efficiency and Green Energy Technologies.

The head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Professor Nizami Yusubov, the consulting professor of the department, Nariman Rasulov, the associate professor of the department, Doctor of Philosophy in National Security and Military Sciences Sarvan Aziz, the senior lecturer of the department Ramil Dadashov, and the referent of the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of AzTU Farid Huseynli visited Ankara, Turkey, on an exchange program. As part of the visit, the AzTU delegation held a number of official meetings at the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Company (TUSAŞ), Middle East Technical University (METU), and Gazi University. The goal was to further expand existing relations with the aforementioned educational and scientific institutions, strengthen scientific cooperation, implement mutual exchange of experience, and discuss opportunities for cooperation in scientific and research fields, taking them to a new stage in the future. During the meetings held during the visit, the development of scientific cooperation within the framework of joint research projects and academic exchange programs between AzTU and Gazi University, METU and TUSASH, the implementation of joint projects, discussion of cooperation opportunities in priority research areas, as well as the implementation of mutual experience exchange were discussed. It was recommended to implement short-term scientific missions of teachers and researchers within the framework of academic exchange programs, the application of co-supervision mechanisms for master's and doctoral students, as well as the systematic implementation of mutual experience exchange. During the visit, agreements were reached between AzTU and TUSASH, Gazi University and METU to expand scientific cooperation and promote institutional integration in the field of higher education.

A collective agreement has been signed between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Trade Union Committee of the university. The agreement was signed by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and the Chairwoman of the Trade Union Committee of the university Lala Piriyeva. The collective agreement is concluded in accordance with the Labor Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Collective Agreement (2025-2027) dated 06.10.2025 concluded between the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republican Committee of the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers to regulate labor, socio-economic and other relations between the employer and employees.

Head of the Department of Humanities of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Associate Professor Habib Mirzayev and Professor Ayyub Karimov visited the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satbayev in Kazakhstan as part of an exchange program. As part of the visit, fruitful meetings were held with the Vice-Rector for Science and Corporate Development of the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after I.K. Satbayev, Professor Kuldeev Erzhan Itemenovich, Director of the Institute of Project Management, Professor Bakytjan Amralinova, Director of the Department of Support for Scientific Projects and Doctoral Education, Zhumadilova Janar Orazbekova, and Head of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages, Associate Professor Almas Uderbayev. The meetings widely discussed the development of scientific cooperation, implementation of joint projects, and opportunities for cooperation in priority research areas. The head of the department of AzTU, Habib Mirzayev, made a presentation about AzTU at the Department of Kazakh and Russian Languages ​​of the University named after K.I. Satbayev, and a scientific seminar was organized for the employees of the department. AzTU representatives also participated in the report meeting of the rector of the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after I.K. Satbayev Meiram Mukhametrakhimovich Begentaev dedicated to the results of 2025. As part of the visit, the AzTU delegation also visited the Akhmet Baytursinulu Institute of Linguistics and the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies of the Kazakh National Academy of Sciences. At a business meeting held at the Center for World and Kazakh Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy, Political Science and Religious Studies, relevant directions for the development of research on Turkic philosophy were discussed. During the visit, the AzTU delegation was presented with various scientific literature on Kazakh linguistics, as well as scientific publications reflecting modern research in the field of Kazakh and world philosophical thought of the IFPR.

A delegation led by Rena Efendiyeva, Executive Director of Synergia Academy, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The purpose was to discuss the opportunities for expanding cooperation between AzTU and Synergia Academy. Welcoming the guests, Rector Vilayat Valiyev highly appreciated the role of Synergia Academy in expanding relations with the labor market and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation with the company. Representatives of Synergia Academy discussed the opportunities for establishing a joint center at AzTU, as well as the formation of training, certification and research-oriented educational programs. It was noted that the center will cover research and innovation-based models, specialized courses in technological and applied fields, as well as design-oriented programs. The importance of implementing a pilot project at the initial stage and establishing the center based on a complex solution model was highlighted. The meeting also discussed the “Bridge” Program of Synergia Academy, aimed at developing soft skills in university teachers and students, and the possibilities of implementing the project at AzTU in the future. Finally, Synergia Academy's proposals for the engineering-oriented Mini MBA Program were presented, and views were exchanged on the possibilities of jointly implementing this program with AzTU in the future.
