A Republican scientific conference dedicated to June 15 - National Salvation Day - was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". The conference was dedicated to the ideas of statehood of Azerbaijan, legal and political stability and the development of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, MPs Anar Isgandarov, Parvin Karimzade, Samir Valiyev, Jeyhun Mammadov, Elchin Mirzabayli, the university's faculty and students participated in the event. First, flowers were laid in front of the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the AzTU lobby, and his memory was honored with respect. Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. Welcoming the guests, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the special importance of celebrating National Salvation Day within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". Looking back at history, the Rector said that in the 90s, Azerbaijan's sovereignty was in doubt. In such a difficult period, the leader who saved the Azerbaijani people and the country from an unbearable situation could have been the great leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that June 15, when the great leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power, was actually the day when the Sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan was restored, and the Azerbaijani people are celebrating National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan, which has fully restored its sovereignty, today. Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Anar Isgandarov said that he is honored to hold meetings with universities on historical days and convey history to the younger generation. Then he spoke about the dark and bright days in the history of Azerbaijan. He said that June 15 - National Salvation Day has special historical significance. The deputy first spoke in detail about the great leader's influence in the former Soviet Union republics, as well as in the world, then about his services in the history of Azerbaijan, and the people's trust in him. The deputy especially noted that today's sovereign and modern Republic of Azerbaijan is the work of the Great Leader. Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Parvin Karimzadeh, delivered a report on the topic "Historical Successes of Azerbaijan", and said that June 15 was the beginning of Azerbaijan's path to victory. It was noted that today, as a result of the determination and political will of the worthy successor of the Great Leader, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has a say in the world. Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Samir Valiyev, delivered a report on the topic "National Salvation, the Salvation of Our People, the Rise of Our State", and said that National Salvation Day was a turning point in the history of the Azerbaijani people, and if the great leader Heydar Aliyev had not returned to the country, the Azerbaijani state could have lost its sovereignty. Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Jeyhun Mammadov, delivered a report on the topic “The Role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Development of Education and Culture in Azerbaijan” and emphasized that the revival of Azerbaijani education and culture occurred precisely after Heydar Aliyev returned to power. Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Elchin Mirzabayli, delivered a report on the topic “The Concept of Sovereignty: Classical Theories and the Azerbaijani Model”, first talking about sovereignty, state structures and their essence. Then, the MP spoke about the strategic approaches of great leader Heydar Aliyev and the formation of the concept of sovereignty and said that the sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan does not consist only of legal status and political immunity, as in classical theories, but also includes the concepts of independent decision-making in the energy, economic, environmental, cultural and information fields.

The opening ceremony of the Library Information Center, which was established at AzTU at the level of international standards with the partnership of the Ministry of Science and Education, BP company and financial support of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), was held. The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev, BP regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey Gary Jones, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, MP Fariz Ismayilzade, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev and other officials. After the symbolic ribbon cutting, Director of the Library Information Center Khayala Hajiyeva provided information about the opportunities created in the center. She said that the two-story library will serve 200 users at the same time. A repository has been created in the center, which meets international standards, ensuring the protection and use of scientific and cultural heritage, and a website has been developed where the library's electronic services are integrated. The center is equipped with RFID technology, the latest library security and self-service system. Electronic kiosks allow readers to determine the availability of resources in the physical resource collection, and self-service technology allows users to freely use materials by logging into their accounts. In addition, the library is equipped with printer and scanner equipment for users. After familiarizing themselves with the center, Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev made a speech and said that it is impossible to imagine university life without a library and that libraries must adapt to modern requirements. He noted that the establishment of an international-level Library Information Center at AzTU is a great contribution to both education and students. BP, which always carries out social projects, not only invests in education with such activities, but also brings international experience to Azerbaijani education. Gary Jones, BP's regional president for Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, emphasized that keeping education, science and libraries in mind has always been at the center of the company's social investment projects. He expressed his belief that the international-level Library Information Center, which coincides with the 75th anniversary of AzTU, will make information accessible, flexible and useful for students in a modern and rapidly changing world, and that the center will train future leaders. Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulker Sattarova congratulated Rector Vilayat Valiyev and the AzTU family on the opening of the new and progressive Library Information Center, and also thanked the management of BP for its social investments in Azerbaijani education. MP Fariz Ismayilzadeh emphasized in his speech that the rise of AzTU in recent years has been in the spotlight of the entire education community. He evaluated the joint work of AzTU and BP as one of the most beautiful examples of industry-education, company-university cooperation. Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Education Development Fund Elnur Nasibov emphasized the support of AzTU and its management in all innovative projects implemented in the field of education and noted that the newly established Library Information Center will also be useful for students. Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev, welcoming the guests, said that for a long time, the focus in the discussion of social projects conducted with BP has been on the formation of a library with international level and digital capabilities. The Rector expressed his gratitude to the library staff and the entire AzTU family for the establishment of the updated Library Information Center. It should be noted that the AzTU Library Information Center is the first library in the country with a fully international infrastructure created by local specialists. Thus, the project was developed by local personnel specialized in international knowledge. The project manager is the director of the center, Khayala Hajiyeva, and the consultant on technology, systems and software is Iltifat Ibrahimov.

