The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security awarded students who distinguished themselves in the field of cybersecurity at AzTU

The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCSIS) held another competition in the field of cybersecurity within the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year to assess the knowledge and skills of students studying at the bachelor's and master's levels at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). According to the final results, Rahimli Mahmud Samad oglu and Verdizade Omar Rufat oglu, 3rd-year students studying in the information security specialty of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, as well as Shukurlu Aydin Elbeyi oglu, who is studying in the security of state information systems at the master's level at the Institute of Higher Education of AzTU, were declared winners with special distinction. The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of the SCSIS, Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, Rector of AzTU, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and other representatives. During the speeches, the importance of the existing cooperation between state agencies and higher education institutions was highlighted, and it was emphasized that training young specialists in cybersecurity is one of the strategic priorities for the state. It was noted that within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the XRITDX and AzTU on November 5, 2022, competitions are regularly held for AzTU students and the winning students are awarded, and conditions are created for students studying in the field of information security to participate in events within the framework of the practical training program. The events carried out are of great importance in transforming students' theoretical knowledge into practical skills and strengthening the human resource potential of the cybersecurity field in the country. Then, the representatives of XRITDX got acquainted with the modern educational infrastructure of AzTU, as well as laboratories created with the support of the Service, updated classrooms for communication and telecommunications, as well as innovative learning environments and advanced educational technologies applied.

A training on the topic “The impact of financial literacy on career success” was held at the joint initiative of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Career and Employment Center and AccessBank. The goal was to strengthen students’ personal financial management skills, shape their financial behavior correctly, and explain the role of financial decisions in future career development. The training, organized by students of the Faculty of Industrial Economics and Management, was delivered to the attention of students by Khumar Huseynova, Head of the Education and Development Department of AccessBank, and Ilhama Rustamli, Head of the Business Partnership Department. The closing ceremony of the "Victory Tournament" was held at AzTU

The closing ceremony of the “Victory Tournament” organized by the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) on the occasion of November 8 - Victory Day and the 75th anniversary of the university was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). First, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. The “ZAFER” team, led by Sarvan Aziz, Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Doctor of Philosophy in National Security and Military Sciences, has won the “TUSAŞ Lift Up 2025 Industry-Oriented Graduation Project - Graduate Projects” competition announced by the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Company (TUSAŞ) within the framework of the 2025-2026 academic year. The “ZAFER” team, represented by a total of 5 students from AzTU, will carry out the project work on the topic of “Optimization of polishing parameters of bevel gears”. The industrial consultant of the project, which is implemented with the support of TUSAŞ, is Bahadir Kartal. Startup Days were held at AzTU

Startup Days were held at the Incubation Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Within the framework of the two-day program, students presented their innovative ideas and developed their projects in close cooperation with experts and mentors. On the first day of the event, welcoming the participants, President of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum and Head of the “Startup Azerbaijan” platform Osman Gunduz spoke about the development of the startup ecosystem in the country, the involvement of young people in innovative initiatives, and the importance of the event. Then, the speakers informed the students about the evaluation criteria and the requirements of the next stages. AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev made a presentation on the general concept, stages, and expectations of Startup Days, and also answered students' questions. On the first day of the event, 6 ideas were selected from 16 projects submitted by students and qualified for the next stage. Teams were formed based on the selected ideas, and conditions were created for these teams to develop their projects with the support of mentors. On the second day of the event, the teams formed the prototype of their projects and the presentation structure with the participation of experts and mentors. The teams were given extensive advice on project preparation, determining the right direction, teamwork, presentation techniques, and important points when speaking to the jury. After the teams presented their projects, the jury (Orkhan Ahmadov, Rashad Aliyev, Farid Kazimov, Gunel Mammadli, Aysel Sadiqova) evaluated the projects on innovativeness, focus on a current problem, technical justification, teamwork, and implementation potential. Based on the results, the “Lingo AI” team was awarded 1st place, the “Cyber ​​Defence with AI” team was awarded 2nd place, and the “Bridge to Abroad” team was awarded 3rd place.
