On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the bloody January 20 tragedy, the leadership, staff and students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Turkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU) visited the Alley of Martyrs. The dear memory of the sons of the Motherland who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of our lands was commemorated, and carnations were laid on their graves.

The founding meeting of the Alumni Association was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) organized by the Career and Employment Center. The inaugural meeting was attended by MPs Zahid Oruj and Anar Mammadov, as well as veteran alumni consultant-professor Rahim Shukurov, as well as faculty members who are alumni of the university and about 300 AzTU graduates working in various enterprises, organizations and institutions. First, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyred graduates of AzTU who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played. Opening the event with an introductory speech, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev greeted all AzTU graduates, honorary guests of the event, faculty, and students participating in the meeting and noted that the founding meeting of the AzTU Alumni Association was one of the most prestigious and memorable days in the history of the university. The Rector said that the Alumni Association was established to create a deep bridge between AzTU graduates and the university, to transform these relations into more effective activities for the world of work, science, and education, to make serious contributions to the process of training highly qualified personnel for the country's industry together and with more effective steps, as well as to increase the prestige of AzTU at the international level. One of the honorary graduates of AzTU, currently a deputy of the national assembly, Chairman of the Board of the Center for Social Research, Zahid Oruj, first recalled his student years, compared the opportunities of AzTU in the past and present, and stated that current students are more fortunate. He wished that AzTU graduates who have contributed to the country's industry would be active in the regions, as well as in Karabakh and East Zangezur, and that new types of engineering schools would be established. The deputy emphasized that he believes in the future success of AzTU graduates in this direction. Another honorary graduate of AzTU, Anar Mammadov, currently a member of the national assembly, wished success to the university's Alumni Association and thanked the AzTU leadership for the trust and invitation. He said that he would do his best to help the AzTU Alumni Association in its activities. At the meeting, one of the first graduates of AzTU, a Presidential scholarship holder, consultant-professor Rahim Shukurov, who graduated from the university 72 years ago and worked for many years in the academic staff of the university, reviewed the historical development of the university in his speech. Rahim Shukurov spoke about the path the university has taken from the past to the present, about the specialists, scientists, statesmen and public figures trained here in different years, and about the role of AzTU in the development of our republic. He said that from the Soviet era to the present, AzTU graduates have been leading figures in the country's industry. The importance of the education provided by AzTU in developing various sectors of industry and meeting the needs of the country's engineering potential was especially emphasized. AzTU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Narmin Rzayeva made a presentation on the action plan of the Alumni Association. She stated that the main goal is to strengthen ties between the university and alumni, develop career and mentoring programs, organize alumni involvement in continuing education and courses, and create a flexible platform to ensure alumni support for the university. Then, the vice-rector provided detailed information to the event participants about the association's values, goals, surveys conducted with alumni, gaps, suggestions, and successful alumni associations of global universities. AzTU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov shared his views on the different content of AzTU, including technical universities, and the greater opportunities for the development of our country. Subhan Namazov shared his views on the activities of the initiative group for the establishment of the AzTU Alumni Association and his belief that the work of the Association will be successful for AzTU with the meeting participants. The Vice-Rector said that the AzTU Alumni Association will consist of the Board of Directors, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, the Coordinating Committee and members. Subhan Namazov expressed his belief that by connecting graduates with the university and the labor market, a modern platform will be formed in accordance with the requirements of the current era. At the founding meeting, AzTU Alumni unanimously supported the election of MP and honorary graduate of the university, Anar Mammadov, as Chairman of the AzTU Alumni Association.

A meeting was held with the graduates of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) (formerly Azerbaijan Polytechnic Institute) in 1970. The meeting was dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the graduates' graduation from the university. The meeting was attended by the rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, and the head of the Career and Employment Center, Ulviyya Rasulova. It was noted that the meeting was organized by Abil Aliyev, a representative of the group (665) of the electronic devices specialty of the former Faculty of Automation and Computing. Rector Vilayat Valiyev drew attention to the existing relations between AzTU and its alumni. He stated that AzTU alumni are very valuable for the university and relations with them will always be continued. The Rector spoke about the projects implemented at AzTU to further develop cooperation with alumni. In turn, the alumni shared the most interesting events they remembered from their university years.