Aynura Ismayilova has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Prior to her appointment as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education, she served as the Director of the School of Lifelong Learning and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Statistics at AzTU. Aynura Ismayilova joined the AzTU team in 2021 as the Head of the Center for University-Industry Cooperation and Lifelong Learning. She began her career in 2004 at the Institute of Cybernetics (now Management) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. She then worked as a project manager in the Azerbaijani representative office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Economy’s joint project “Support to Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Economic Development for the Development of a Competitive Non-Oil Sector in Azerbaijan”, and later as a Department Head and Deputy Director at the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Reforms under the Ministry of Economy. Aynura Ismayilova, who has consistently worked in the field of project management, has been the coordinator and executor of international projects of various purposes and nature for over 15 years (funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), as well as the Ministry of Science and Education (ETN), Ministry of Economy (ME), and the project leader of the 3rd grant competition for young scientists and specialists (EIF/GAM-3-2014-6(21)) with the support of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. In 2012-2021, she was represented in the working group on the preparation of legal and regulatory documents on the establishment of the Economic Cooperation Organization Research Center (ERC) in our country, and actively participated in the preparation of reports submitted to the Regional Planning Council of the ECO, as well as in cooperation with member countries. In 2016, he was awarded a “Gratitude” by the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan for his contribution to the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the OIC. In 2012, 2018 and 2025, he was awarded an International Exchange Scholarship at Shanghai Open University of the People's Republic of China, a Visiting Scholar at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Countries with Economic Transition (IAMO) in Germany with the financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and a Visiting Fellows at the Korean Institute for Foreign Economic Policy Research (KIEP Visiting Fellows). In total, since 2006, he has been a participant in about 40 scientific and scientific-technical events organized in foreign countries through various scholarship programs. During her time at AzTU, she actively participated in the continuation of the cooperation established with the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company (TUSAŞ) of the Republic of Turkey since 2022, and led the TUSAŞ-AzTU: “Highly Qualified Engineer Development Program, MGP”, “SKY Global” Exchange, “Industry-oriented graduation work - graduate projects, Lift UP” programs. She is also the coordinator of the “Preparation of Urban Mobility Plans” project implemented by AzTU. Aynura Ismayilova, a graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University at bachelor's and master's levels, defended her dissertation in econometrics and economic statistics in 2021 and received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, and holds an IPMA B-level certificate in project management. On October 21, 2014, he was awarded the "Progress" medal by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev (No. 798).

Professor Varga Kalentarov of Koç University, Turkey, held a seminar at the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The seminar, organized on the topic of "Application of Mathematical Methods in Engineering", was attended by employees of the Departments of Engineering Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence and Mechatronics. The seminar provided detailed information on the application of mathematics with modern methods in various fields of engineering. At the end of the meeting, questions were replied.

The Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and “OzünÖyren” LLC jointly organized the super final round of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition at AzTU. About 100 students (grades 1-9) from different regions of the Republic participated in the competition. In this competition, the students’ algorithmic thinking and computer skills were tested and automatically evaluated. The competition was held through the bebras.az portal. Participants were given 45 minutes to answer the questions. Finally, the winners of the first three places in each age category of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition were determined. It should be noted that 17,564 students representing grades 1–10 of 376 secondary schools from 69 regions of Azerbaijan participated in the qualification stage of the competition, which was held in an online format in December 2024. As a result, 667 students qualified for the semi-final stage. 418 students participated in the semi-final stage held at AzTU on April 12, 2025, and 100 of them advanced to the final stage. In 2024, approximately 3,900,000 students from more than 80 countries around the world participated in the “Bebras” competition. It should be noted that this competition has been organized in Azerbaijan since 2014. Our country gained full member status at the international “Bebras” conference held in Seoul, South Korea, on May 11–15, 2025. The main goal of the competition is to increase students' interest in information technology and computer science through interactive and interesting questions.

A free dental examination was held at the Student Polyclinic No. 1 of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for students, academic and administrative staff. The examination was carried out by residents and doctors of the Teaching Dental Clinic of the Azerbaijan Medical University. During the 5-hour examination, medical advice was given to those who had problems with their teeth. Also, necessary recommendations for dental health were brought to attention.

In addition, it was noted that the Azerbaijani edition of the book “Essentials of Modern Marketing-EOMM” by world-renowned marketing expert Philip Kotler was made available to readers. The goal is to bring world-class marketing expertise to Azerbaijan and ensure that the country's innovative achievements and success stories are recognized on the global stage.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) successfully participated in the Baku Energy Week held at the Baku Expo Center on June 2–4, 2025. The university's Mechatronics Department took part in the startup zone with its innovative project "Blue Energy - Smart Wave Energy Converter". The startup, presented by the author of the project, Ilkin Aliyev, assistant professor of the Mechatronics Department, and student Eldar Darvishov, has aroused great interest from both local and international companies and resulted in a number of cooperation proposals. The project aims to generate sustainable electricity using both vertical and horizontal movements of sea waves.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) hosted an International Day on the theme of “Education and Research Opportunities in Korea”. At the event, visiting professor Woojik Chun, who works at AzTU within the framework of the “World Friends of Korea (WFK) Consultants Program” of the National Information Technology Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), informed teachers and students about education and research opportunities in Korea. Then, video presentations and stands on Korean culture were shown. Korean cuisine dishes were also served to the participants.

The 1st and 2nd year students of the MBA program in International Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and the 2nd and 3rd year students of the Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Transport Technologies Engineering of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics visited the Absheron Logistics Center. The students were accompanied on the visit by the Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics, Gazanfar Akhundov, Sevinj Abdinzade, and the Senior Lecturer of the Department of Transport Logistics and Traffic Safety, Avaz Asgarov. Here, the students were informed about the history, geostrategic location, technical capabilities, and job opportunities created here of the Absheron Logistics Center. The students also got acquainted with the AzTU training center operating in the center. As part of the visit, the students were given practical lessons in relevant areas.
