On April 17, 2025, a seminar on the ISO 21001:2018 – Management System for Educational Organizations Standard was organized at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) by the Quality Association. The event brought together active participation from staff members representing various faculties and structural units of the university. The main objective of the seminar was to provide detailed information to participants about the core principles, structure, and implementation mechanisms of the ISO 21001:2018 standard, as well as to emphasize its role in the development and enhancement of quality assurance systems in higher education institutions. During the seminar, presentations were delivered by experts from the Quality Association, showcasing real-world examples and discussing the practical significance of the standard. Participants also engaged in discussions focused on the potential for implementing ISO 21001:2018 at AzTU, and their questions were addressed by the presenters. At the end of the event, the Quality Assurance Department of AzTU conducted a feedback survey to assess the effectiveness of the seminar. The insights gathered will serve as a reference for improving the quality of future training and awareness activities. Such educational events play a vital role in strengthening the culture of quality at the university, promoting the adoption of international standards, and ensuring continuous institutional development.

A meeting was held with the participation of students and young people in joint cooperation between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education. Within the framework of the meeting, first, an exchange of views was held between the vice-rectors of the university and the members of the Public Council on higher education management, social welfare of students and quality of education. The participants took part in an info tour covering a number of faculties and administrative areas of the university. After the National Anthem of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland, a panel meeting with the participation of more than 300 students began. At the opening of the event, AzTU Vice-Rector for Social Affairs and Public Relations Narmin Rzayeva and Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Science and Education Hikmet Alizadeh spoke and provided information on the importance of public control in higher education, the role of open dialogue with students and the activities carried out in this direction. Then, interactive panel discussions were organized with students. They shared their views on the educational process and voiced current difficulties. During the discussions, ideas were exchanged on topics such as expanding internship opportunities, increasing student participation in decision-making, and promoting activism in university life. At the end of the event, thanks were expressed to the AzTU Student Youth Organization for organizing the meeting. Such initiatives are of great importance in terms of listening to students' opinions and promoting participation in the higher education system.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held a commemorative event titled “Who Remembers Me” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the renowned National Poet of Azerbaijan, Nabi Khazri. The event was organized by the Department of Humanities in collaboration with the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC). The celebration brought together an esteemed group of attendees, including members of the poet’s family and relatives—Arzu Babayev, Parikhanim Aliyeva, Gulumsar Abbasova, Sariyya Baghirova, and Natavan Aliyeva. Distinguished guests also included Sanan Talibov from the Ministry of Culture; People's Artist and Head of the Stage Speech Department at the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts (ASUCA), Professor Mammadsafa Gasimov; Doctor of Art Studies, Professor Abbasgulu Najafzade from the Azerbaijan National Conservatory; Head of Department and Associate Professor Firudin Gurbansoy; Almas Baghirova, granddaughter of poet Ahmad Javad; and Leyla Akhundzade, daughter of Dilbar Akhundzade, wife of poet Mikayil Mushfig. AzTU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Subhan Namazov, highlighted Nabi Khazri’s legacy not only as a poet but also as a prominent public figure. The program featured musical performances by AzTU graduate and winner of TRT Music’s "Ben Țarkı Söylersem" competition, Farhad Rahimli, and Jeyhun Ganbarov, Head of the Republican Youth House of Artistic Creativity Association. Students from Azerbaijan Technical University and Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts performed popular songs composed to the poet’s lyrics, including “Güllərim,” “Külək,” “Heç küsmeğin yeridirmi, yar?”, “Nar ağacı, nar çiçəyi,” and “Azerbaijan.” A musical-literary composition titled “Deniz, Goy, Aşiqəm Sənə” was presented by students from Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Fine Arts to honor the poet’s centenary. In recognition of his contributions to the composition, Professor and People's Artist Mammadsafa Gasimov received a letter of appreciation. Head of the Department of Humanities at AzTU, Habib Mirzayev, spoke about the poet’s literary significance, emphasizing the recurring motifs of the Caspian Sea and the plane tree in Khazri’s poetry—symbols of his deep connection to nature and national identity. Speaking on behalf of the poet’s family, his son Arzu Babayev expressed gratitude to AzTU for organizing the event and honoring his father’s memory. He also recited Nabi Khazri’s poem “My Heart.” The event concluded with the screening of a video documentary reflecting the life and creative journey of Nabi Khazri.

