A cooperation memorandum has been signed between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Türkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU), and Türkiye’s National Ground Safety Institute (UZGE). Within the framework of this collaboration, joint activities are planned in the fields of scientific research, technology transfer, metrology, standardization, and the establishment of testing laboratories. According to the memorandum, the institutions will cooperate in implementing joint scientific projects, publishing articles in international scientific journals, and applying innovative solutions in industry. Additionally, UZGE specialists will conduct training sessions for AzTU and TAU students, providing opportunities for practical experience in laboratories. To support startup development and strengthen the innovation ecosystem, the institutions will also collaborate through Technology Transfer Offices.

A webinar on "Innovations in Foreign Language Teaching Methodology and Modern Trends" was organized by the Foreign Languages Department of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the webinar, Professor Sabina Almammadova, head of the Foreign Languages Department, along with lecturers Rashid Sultanov, Aydan Rahimova, and Aygul Khalilova, shared insights on various aspects of modern foreign language teaching.

Associate Professor Gültekin Coşkun, the head of Turkiye’s UZGE – National Ground Safety Institute, operating at the Technopark of Sivas Cumhuriyet University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). As part of the visit, he met with AzTU’s rector, Vilayat Valiyev. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Turkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU) and AzTU. During the meeting, Gültekin Coşkun provided information about the institute’s activities, stating that UZGE offers high-quality testing and certification services in the fields of metrology and flooring safety. In addition, the institute conducts research on the friction coefficients of various flooring materials and the safety of helicopter landing surfaces. He emphasized that collaboration with AzTU and TAU in these areas is a priority for the institute. Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the importance of cooperation between AzTU, TAU, and the institute, stating that it would be appropriate to implement a pilot project in the initial phase.

On February 2, the “GenZ FEST” festival was held at the Bazaar Square in White City in celebration of Azerbaijan Youth Day. The festival, organized by the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations' Union (ATGTI) with the support of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan, brought together more than 5,000 students. The event was attended by the chairman of the Student Youth Organization (TGT) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Ruslan Ganbarov, along with other members of the organization. As part of the festival, the names of the Student Youth Organizations that received the title of “Student Youth Organization of the Year” were announced. It was noted that due to its contributions to the country's socio-public life and its active engagement throughout the year, the AzTU Student Youth Organization was awarded the title of “Student Youth Organization of the Year.

An event dedicated to February 2 - Azerbaijan Youth Day - was held under the organization of the Trade Union Committee (TUC) and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). First, the dear memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was commemorated with a minute of silence, and the National Anthem was played. AzTU HIC Chairman Elvin Bakhtiyarli shared his congratulations on the occasion of Youth Day. He spoke about the youth policy implemented in the country and the attention and care shown to young people. The HIC Chairman noted that AzTU also holds various events and interactive competitions throughout the year to improve the knowledge and skills of students and young teachers, as well as their innovative ideas. AzTU Vice-Rector Rashad Aliyev reviewed the history of Youth Day. He remembered the initiator of this day, national leader Haydar Aliyev, and spoke about his role in the formation of youth policy and the work he did. Then, Ayten Shikhaliyeva, Head of the Human Resources Department of AzTU, Dr. Anar Amiraslanov, Head of the Dent House Group, and Samid Safarov, Head of the Prestige S Training Center, made speeches and congratulated the young people, wishing them success in their activities and always working on themselves. The results of the competition traditionally held by the HIC on the occasion of Youth Day were announced within the framework of the event. The competition was attended by young employees who defended their PhD dissertations during the year, published scientific articles, demonstrated activity in the public life of AzTU, and distinguished themselves with discipline. According to the results of the competition, Ramil Dadashov won the third place in the nomination "Promising Youth of the Year", Shamkhal Aliyev won the second place in the nomination "Professional Youth of the Year", and Rukhsara Seyfullaly won the first place, becoming the winner of the "AzTU Youth - 3" competition. The winners of the competition, as well as young employees who were distinguished for their discipline and contribution to the university's activities throughout the year, were presented with honorary certificates and gifts.

