Turkey's first cosmonaut, military pilot Alper Gezeravci was a guest of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guest met with AzTU Rector Vilayat Veliyev. Then, Alper Gezeravci toured the university. He also got acquainted with the "Engineer Development Program" (MGP) workshop. It was noted that the MGP workshop was established within the framework of cooperation between the Turkish Aerospace Industries Corporation (TAIC) and AzTU. At the workshop, Alper Gezeravci was also given detailed information about the defense-purpose unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) jointly developed by students of AzTU and the National Aviation Academy (NAA). It was noted that the UAV in question was developed as a result of the "AzTU-Turkish Aerospace, MGP 2023.1" highly qualified engineering training program implemented within the framework of joint cooperation between AzTU, TAIC and NAA. The UAV has the function of distinguishing between enemy and friendly soldiers by the colors of their uniforms (berets). The UAV can carry out its mission by flying at an altitude of 50 meters. The total duration of the process is 14 minutes. During the flight, the enemy coordinates are automatically calculated by the program, the general basic data is analyzed and transmitted to the Ground Control Station. The flight is carried out by controlling the direction of the UAV based on the data displayed on the Ground Station Interface (GUI).

The delegation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) held an official visit to the State of Israel. The main goal of the visit was to establish and expand cooperation between AzTU and leading universities in the fields of scientific research, education and innovation. Within the framework of the visit, the delegation visited leading higher education institutions in Israel such as Tel Aviv University, Bar-Ilan University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Holon Institute of Technology, the Check Point cybersecurity company, and the Jerusalem Innovation Center. During the meetings, the AzTU delegation provided extensive information about the university they represent. It was emphasized that AzTU is interested in cooperation in the implementation of bilateral educational and research projects, teacher-student exchange, participation in international rankings, writing joint scientific articles, implementing dual diplomas and scientific supervision. As part of the visit, the delegation also participated in the 4th Annual Seminar of HUT and its Eurasian and Balkan Partners on “Artificial Intelligence, Resilience and Digital Heritage” organized at the Holon University of Technology (HUT). Rahid Alakbarli delivered a report at the seminar. It should be noted that the delegation was represented by Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Rahid Alakbarli, Director of the Institute for Defense Technologies and Cybersecurity, and Elshan Gurbanov, Head of the Project Management Sector of the International Relations Department.

An educational event was organized for students under the motto “A healthy mind in a healthy body” by the Communication Department of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Student Polyclinic No. 1. Mehti Namazov, an employee of the Communication Department, noted at the event held within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that physical and psychological health are the main factors determining every success. He noted that AzTU attaches great importance to organizing such educational events. Doctors of the Student Polyclinic - therapist Najiba Guliyeva and infectious disease specialist Gulnara Allahverdiyeva - educated students about allergic diseases, including chickenpox, and methods of struggling these diseases. They informed young people about the correct behavior and preventive measures against the mentioned diseases, and advised them to follow hygiene rules.

A meeting was held to expand cooperation opportunities between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and SOCAR. The meeting was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and university representatives, as well as SOCAR Deputy Vice President Ayten Farzaliyeva, Head of the Talent Management and Business Partnership Department Ulker Behbudova, SOCAR “Downstream Management” Human Resources and Business Partnership Manager Narmin Abdullayeva, and Head of the Recruitment Department of the Head Office Hamid Israfilov. Rector Vilayat Valiyev provided information on projects implemented at AzTU in recent years and work done within the framework of university-industry cooperation. The meeting discussed the areas of cooperation such as organizing students’ industrial experience at SOCAR enterprises, implementing joint scientific and research projects, exchanging experiences between teachers and specialists, as well as jointly organizing seminars and trainings. SOCAR Deputy Vice President Ayten Farzaliyeva provided information about the company's "Young Talents" program, as well as the opportunities created for universities. She also noted information about the internship programs that AzTU graduates have undergone at SOCAR and their subsequent employment rates. At the end of the meeting, an exchange of views was held between the parties on the signing of a memorandum of understanding to formalize mutual cooperation.

