The III International Conference on “Sustainable Development Strategy: Global Trends, National Experience and New Goals” has begun its work within the framework of the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” and is jointly organized by Mingachevir State University (MSU), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Gazi University of Turkey and “HBN Group”.
The main goal of the conference is to present the results of scientific research conducted in relevant areas, taking into account the realities of the post-historical Victory achieved thanks to the determination of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev and the valor of the brave Azerbaijani army.
The conference aims to create a scientific discussion platform on topics covering the tasks arising from the “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”, approved by the relevant Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 2, 2021, as well as the United Nations “Transforming our World: Agenda for Sustainable Development until 2030”.
The participants of the event first visited the monument to the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Then, an exhibition of startup projects prepared by students was viewed in the lobby of MSU.
The opening ceremony of the conference began with a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader and our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands. Then the National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played.
Welcoming the guests, the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Power, Ilham Ismayilov, wished success to the work of the conference.
MSU Rector Anar Eminov said that the event included more than 600 theses and articles by scientists and researchers from 19 countries of the world, as well as 24 higher education and research centers in Azerbaijan. The Rector noted that Mingachevir State University, as the main host of this international scientific conference, attaches special importance to the discussion of new knowledge and innovative approaches in line with global challenges. According to him, the concept of "Sustainable Development" has become one of the main directions in determining both national development strategies and future goals of higher education.
AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that the conference is an important platform for discussing global trends in the field of science, technology and innovation. The Rector noted that in modern times, changes related to artificial intelligence, green energy, cybersecurity, digitalization and the fourth industrial revolution affect all spheres of society. He stressed the importance of expanding inter-university cooperation in order for Azerbaijani universities to adapt to these changes.
After the opening speeches, the conference continued with protocol speeches in accordance with the program.
The three-day conference continues with breakout sessions.
The closing ceremony of the conference will be held on December 8 at AzTU. The closing session is intended to highlight the results achieved during the conference and the prospects for future cooperation, and to adopt a final decision.
