Incubation Center opened at AzTU

The opening ceremony of the Incubation Center was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by the university administration, representatives of state institutions, organizations operating in the field of innovation, and students. Osman Gunduz, Rector's Advisor on Digital Issues, emphasized the need to promote innovative thinking and startup culture at AzTU and said that the Incubation Center established at the university will be an important platform for the realization of students' ideas. Osman Gunduz noted that this center is an initiative that will add value not only to the university, but also to the country's innovation ecosystem in general. Then, AzTU Incubation Center Coordinator Azad Musayev made a speech and provided information about the purpose of the center's creation, the goals set, and the planned areas of activity. He said that the center will provide students with the opportunity to turn their ideas into startup projects, develop their technological skills, and participate in various mentoring programs. Wishing success to the work of the center, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the innovation-oriented activities carried out at the university. The rector noted that the activities of the AzTU Incubation Center will serve to reveal the creative potential of students, direct scientific results to application, and strengthen the university's innovation strategy. Vilayat Valiyev said that the university plans to closely cooperate with state agencies, the private sector, and international partners in this direction. Turkey's first astronaut Alper Gezeravci was a guest of AzTU

Turkey's first cosmonaut, military pilot Alper Gezeravci was a guest of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guest met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Veliyev. Then, Alper Gezeravci toured the university. He also got acquainted with the "Engineer Development Program" (MGP) workshop. It was noted that the MGP workshop was established within the framework of cooperation between the Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAIC) and AzTU. At the workshop, Alper Gezeravci was also given detailed information about the defense-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) jointly developed by students of AzTU and the National Aviation Academy (NAA). It was noted that the UAV in question was developed as a result of the "AzTU-Turkish Aerospace, MGP 2023.1" highly qualified engineering training program implemented within the framework of joint cooperation between AzTU, TAIC and NAA. The UAV has the function of distinguishing between enemy and friendly soldiers by the colors of their uniforms (berets). The UAV can carry out its mission by flying at an altitude of 50 meters. The total duration of the process is 14 minutes. During the flight, the enemy coordinates are automatically calculated by the program, the general basic data is analyzed and transmitted to the Ground Control Station. The flight is carried out by controlling the direction of the UAV based on the data displayed on the Ground Station Interface (GUI).

AzTU delegation held a working visit to Israel

The delegation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held an official visit to the State of Israel. The main goal of the visit was to establish and expand cooperation between AzTU and leading universities in the fields of scientific research, education and innovation. Within the framework of the visit, the delegation visited leading higher education institutions in Israel such as Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Holon Institute of Technology, the Check Point cybersecurity company, and the Jerusalem Innovation Center. During the meetings, the AzTU delegation provided extensive information about the university they represent. It was emphasized that AzTU is interested in cooperation in the implementation of bilateral educational and research projects, teacher-student exchange, participation in international rankings, writing joint scientific articles, implementing dual diplomas and scientific supervision. A delegation from the Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of joint scientific research works with professors, teachers, master's and doctoral students working in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in organizing joint training programs and "bootcamps" in this field.