The scientific research and letter of Nuran Abdullayev, Director of the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Director of the Clinic in the Rhein-Sieg Region of Germany, were published in the journal “New England Journal of Medicine” (NEJM). In the article, Nuran Abdullayev commented on the differences between two drugs used in the treatment of obesity – “Tirzepatid” (GIP-GLP-1 receptor agonist - “Mounjaro”) and “Semaglutide” (GLP-1 receptor agonist - “Wegovy”) in a scientific context. The professor emphasized that although these studies mainly focus on weight loss and metabolic outcomes, important components such as visceral adiposity, changes in muscle mass, and bone mineral density (BMD) have not yet been sufficiently studied. He proposed, on a scientific basis, the application of modern imaging methods such as MRI-based body composition measurements and DXA+MRI combination for future studies in order to fully assess the effects of these drugs on metabolic health and the skeletal system. It should be noted that the publication of any article in the "New England Journal of Medicine", one of the most prestigious medical journals in the world, is considered a major event in the medical world and a high scientific achievement for the author. Published since 1812, this journal is considered the most authoritative scientific source in the field of clinical medicine. NEJM, published in the USA, is one of the journals with the highest Impact Factor among all medical publications in the world. A very strict selection process is carried out for the acceptance of articles in the journal. Thus, a very small part of the articles submitted for publication - only 10 percent, especially scientific articles with deep scientific justification and international importance, are published. The works published in the journal, which has a large readership, are read by doctors, scientists, high-ranking health policymakers and commissions that prepare international clinical protocols around the world. The publication of any article in this journal, which has the potential to influence changes in treatment standards, demonstrates the high scientific and clinical value of that work on a global scale.

A delegation from the Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of joint scientific research works with professors, teachers, master's and doctoral students working in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as the possibilities of cooperation in organizing joint training programs and "bootcamps" in this field. Rector Vilayat Valiyev expressed his satisfaction with the existing fruitful cooperation between the Ministry of Defense Industry and AzTU. The Rector noted that expanding relations with the Ministry of Defense Industry, especially strengthening the joint activities of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology with the enterprises of the MDI, is of particular importance in terms of training engineering personnel. Representatives of the MDI emphasized the importance of projects implemented jointly with AzTU within the framework of university-industry cooperation. They provided extensive information about the new scientific and innovative project planned to be implemented by the MDI in the near future. At the meeting, both sides exchanged detailed views on the purpose of the project, the goals set, and future directions of cooperation. Finally, it was agreed to jointly launch the project in the near future.

The “Regional University-Industry Union Summit 2025” was organized by Mingachevir State University (MSU), the Azerbaijan-Turkey Businessmen’s Union (ATIB) and “HBN Group”. Anar Eminov, the rector of MSU, spoke about the goals and importance of the summit. He said that the “Regional University-Industry Union Summit 2025” is an important step in terms of strengthening the mechanisms of mutual cooperation between educational institutions and industrial entities in the regions of the country, increasing the employment and innovation potential of young people. The speakers noted the importance of cooperation between higher education institutions and industry, emphasizing that such events are of great importance in the development of this cooperation. A Career Fair was organized within the framework of the summit jointly with the State Employment Agency. The stand of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was also displayed at the exhibition. It should be noted that AzTU was represented at the summit by Elvin Bakhtiyarli, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee, Azer Bayramov, Director of the SmartTech Innovators Center, and Sahib Askerov, an employee of the Technology Transfer Center.

As part of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) exchange program, Pascal Heyman, founder of Berlin Speaking and lecturer at Potsdam University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). As part of the visit, Pascal Heyman underwent a training called “Pitch Training” dedicated to the development of startup projects and strengthening presentation skills of young teachers. The training, organized by AzTU’s “SmartTech” Innovators Center, aimed to help participants present their innovative ideas, prepare effective pitches for products and projects, and increase their knowledge of the German startup ecosystem. During the training, organized in an interactive format, participants developed their public speaking, presentation, body language, and storytelling skills through both theoretical knowledge and practical tasks. During the sessions, students and teachers presented their startup ideas and received individual feedback and mentor support. At the end of the training, participants presented pitch presentations on their project ideas and received individual feedback and recommendations from a specialist.