70 students of Azerbaijan Technical University showed high results in international exams organized by the Center for Further Education on Innovative Technologies in Education (ITE). A total of 110 students participated in the exams. This success is an indicator of the international development of not only our students, but also Azerbaijani education. Exam areas: Cisco Certified Support Technician - Networking Cisco Certified Support Technician - Cybersecurity IT Specialist - Cybersecurity IT Specialist - Network Security These certifications increase the competitiveness of our students in the global job market and transform them into the IT professionals of the future.

In December, the Rector of the Azerbaijan Technical University, Prof. Dr Vilayat Valiyev officially announced the establishment of the University's Open Science Office! It should also be noted that the support provided by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Prof. Dr Subhan Namazov, to the Library Center in this area is undeniable. The OS Office will function within the framework of the university's Library Information Center and enjoy the complete support of the Rector's office. It is worth noting that this will be the first initiative among the higher education institutions of Azerbaijan and according to the Rector himself "will play a major role in developing Open Science activities at the country level in the future". The OS Office will be undertaking activities in support of the promotion of Open Science, thus supplementing the work that is already being done by the Azerbaijani NOADs, who will also be responsible for the activations overview and execution. The Office intends to base its activities on the OpenAIRE policies and procedures and will be focusing on activities across the country starting in 2025. The goal is for the OS Office to work in concert with the AzTU academic staff, as well as with representatives and scholars from other higher education institutions in Azerbaijan, all in accordance with the 2025 action plan that has been laid out by the local NOADs. The office will serve as an OA/ OS "hub" of sorts, providing support in the preparation of policies on Open Science, Open Access, Institutional Repositories, etc based on OpenAIRE policy guidelines, while at the same time educating and informing the community about OA resources and their use. This includes: Providing consultations on OS, OA, repositories, and other related topics; Organizing online and on-site trainings, webinars, and seminars in relevant fields; Forming of the OS Office page on the Library website; Sharing experiences and expertise on local or institutional Research Data Management (RDM) activities; Providing local RDM training; Raising awareness about Open Tools, OA repositories, OA databases, and other relevant resources. The Azerbaijani NOADs will mainly focus on organizing informative meetings about OS, OA initiatives and online consultations with interested parties for the duration of the Office's first year. The main goal of establishing the OS office is to support the openness of scientific results and the tools used to generate them, which allows for the sharing of science in general and new scientific achievements, as is the founding principle of Open Science. Professor Marco Rivera from the University of Nottingham, UK, held a seminar for employees of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on renewable energy sources in the world and in Azerbaijan and opportunities for research cooperation between the University of Nottingham and Azerbaijan Technical University. Welcoming the guest, AzTU Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Professor Nurali Yusifbeyli, highly appreciated the initiative to hold a seminar on this topic. He drew attention to the importance of studying the experience of leading universities in the world on the mentioned topics and the benefits of cooperation with them. At the end of the seminar, questions were answered.

