An information session about the Student Scientific Society was held for students of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology

An information session on the Student Scientific Society (SSS) was held for the students of the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Dean Yadullah Babayev informed about the goals and objectives of the SSS. He emphasized the importance of the participation of students of the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology in local and international projects, noting that SSS plays an important role in this direction. Then, Azer Bayramov, Director of the SmartTech Innovation Center of AzTU, provided information about the implemented projects and spoke about the opportunities that joint cooperation with SSS will create in the future. Safa Bagirov, Head of the Communication Department of AzTU, invited students to participate in various clubs of SSS. AzTU Lifelong Learning School engineer and graduate of the faculty Azad Musayev stated that the projects implemented together with students play an important role in their personal and professional development, and called on students to actively participate in these projects. At the end, Amin Mammadov, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs, Public Relations and Infrastructure, Chairman of the Faculty's Scientific Committee, made a presentation on the work to be done. At the end, it was noted that the motto of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology is "Success with Determination", and students were invited to work together around this motto.

AzTU was represented at the "bootcamp" held in Khankendi

The next “bootcamp” was held in the city of Khankendi within the framework of the “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Precision Agriculture” project, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Karabakh University. The Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the “Bootcamp” by Nihad Aliyev, a student of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, and Azer Bayramov, Director of the “SmartTech” Innovators Center. The goal was to promote the application of artificial intelligence and digital technologies in the agricultural sector, to improve the knowledge and skills of young people in this direction, and to create conditions for them to become closely acquainted with the agricultural potential of the liberated territories. During the infotour organized within the framework of the program, the participants visited the Sugovushan reservoir. They were provided with detailed information on the management of the region’s strategic water resources, the role of digital technologies in the process of restoring agricultural infrastructure, and the integration of industrial enterprises into agricultural production. The participants also observed on-site the importance of applying modern technological solutions in the agricultural sector in terms of increasing productivity, efficient use of resources, and expanding export opportunities. AzTU Library Information Center achieved another international success

Director of the Library Information Center (LIC) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Khayala Hajiyeva and her colleague Mahsati Aliyeva have translated the online terminology dictionary in the field of Digital Repositories into Azerbaijani with the joint proposal from COAR "Controlled Open Access Repositories" organization. It should be noted that COAR is an international association with more than 130 members and partners representing libraries, universities and research institutes from all over the world. COAR unites repository networks by increasing the potential of Open Access, developing legal documents, harmonizing practices and acting as a global voice for repositories. One of the organization's activities is the translation of digital repositories, which are considered a trend in the world in the field of science and education and support for open science and open access into world languages. Thus, for the first time, AzTU LIC employees succeeded in including terminology in the Azerbaijani language in COAR's online dictionary called "Controlled Vocabulary of Open Access Repositories".

Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev met with students Rasul Ibrahimli, Huseyn Huseynov, Amil Jamilov, Sahib Iskanderli, Ali Hasanli, Seymur Shikhalizadeh and Ilaha Karimova, who participated in the 76th International Astronautical Congress held in Sydney, Australia. Professor Mehman Hasanov, Head of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Associate Professor Atif Namazov, Head of the Department of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence, participated in the “CIDC 2025 – Critical Infrastructure Defence Challenge” cybersecurity festival, organized by the State Security Service (STS) and the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security (SSIS) and in partnership with the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (AKTA). AzTU students underwent practical training in the laboratory of the Institute of Physics

Fourth-year students of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) underwent a practical training in Nanotechnologies at the “Thin-Layer Structures” laboratory of the Institute of Physics. The training was conducted by Elnur Bagiyev, assistant professor of the Department of Special Technologies and Equipment. The students got acquainted with the modern equipment of the laboratory and observed the process of obtaining nanometer-sized layers using various methods on the “Angstrom” device. The training was also attended by Amin Mamedov, Deputy Dean for Social Affairs, Public Relations and Infrastructure of the Faculty. It should be noted that such practical trainings are planned to be continued in the future.

An information session on “Peerstack Academy” was held for students of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). AzTU Expands Cooperation with Leading Universities of Pakistan

The delegation of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), led by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov and Director of the Research and Development Department Bakhtiyar Badalov, paid an official visit to leading universities in Islamabad, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Jala Karimova, a representative of the Agency for Science and Higher Education, also joined the visit. During the visit, the delegation held meetings with the leadership of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), COMSATS University, the University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST), Bahria University, and Air University. Throughout the visit, extensive discussions were held on expanding cooperation opportunities with these universities. The parties reached agreements on joint research projects, co-authored scientific publications, and establishment of mutual research platforms. At NUST one of Pakistan’s leading engineering and innovation-oriented universities, the discussions focused on establishing a Joint Center of Excellence, publishing articles in high-impact journals, developing certification programs, and implementing faculty exchange initiatives. During the meeting with Professor Dr. Sajid Qamar, Rector of COMSATS University, both sides expressed their commitment to comprehensive cooperation. Agreements were reached on organizing joint scientific conferences, enhancing collaboration in international rankings, co-authoring high-indexed publications, and inviting short-term visiting professors. At FAST University, the delegation met with Rector Professor Dr. Aftab A. Maroof, where the parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), jointly use existing laboratory facilities, and provide dual supervision for doctoral and master’s students. Meetings with the leadership of Bahria University and Air University also resulted in an agreement to sign MoUs in the near future and establish coordination mechanisms for joint research activities. During the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with the universities’ material-technical and laboratory infrastructures and explored opportunities for practical collaboration. AzTU teachers successfully completed the HSE training program

The first stage of the HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental Protection) training program implemented within the framework of the joint cooperation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with “TCS” LLC has been successfully completed. At this stage, 7 selected AzTU teachers have obtained the internationally recognized and prestigious "Train the Trainer", "IOSH Managing Safely 5.0" and "Minimum Industry Safety Training (MIST)" certificates in the field of industrial safety. Within the framework of the training program, an intensive training and assessment process was carried out for AzTU teachers on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
