A delegation led by Mehmet Toycan, Rector of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus's Cyprus Bahcheshehir University (KBU), who visited Azerbaijan, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU's Rector Vilayat Valiyev and university representatives. Welcoming the guests, Rector Vilayat Valiyev expressed his satisfaction with seeing them at AzTU. During the meeting, AzTU and KBU representatives discussed the mutual exchange of students and academic staff, joint scientific research, and opportunities for dual diploma programs. Finally, an agreement on cooperation between the universities was signed.

A meeting was held with the first-year students admitted to the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology in the 2025/2026 academic year. The Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Yadullah Babayev, congratulated the students on their success. He emphasized that the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology is the only faculty in the region that trains qualified personnel in the field of defense industry. In his speech, Yadullah Babayev noted that the importance of the defense industry is increasing day by day against the backdrop of new challenges in the globalized world and advised students to be active in their classes, always eager to learn and responsible. Then, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Academic Affairs, Goshgar Rasulov, made a speech, congratulated the first-year students admitted and wished them success in their first academic years. At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Social Issues, Public Relations and Infrastructure, Amin Mamedov, made a presentation and provided students with detailed information about the mechanism for organizing classes at the university, the credit system and other important points.

He noted that HIT was one of the first higher education institutions in Israel in the field of engineering. He said that Israeli higher education institutions are interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijani higher education institutions in the field of education and research. During the meeting, AzTU and HIT representatives discussed the mutual exchange of students and academic staff, joint scientific research, and opportunities for dual diploma programs. Finally, an agreement on cooperation between the universities was signed.

Today, the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held a Knowledge Day event. First, flowers were laid in front of the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the university lobby. Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and the National Anthem was played. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev congratulated the newly admitted students and wished them success in their educational lives and activities. The Rector noted that this year, 1887 students were admitted to AzTU for bachelor's degrees and 1604 for master's degrees. Vilayat Valiyev also provided information about AzTU's educational environment, the conditions created for students, social life and job opportunities. Then, an award ceremony was held for 14 students who scored more than 600 points in the entrance exam. Fatima Fattayeva (Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, 646.8 points), who was admitted to AzTU with the highest score, made a speech and thanked everyone who contributed to her success and said that her main goal at AzTU is to grow as a professional in her specialty and to benefit the Motherland.

The delegation led by the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev held meetings with a number of higher education institutions of this country as part of its visit to the People's Republic of China. As part of the visit, the AzTU delegation visited Shanghai University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences and Tongji University in Shanghai, and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in Nanjing to discuss cooperation opportunities. During the meetings, cooperation agreements were signed with Shanghai University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai University of Engineering Sciences and Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. It should be noted that the delegation led by the rector was represented by Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Rahid Alakbarli, Director of the Institute of Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity, and Farhad Rustamzade, Protocol Sector Specialist.

The Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held an expanded meeting as part of preparations for the 2025/2026 academic year. AzTU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, congratulated the teachers on the start of the new academic year. He spoke about the work done to improve the quality of education at the faculty and emphasized the importance of the faculty training personnel for such a strategically important field as the defense industry. Nurali Yusifbeyli noted the importance of continuing activities in this direction more intensively and wished the faculty success in the new academic year. Then, the Dean of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology, Associate Professor Yadullah Babayev, made a speech and noted the importance of adapting the educational process conducted at the faculty to the level of international subject programs. He touched upon the importance of each of the subjects taught at the faculty and expressed the need to further increase the correspondence of subjects with specialties. He also emphasized the importance of preparing students as professional specialists who meet the requirements of the labor market. The Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty, Doctor of Philosophy in Technology, Goshgar Rasulov, made a comprehensive presentation on the results achieved in the past academic year, the number of newly admitted bachelor's and master's students to the faculty, as well as expectations for the new academic year. Finally, the opinions of the teachers teaching at the faculty were listened to and the importance of such meetings being continuous was noted.

The international scientific and telecommunications cooperation of the Faculty of Special Engineering and Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is expanding. The international training-seminar on the topic “Orbital Synergy: Global Perspectives of Space Communications” attended by faculty members was dedicated to the analysis of new development directions and recommendations of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-T and ITU-R). Representatives of 8 countries participated in the event organized by the International Satellite Communications Management. The seminar included presentations and extensive discussions on the opportunities and problems of connecting to the Internet of Things (IoT) via satellite communication, the regulation of mobile networks for Europe and Asia based on D2D (Device-to-Device) principles, as well as cybersecurity risks in space systems. Dean of the faculty, Associate Professor Yadullah Babayev, Professor Bayram Ibrahimov, and senior lecturer Malik Aliyev were presented with an ITU international certificate for their active participation in the training-seminar. This seminar, in addition to strengthening the faculty's international scientific reputation, further expands the university's opportunities for global cooperation in the field of space and telecommunications.

Seven students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) will study at Turkish universities on exchange in the fall semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. Some of them have won the right to study at prestigious Turkish universities for one semester under the “Turkey Scholarships for International Exchange” (TIES) program, while others have won the right to study at prestigious Turkish universities for one semester under bilateral cooperation. Thus, students of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications Inara Guliyeva and Dunya Ismayilova, as well as a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy Rahim Rahimli will study at Istanbul Jarrahpasha University and Gazi University, respectively, under the TIES program. Students of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications Aytaj Bunyadova and Sevinj Murselli, and a student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy Zarifa Kuluzadeh will continue their studies at Middle East Technical University (METU) within the framework of bilateral cooperation. Ali Jafarli, a student of the Faculty of Transport and Logistics, will study at Istanbul Kultur University. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev met with the students and wished them success in their studies and future activities.
