Bakıda keçirilən COP29 tədbirlərində iştirak edən Pakistan İslam Respublikasının Baş nazirinin Gənclik Proqramı üzrə müşaviri Fahad Shahbaz və Dünya reytinqlərində nüfuzlu yerə sahib olan Lahor Universitetinin əməliyyatlar və xüsusi layihələr üzrə direktoru Abuzar Ghaffari Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) qonağı olub. Qonaqlar AzTU-nun rektoru Vilayət Vəliyev və universitetin nümayəndələri ilə görüşüblər. Görüşdə müxtəlif istiqamətlərdə əməkdaşlıq imkanları müzakirə olunub. Həmçinin mühəndislik sahəsində birgə tədqiqatların yerinə yetirilməsi, müəllim-tələbə mübadiləsi ilə bağlı da fikir mübadiləsi aparılıb.

Tədqiqatçı professor, tibb elmləri doktoru Nuran Abdullayev Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) Biotibbi Mühəndislik İnstitutuna rəhbər təyin olunub. Qeyd edək ki, Almaniya Azərbaycanlıları Alyansının rəhbəri, Almaniya-Azərbaycan Radioloji və Neyroradioloji Cəmiyyətinin sədri Nuran Abdullayev bir müddətdir AzTU-da tədqiqatçı professor olaraq fəaliyyət göstərir. O, Data mühəndisliyinin inkişafı və Süni intellekt həllərinin yaradılması istiqamətində tədqiqatların formalaşması və kadr hazırlığı, xüsusilə bu sahədə doktorantlara elmi rəhbərlik etməklə tədqiqat məktəbinin təşkilinə dəstək verir. Yeni rəhbəri kollektivə təqdim edən AzTU-nun rektoru Vilayət Vəliyev Biotibbi Mühəndislik İnstitutunun apardığı tədqiqatların səhiyyədə Data elminin və Süni intellekt həllərinin inkişaf etdirilməsi, bu istiqamətdə beynəlxalq təcrübənin öyrənilməsi və tətbiqinə mühüm töhfələr verəcəyini bildirib.

A delegation from Nigeria, attending the COP29 events in Baku, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and other university representatives. During the meeting, they discussed potential collaboration between AzTU and Nigerian universities, as well as opportunities for joint research initiatives.

Representatives of the global SAP company, Yuri Kupriianov and Wissam Kadi, conducted training sessions for AzTU students. The sessions were designed for students from the Faculties of Economics and Management, and Information and Communication Technologies. The SAP representatives, specializing in enterprise management, engaged students in managing businesses and making rational decisions using the "Business Builders Game" method in group settings. Following this, a panel discussion titled "Developing the Necessary Skills to Prepare Youth for an Agile and Dynamic World" was organized for AzTU’s academic staff. Faculty members from the Department of Economics and Statistics took part in the discussion. Additionally, a group of AzTU faculty and students visited SAP's Green Zone pavilion during COP29, where they discussed the company’s various products and solutions.

A final report meeting was held in Kazakhstan as part of the "ERASMUS+KA2" program project, titled "Strategic Quality Management and Risk Management in Healthcare in the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan: Open and Distance Education for Professional Bachelor's and Master's Programs" (LMQS), in which Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is a partner. The meetings, hosted by Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Rus-Kazakh Medical University, and Kazakh National Medical University, took place in Almaty. During the sessions, the progress of the project and the results achieved were presented. The representative of the University of West Attica, the coordinating institution of the LMQS project, provided an overview of the documentation requirements for project outcomes and financial reporting to the partner universities. AzTU was represented by Associate Professor Sevinj Rzayeva from the Department of Economics and Statistics, Senior Specialist Nabat Cabbarova, and Leading Specialist Nubar Farhadzade from the International Relations Department.

A meeting was held with representatives from several leading libraries in Azerbaijan and an IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions) representative, organized by the Library of ADA University. AzTU was represented at the meeting by Khayala Hajiyeva, Director of the Library and Information Center. IFLA representative Claire McGuire delivered a presentation on "Academic Libraries and Climate-related Activities: The Role of Libraries in Climate Change Research." The discussion focused on the involvement of academic libraries in climate change research, the information services they provide to researchers in this field, and future actions to further support this area.

In the context of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku, the results of the "QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025", which is one of the most influential ranking tables in the world, have been announced. According to the results, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) (1501+) has been included in the list of the world's best universities for the first time. The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, and QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) jointly conducted the event, and the "World University Ranking: Sustainability ranking 2025" certificate was presented to AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev.

  A delegation from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) of Pakistan, participating in the 29th session of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29), visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and other university representatives. Rector Valiyev shared information about the ongoing initiatives at AzTU and highlighted the significance of the discussions held during COP29. He also expressed AzTU's interest in expanding its collaboration with NUST in areas such as "Quacquarelli Symonds" (QS), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and other global and regional university rankings.  