An educational meeting with foreign students was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) within the framework of the project “Migration rules, medical accessibility and country promotion among foreign students studying in Azerbaijan”. Orkhan Vatankhah, Head of the International Relations Department of AzTU, made a speech and provided information about the innovations implemented in connection with the new academic year and the conditions created for foreign students. He emphasized the importance of meetings between State Migration Service (SMS) employees and foreign students. Vidadi Fatullayev, Chairman of the “Development of the Migration Field” Public Union, noted that the number of foreign students studying in the country has increased against the background of Azerbaijan’s growing international reputation and economic development. Speaking about the joint activities of higher education institutions and state agencies in this area, he expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the SMS and AzTU for supporting the organization of the event. Khayala Abbasova, Deputy Head of the Legal Support Department of the SMS, provided detailed information about migration legislation, rules for entering and leaving the country, temporary residence and registration procedures. He highlighted the importance of timely and correct implementation of these procedures. During the event, the questions raised by the students were answered by Tural Karimov, Chief Inspector of the Main Department of Migration Control of the State Migration Service, Aykhan Rzayev, Inspector of the Main Department of Analysis and Information Support of Migration Processes, and Ruslan Aghayev, Chief Inspector of the Main Department of Regulation of Migration Processes. The State Migration Service employees provided detailed explanations on the provisions of the migration legislation related to foreign students.

An event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the people's poet Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh was held at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The host of the event, jointly organized by the Department of Humanities of AzTU and the Student Trade Union Committee (STUC), poet Jabrayil Ganbar, noted the importance of the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated February 21, 2025 on the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the outstanding representative of our national poetry Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh. He noted that on the basis of this Decree, a series of anniversary events for the poet are being held in all educational institutions and cultural centers of the country. AzTU Vice-Rector Rashad Aliyev noted that as a prominent representative of Azerbaijani poetry, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's work is a valuable contribution to Azerbaijani literature. Habib Mirzayev, the head of the Department of Humanities, stated that the heritage of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade, rich in patriotic feelings, constitutes one of the bright pages of Azerbaijani poetry, noting that the poet, with his works of deep socio-political and poetic-philosophical content, expressed his boundless love for the Motherland, the nation, and his native language, and demonstrated his high sense of commitment to the consciousness of national independence, the ideology of Azerbaijaniism, and the ideals of the Turkic people. Also, in the difficult days of our republic, he demonstrated a courageous position in solving fateful issues from the point of high citizenship and true intellectualism, and thanks to this dedication, he won the deep sympathy of the people. In the artistic part of the event, People's Artist of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Gulyanag Mammadova gave a good mood to the participants of the event with her beloved musical numbers composed to the poems of Bakhtiyar Vahabzade. Then, AzTU graduate Farhad Rahimli, winner of the "Ben şarkı söylersem" music competition broadcast on the "TRT Music" channel, ADMIU student Jeyran Abbasli, AzTU students Alijan Aliyev, Lamiya Zahidova and Maksim Frolov performed songs written to the poet's words. Then, Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh's poetry samples "Akhı dünya törhanır...", "Gocalmır", "Bir salama deymadi", "Uşaklıq"; poems "Mugham", "Unutmaq isterem...", "Bayrag" were recited by reciter Jabrayil Ganbar, associate professor Habib Mirzayev, students Durna Hasanli, Fatih Emir Torun and Janpolad Guliyev. During the event, a video clip reflecting the life and work of Bakhtiyar Vahabzadeh, including the views of the great leader Heydar Aliyev on the poet, was shown. Also, the poet's poems "Azerbaijan-Turkey" and "Torpaqdan pay olmaz!" were presented to the attention of the participants of the event by displaying their poems on the screen, performed by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. At the end of the event, a letter of appreciation was presented to the People's Artist Gulyanag Mammadova and the presenter - reciter, poet Jabrayil Ganbar on behalf of the AzTU leadership. The event concluded with the sounds of the song "Azerbaijan" composed to the words of the poet.