12 students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) will study abroad within the framework of the "Erasmus+ KA171" exchange program in the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Thus, undergraduate students of the "SABAH" groups Yunus Hashimov and Ayaz Bagirzadeh have earned the right to study for one semester at the Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, undergraduate students of the Faculty of Information and Telecommunications Technologies Ulviyya Mammadova and Sameddin Huseynli at Ankara University and Firat University in Turkiye, respectively, undergraduate student of the same faculty Sahib Bagirzadeh at Cluj-Napoca Technical University in Romania, undergraduate students of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Sabina Asker-zadeh and Elvin Huseynov at Zonguldak Bulent Ecevit University and Gazi University in Turkiye, respectively, undergraduate student of the same faculty Mirali Verdiyev at Brandenburg Technical University in Germany, and undergraduate student of the Faculty of Economics and Management Isirafil Shiriyev at Bucharest University of Economics in Romania. Also, master's students of the Institute of Higher Education Hamida Zeynalzade and Romil Masimov will undergo a 2-month internship at Bursa Technical University in Turkiye, and Nihad Ibrahimov will undergo a 2-month internship at Istanbul Okan University. AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev met with the students and wished them success in their classes and future activities.

Synergia Academy and Facility Management Group (FMG) companies, together with Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), as well as Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, have introduced a new program that supports the career development of young people. The program aims to support the professional activities of Azerbaijani youth with higher education between the ages of 18 and 30 and provide them with jobs in various business and commercial facilities under the jurisdiction of FMG. Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the relevance of such projects. He spoke about the importance of adapting university programs to the requirements of industry in the career development of students, as well as deepening cooperation with industry. Speaking later, Akif Gasimov, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Rena Efendiyeva, the Executive Director of Synergia Academy, and Ilham Allahverdiyev, the Executive Director of FMG, stated that the program will contribute to the economic development of Azerbaijan by creating career opportunities for young people. It should be noted that the "From Education to Career" program, a joint initiative of "Synergia Academy" and "FMG", aims to prepare young people for modern professional requirements and strengthen their long-term career prospects.

The Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the German company EPC Engineering & Technologies held a meeting to discuss cooperation opportunities in the field of filament technology. During the meeting, both parties exchanged extensive views on innovation, production opportunities and potential partnership directions. Technological presentations and information exchange were also discussed. Representatives of EPC provided extensive information on spinning technology. The next steps of the collaboration were then discussed, including research and educational opportunities. The application of "wet-spinning" at the laboratory level provides students and researchers with extensive learning and research opportunities, the development of various filament types such as "PAN", "Lyocell" and "Carbacell" and the organization of small-scale production.

Online trainings were organized within the framework of the "Development of Research Capacity through Institutional Repositories Network in Azerbaijan" (DIRNA) project of the "Erasmus+ KA2" program, of which Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is a partner. The trainings were conducted by Gültekin Gürdal, Head of the Library and Documentation Department of Izmir High Technology Institute the project's partner university. The trainings, organized to develop the research skills of academic staff, covered the topics of "The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Education and Research" and "Implementation Plan for Long-Term Support and Management of the Repository." The trainings were attended by Khayala Hajiyeva, director of the AzTU Library Information Center, Nubar Farhadzade, leading Specialist of the International Projects Sector, and Sevinj Rzayeva, senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Statistics. The two-day training provided information on the role and advantages of artificial intelligence, the use of artificial intelligence in research, artificial intelligence tools in education, and the implementation plan for the long-term support and management of the repository, and discussions were organized around the topics.

An international seminar on "Development of methods and models for increasing the efficiency of the city bus route network" was held within the framework of the "Preparation of an urban mobility plan" project implemented at AzTU. The goal was to increase and expand the pace of training highly qualified personnel at AzTU, and to pay special attention to the process of training highly qualified personnel and doctoral students, along with setting topics for master's dissertations within the project. Also, the seminar discussed solutions based on modern methods to improve mobility in the regions in general, in projects and research carried out at AzTU, and explored the possibilities of applying these solutions. In addition, new approaches to reducing time losses at route areas and stops in the bus route network, selecting buses that meet passenger demand on routes, and assessing the effectiveness of the route network were widely discussed and their importance was noted in a period of increasing traffic density. The results of the seminar were summarized and recommendations were made regarding the expansion of scientific research and the use of the results in the real route network. The event was attended by the rector of Tashkent Perfect University, Professor Daurenbek Ilesaliev Ikhtiyarovich, and professor of the Department of Automotive Engineering of Tashkent State Transport University, Akmal Mukhitdinov Anvarovich, deputy dean of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of Tashkent State Transport University, Ashurov Ortik Foziljonovich, as well as 4 students of Tashkent Perfect University. The guests met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, listened to a presentation about the university, and received information about the work done and new projects. It should be noted that the representatives named in the seminar are also members of the Dissertation Council operating at AzTU.