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has announced the commencement of a green energy project marking its contribution to the 29th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).  A conference titled "Climate Solutions for Sensitive Countries" was organized at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) through a joint initiative between AzTU and the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI). The objective was to explore appropriate technological solutions for individuals and communities in vulnerable developing countries, including smart technologies that can facilitate the mobilization of finance, low-cost and affordable tools for climate change mitigation and adaptation, and ways to mitigate the loss and damage caused by the negative effects of climate change. In addition, comprehensive analyzes were presented at the conference to identify actionable recommendations for reducing the impact of climate change and developing adaptation in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals. At the conference, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev underscored the event's importance during the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Azerbaijan. He emphasized that combating climate change is a universal challenge that affects all nations, regardless of their development level. Rector announced two project initiatives of AzTU in the context of "Sustainable University" as a contribution to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The first project is called "Protection and sustainable management of water resources in countries vulnerable to climate change". This research project, aimed at countries in need of efficient management of water resources, including Azerbaijan, will include technical and economic evaluations of rainwater harvesting, waste water recycling, seawater desalination in coastal areas, and sustainable management of water resources of nohur and marshes. The second project concerns the supply of green energy to the Green Technology Park that AzTU will create on a one-hectare area. Solar panels with a total capacity of 1.5 megawatts will be installed on the roofs of the buildings in the park. In addition to generating electricity, the panels will also act as windows to let in natural light. With the implementation of the project, AzTU will autonomously supply the needs of its campus with green energy, as well as supply the surrounding facilities with energy. Speaking later, Mujdat Hasanov, head of the International Cooperation Department of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education, stated that research on climate change has increased in higher education institutions in recent years and noted the importance of regional and international cooperation in this field. He said that the event held at AzTU plays the role of a platform and it is necessary to hold it regularly. Tetsushi Sonobe, director of ADBI, welcomed the participants and expressed his satisfaction with the COP29 event hosted in Azerbaijan. He stated that the conference organized in collaboration with AzTU contributes to COP29. Highlighting ADBI's role as a "think tank" that addresses global challenges like climate change, he noted that similar conferences would be held as part of a series. The event proceeded with panel sessions focused on various climate-related topics.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetində (AzTU) Humanitar fənlər kafedrasının və Tələbə Həmkaralar İttifaqı Komitəsinin (THİK) birgə təşkilatçılığı ilə dahi Azərbaycan şairi Məhəmməd Füzulinin 530 illiyi qeyd olunub. AzTU-nun Humanitar fənlər kafedrasının müdiri Həbib Mirzəyev əsrlərdən bəri qorunub saxlanılan və bu gün də öz aktuallığını itirməyən şərqin dahi söz ustası Məhəmməd Füzuli yaradıcılığının Azərbaycan xalqının dünya mədəniyyəti xəzinəsinə dəyərli töhfə olduğunu bildirib. O, yüksək bədii sənətkarlıq keyfiyyətləri ilə seçilən şairin öz qüdrətli sənət əsərləri ilə ədəbi məktəb yaratdığını, Azərbaycan ədəbiyyatı tarixində silinməz izlər qoymuş bu söz ustadının bədii irsinə bu gün də yüksək qiymət verildiyini, bu irsin müasir dövrümüzdə də insanların mənəvi kamilləşməsinə xidmət etdiyini deyib. Həbib Mirzəyev öz çıxışında ulu öndər Heydər Əliyevin dahi şair haqqında dediyi dəyərli fikirləri də diqqətə gətirib, həmçinin Füzuli yaradıcılığının ölkə və dünya ictimaiyyətinə daha dolğun çatdırılması məqsədilə keçirilən tədbirlərin əhəmiyyətini xüsusi vurğulayıb.  Daha sonra çıxış edən AMEA Nizami Gəncəvi adına Ədəbiyyat İnstitutunun elmi işçisi Orxan İsayev və Humanitar fənlər kafedrasının dosenti Afaq Zeynalova Füzulinin mənşəyinin azərbaycanlı, dilinin isə Azərbaycan-türk dili olduğunu xüsusi qeyd edərək, dahi şairin "Leyli və Məcnun" əsərinin ölkə ədəbiyyatının incisi olmaqla yanaşı, bütün müsəlman dünyasının ədəbi mühitində mühüm yer tutması, Məhəmməd Füzulinin qələmə aldığı əsərlərin təkcə Azərbaycan ədəbi-bədii fikrinin inkişafına deyil, Yaxın və Orta Şərq ölkələri ədəbiyyatına mühüm təsir göstərdiyini vurğulayıblar. Tədbirin bədii hissəsində ADMİU-nun tələbəsi Ceyran Abbaslı dahi şairin qəzəlləri əsasında bəstələnmiş məşhur “Füzuli” kantatasını, AzTU-nun tələbəsi Əli Əliyev isə “Əql yar olsaydı” əsərini çox ustalıqla ifa ediblər. Daha sonra AzTU tələbələrinin Füzulinin lirikasından hazırladıqları kompozisiyalar, o cümlədən şairin həyatı və yaradıcılığına dair videoçarx nümayiş olunub. Tədbir Məhəmməd Füzulinin eyniadlı poeması əsasında yazılmış “Leyli və Məcnun” operasından səsləndirilən musiqi sədaları altında yekunlaşıb.