Representatives of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) took part in International Cooperation Week hosted by Alte University in Tbilisi, Georgia. Manzar Mammadli, Head of the International Cooperation and Exchange Sector of AzTU’s International Relations Department, and Aysel Badalova, Chief Specialist of the same sector, represented the university at the event. The week-long program brought together representatives from eight universities across Azerbaijan, Turkey, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, and Ukraine. The agenda focused on key themes such as internationalization strategies, global cooperation, university rankings, and the enhancement of academic mobility. A series of workshops and an exhibition were also held, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and networking. During the event, AzTU representatives engaged in productive discussions with counterparts from participating universities and members of Alte University’s International Relations Department. As a result of the visit, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Azerbaijan Technical University and Alte University, marking a new step forward in fostering academic and research cooperation.

A delegation from prominent Turkish universities visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) for discussions on enhancing academic collaboration and exploring new areas of cooperation. The delegation included Professor Eyüp Debik, Rector of Yıldız Technical University, Vatan Karakaya, Vice-Rector of Yıldız Technical University, Özer Çınar, Chief Advisor to the Rector, Professor Şenol Ataoğlu, Vice-Rector of Istanbul Technical University, Professor Hasari Çelebi, Vice-Rector of Gebze Technical University, and Neciba Nasibova, Educational Advisor at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Turkey. Ismayil Nasirov, Deputy Head of the State Agency for Safe Conduct of Work in Industry and Mining Supervision, and Mammad Bagirzadeh, Director of the Scientific Research Institute, visited AzTU for the official signing ceremony. Anabaci Amiraslanova and Orkhan Salmanov, first-year students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), have achieved 3rd place in the international Constructor Spring Challenge 2025. The competition, focused on mathematics and programming, was organized by the prestigious Constructor University in Germany in collaboration with the Constructor Talent School. Competing individually, both AzTU students were awarded "Bronze" certificates in recognition of their outstanding performance. The Constructor Spring Challenge is held annually for students aged 14–18 and is recognized as a highly competitive platform for young scientific minds. Participants from around the world— including countries such as Azerbaijan, the United States, Germany, Russia, Turkey, and Denmark —demonstrate their intellectual abilities and problem-solving skills in a dynamic and challenging environment. This success highlights the strong academic foundation and growing international competitiveness of AzTU students in STEM fields.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) made a strong impression at the International Education Fair held over two days in Istanbul, Turkey. Representing AzTU at the exhibition were Orkhan Vatankhah, Head of the International Relations Department; Emin Abiyev, Head of the Master’s Programs Center of the Higher Education Institute; Zemfira Suleymanova, Head of the Foreign Students Admission Sector; and Khanim Agadadashova, Leading Specialist of the same sector. On the first day of the visit, the AzTU delegation paid visits to the International Community School and the Koç School, where they held productive meetings with both school administrations and students. During these sessions, the team presented comprehensive information about AzTU’s academic programs, international partnerships, educational opportunities, and the supportive environment the university offers its students. AzTU’s participation in the fair served as a valuable opportunity to expand international relationships, strengthen academic collaboration, and promote the university as a leading destination for higher education in the region. On the second day of the visit, the AzTU delegation took part in the International Education Exhibition, where they engaged directly with prospective students from Turkey and other countries, as well as their parents. Throughout the event, the university representatives provided detailed information about AzTU’s academic environment, its strong foundation in technical disciplines, state-of-the-art laboratories, and growing international collaborations. AzTU’s exhibition stand attracted significant interest from attendees. The university’s presentations were met with enthusiasm and received high praise for their clarity, professionalism, and informative content.

This important achievement is an indicator of international recognition of AzTU in key areas of activity such as teaching, research, management, diversity, equality and inclusion, graduate employment, infrastructure provision, international cooperation, social impact, innovation and knowledge transfer. The “QS Stars” system supports the global recognition of higher education institutions by evaluating their strength and areas of development potential using objective criteria. It should be noted that compared to Turkey and the countries of the Central Asian region, Azerbaijan is in a leading position in the number of higher education institutions whose activities have been evaluated with 5 stars (“excellent”) for the first time in the “QS Stars” rating system.

A seminar titled “Maximizing Speaking Time” was held for English language instructors from the Department of Foreign Languages at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Organized under the leadership of Professor Sabina Almammedova, Head of the Department, the seminar featured Jordan Taylor Brown, a U.S. English language specialist, as the main trainer. The event also welcomed English language expert Tiffany Tillman as a guest of honor. During the seminar, participants explored international best practices and took part in interactive activities designed to enhance students' speaking skills. The hands-on approach allowed faculty members to engage in practical exercises and discussions tailored to modern language teaching methodologies. Following the seminar, participants applied the techniques and approaches they had learned by developing personalized lesson plans aimed at increasing student engagement in speaking activities. the conclusion of the event, all participants were awarded certificates in recognition of their active involvement and commitment to professional growth.
