Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held a meeting with the Azerbaijani representative office of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) and employees of the Gebze Organized Industrial Zone (GOSB) technopark. The meeting was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Turkey-Azerbaijan University (TAU) Vice-Rector Mehmet Simshir, and AzTU representatives. Rector Vilayat Valiyev welcomed the guests and provided information about the university’s activities, engineering and technology initiatives. Then, Rashad Jabirli, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MUSIAD Azerbaijan, spoke about the organization’s activities in our country and its contributions to the development of the entrepreneurial ecosystem. TAU Vice-Rector Mehmet Simshir shared the university’s activities in the field of education and innovation with the guests. During the meeting, cooperation opportunities with both universities were discussed.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has been accepted as a full member of the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE). This significant move will strengthen the university’s position at the international level and create an opportunity for active participation in global sustainability initiatives. AzTU’s membership in AASHE will support the university’s efforts to build a more sustainable future in the ecological, social, and economic areas. This platform will provide AzTU's staff and students with access to international experiences and create opportunities to explore innovative approaches in the field of sustainability. Being a member of AASHE will further enhance AzTU’s activities in sustainable development, providing students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in ecological, social, and economic sustainability. Through this initiative, AzTU aims to contribute to promoting sustainability in the modern world and inspire future generations to adopt these principles. AASHE supports sustainability initiatives at higer education institutions, offering a global platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the exchange of best practices among universities. By utilizing this platform, AzTU will broaden its international collaborations and enhance its leadership in the field of sustainable development even further.

Representatives from various companies within the Communication Technologies Cluster, operating under the OSTİM Organized Industrial Zone in Türkiye, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU's Rector Vilayət Vəliyev and other university representatives. Rector Vilayet Valiyev spoke about AzTU's collaboration with Türkiye's higher education institutions and companies. He emphasized the importance of applying Türkiye's experience in university-industry collaboration at AzTU. Durali Çiçek, the coordinator of the Communication Technologies Cluster, and representatives from the cluster's companies provided information about the activities of their institutions, highlighting the importance of university-industry collaboration in the fields of electronics, automation, telecommunications, programming, and cybersecurity. Durali Çiçek mentioned that AzTU’s faculty members and students could be involved in research and internship activities at companies within the cluster. During the meeting, the possibilities for collaboration in relevant areas were discussed.

Ahmet Köse, Director of the "Bilim Baku" Center and official representative of "TEKNOFEST" in Azerbaijan, met with Vilayet Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The meeting was also attended by Mehmet Şimşir, Vice-Rector of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU), and AzTU representatives. During the discussion, the expansion of cooperation between AzTU and TAU was explored. Following that, Ahmet Köse held an info session for AzTU and TAU students. The event began with an opening speech by Sübhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at AzTU. He mentioned that students prepare for "TEKNOFEST" with great enthusiasm every year and emphasized the significance of the competition, noting that it opens new opportunities for students. Ahmet Köse then gave a comprehensive presentation on “TEKNOFEST-2025.” The session concluded with a Q&A session, where students’ questions were answered.

The '4th Networking Forum of Young Teachers,' organized by the Azerbaijan Young Teachers Association (AGMA), hosted productive discussions with the participation of more than 600 teachers. During the first plenary session, titled “Artificial Intelligence and Ethics: Issues of Integrity and Privacy in Education,” Etibar Seyidzade, Director of the Institute for Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), delivered a speech. He discussed topics such as artificial intelligence and academic integrity, data privacy, the application of AI in education, and fairness in the education system. Additionally, he highlighted both the benefits and potential risks of integrating artificial intelligence into education.

The Azerbaijan Education Workers Free Trade Union Republican Committee (ATİAHİRK), a member organization of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHİK), has awarded named scholarships to 100 students who actively participate in education and the student trade union movement. Among the recipients are seven students from Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU): Vusal Bayramov – Faculty of Information Technology and Telecommunications, 4th year, Group 641a2 Fidan Humbatzade – Faculty of Economics and Management, 4th year, Group 951a1 Arif Aliyev – Faculty of Metallurgy and Chemical Technology, 4th year, Group 411a1 Fatima Badalzade – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics, 3rd year, Group 502a Aqil Baxşıyev – Faculty of SABAH Groups, 4th year, Group 681s1 Orxan Hasanov – Faculty of Transport and Logistics, 4th year, Group 161a1 İbrahim Ahadov – Faculty of Special Equipment and Technology, 3rd year, Group 742a It should be noted that ATİAHİRK’s “Named Scholarship” project has been implemented since 1995. The initiative supports students from various universities across the country who achieve excellent and good academic results while actively participating in the student trade union movement.

The semifinal round of the Republic Subject Olympiads in informatics was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Research Institute of Education (ARTI). The two-day competition brought together 200 students from grades 8, 9, 10, and 11. Participants were assigned to solve four algorithmic problems using C++ or Python programming languages within three hours. The evaluation was conducted through an automated grading system.

A delegation led by the Rector of Kırşehir Ahi Evran University of Turkiye, Mustafa Kasım Karahocagil, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and university representatives to hold discussions. During the meeting, discussions were held on improving the quality of education and conducting joint research in various fields. Following the discussions, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two universities.

On February 14, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the High Technology Park (HTP) of the Ministry of Science and Education and Azerbaijan's leading higher education institutions regarding strategic cooperation. According to the agreement, the teaching of selected SABAH group programs in IT, engineering, and science fields at Baku State University, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University will take place starting from 2026 at the newly established "SABAH.city" campus within the HTP area. In her opening speech, Ulkar Sattarova, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, provided detailed information on the expansion of the SABAH program based on the President’s Decree on "Expanding the Scope and Financing of New Curriculum-Based Education Programs in Higher Education." She emphasized that the collaboration with HTP, within the framework of the "SABAH.city" innovation campus, would introduce a new approach to the connection between the business environment and science and higher education. Later, the rectors of Baku State University, Elçin Babayev; Azerbaijan Technical University, Vilayat Valiyev; and Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Rufat Azizov, spoke about the work carried out within the SABAH programs at their respective universities. They emphasized the necessity of applying new approaches to enhance the quality of higher education. The CEO of the High Technology Park, Nihat Macidov, presented on cooperation between "SABAH.city" and higher education institutions, stating that this project would raise the quality of education through modern infrastructure, updated curricula, innovative student assessment systems, and highly qualified faculty. It is worth noting that this initiative, which includes both undergraduate and graduate students, aims to develop a research- and innovation-oriented academic environment, establish a leading academic ecosystem in the participating universities, and implement innovative educational models to prepare students for the ever-evolving labor market.