The winter exam session of the fall semester of the 2024/2025 academic year began at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) at the bachelor's and master's (full-time) levels the 6th of January. The session will conclude on January the 31st . For those studying in part-time education, the exam session will cover January the 6th -10th. The exams are held in the relevant subjects for the I and II courses of full-time education in written (electronic), test and oral (with video recording), for the III and IV courses of full-time education in test and oral (with video recording) methods. For students studying in part-time education (I, II, III, IV, V courses), the exams are organized in the test method. At the master's level, all exams will be held in oral (with video recording) method. Students who did not participate in the exam during the session for valid reasons will be given the opportunity to take the exam in those subjects from February the 5th  to 15th . It should be noted that in order to control the course of the session and ensure transparency, the Appeals Commission, the Examination Headquarters and the "Hotline" (+99412 539 13 05) operate at AzTU.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) Elmi şurasının 2024-cü ildə keçirilmiş son genişləndirilmiş iclasında qəbul edilmiş qərarlara əsasən, Rektorun yanında Beynəlxalq Məşvərət Şurasının yaradılması və universitetin beynəlxalq reytinqlərdə və akademik nüfuzunun artırılması ilə bağlı mühüm addımların atılması qərara alınıb. Bu qərarların icrası çərçivəsində Biotibbi Mühəndislik İnstitutunun direktoru professor Nuran Abdullayevə verilən tapşırıqlara uyğun olaraq beynəlxalq elmi əməkdaşlıq və yeniliklərə dair vorkşop keçirilib. Görüşün əsas məqsədlərindən biri də tələbələrin elmə olan marağını artırmaq, onları beynəlxalq layihələrdə iştiraka həvəsləndirmək və müasir tədqiqat metodologiyalarını nümayiş etdirmək olub. Tədbiri giriş sözü ilə açan AzTU-nun Biotibbi Mühəndislik İnstitutunun direktoru professor Nuran Abdullayev bu istiqamətdə keçirilən tədbirlərin elmi inkişaf və tələbələrin gələcək karyera perspektivləri baxımından əhəmiyyətli bir addım olduğunu vurğulayıb. Daha sonra professor “Expertise in Mechanical Thrombectomy: Cutting-Edge Techniques for Improved Stroke Outcomes” mövzusunda çıxış edib. O, məruzəsində müasir tibb texnologiyaları və insultun müalicəsində mexaniki trombektomiya texnikalarının elmi əsasları barədə ətraflı məlumat verib və AzTU-nun professor-müəllim heyəti ilə müzakirə aparıb. Bununla yanaşı, Nuran Abdullayev Biotibbi Mühəndislik İnstitutunda mövcud tədqiqat imkanları və Avropanın aparıcı elmi institutları ilə birgə fəaliyyət perspektivləri barədə də fikirlərini bölüşüb. O, gənc elm adamları üçün universitetin yaratdığı imkanlardan da danışıb. Görüşdə həmçinin ABŞ-nin Massaçusets Universitetinin tələbəsi Kamran Ağayev müasir elektro mühəndislik sahəsində məruzə edib. Kamran Ağayev həm öz layihələrindən, həm də AzTU tələbələrinin Massaçusets Universiteti ilə birgə elmi fəaliyyət imkanlarından danışıb, auditoriyanın suallarını cavablandırıb. Bundan başqa, 2025-ci il üçün növbəti birgə layihələr və nəzərdə tutulan görüşlər barədə də müzakirə aparılıb.

Azerbaycan Texniki Universiteti (AzTU) tərəfindən tələbələrin tanınmış sənaye sertifikatlarını alması sahəsində aparılan çoxşaxəli işlər və dəstək çərçivəsində informasiya təhlükəsizliyi ixtisasında təhsil alan 80 tələbə "Cisco" şirkətinin iki sertifikat imtahanında iştirak edib.  32 tələbə “Cisco Certified Support Technician Cybersecurity”, 35 tələbə isə “Cisco Certified Support Technician Networking” sertifikatını qazanıb.  Qeyd edək ki, tələbələrin cavabları və nəticələr müxtəlif aspektlərdən analiz edilərək Kibertəhlükəsizlik kafedrasında tədris edilən müvafiq fənlərin sillabuslarının  təkmilləşdirilməsində istifadə olunacaq.

AzTU-nun həyat fəaliyyətinin təhlükəsizliyi mühəndisliyi ixtisası üzrə təhsil alan tələbələri proqram (ixtisas) rəhbəri dosent Natiq Paşanın müşaiəti ilə Fövqəladə Hallar Nazirliyinin (FHN) Sumqayıt Regional Mərkəzinə ekskursiya ediblər. Əvvəlcə mərkəzin akt zalında aidiyyəti idarələrin məsul əməkdaşları tələbələrə master klass keçib. FHN-in fəaliyyəti haqqında video çarx təqdim edildikdən sonra nazirliyin strukturuna daxil olan qurumların fəaliyyət istiqamətləri və fövqəladə hallar zamanı həyata keçirilən tədbirlərlə bağlı tələbələrə məlumat verilib. Mülki müdafiə işinin təşkili, yanğın təhlükəsizliyi və yanğınlara müdaxilə qaydaları, həmçinin fövqəladə hallar zamanın davranış qaydaları da tələbələrin diqqətinə çatdırılıb. Tələbələr xüsusi təyinatlı nəqliyyat vasitələrinə baxış keçirib, avadanlıqlar və xüsusi ekipaj tərəfindən onların istifadəsi, döyüş açılışı və taktiki texniki xüsusiyyətləri barədə vacib məlumatlar əldə ediblər. Ekskursiyanın sonunda FHN Sumqayıt Regional Mərkəzinin rəisi polkovnik Vaqif Fətullayev tələbələrlə görüşüb, təcrübə və tövsiyələrini bölüşüb və onların suallarını cavablandırıb.
