A seminar on the topic of “Restoration and preservation of technological heritage in Western Azerbaijan” was held by the Western Azerbaijan Technological Heritage Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The aim was to evaluate and discuss the relevance of the technological heritage formed in Western Azerbaijan for the modern era from a scientific perspective.
First, an exhibition dedicated to the heritage of Western Azerbaijan was viewed in the lobby of AzTU.
Speaking at the seminar, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev said that the issue of preserving the heritage of Western Azerbaijan is in the focus of attention of President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the mission of AzTU is to explore the technological capabilities of this heritage and pass on the scientific research conducted in this direction to future generations. The Rector also emphasized the creation of opportunities for creatively-minded young people in preserving this heritage.
Then, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the West Azerbaijan Community, MP Aziz Alakbarov made a speech and looked through the history. The MP noted the importance of studying the realities of Western Azerbaijan, communicating them to the world community, fully exposing Armenian lies and frauds, bringing the rights of Azerbaijanis deported from the lands of Western Azerbaijan over the past 200 years to the international level, restoring them, using all possible opportunities to punish the Armenian state and Armenian nationalists in international courts for all these crimes, and at the same time conducting this struggle in parallel in the fields of culture, science, education, and technology. He considered such a series of events important and expressed his gratitude to Rector Vilayat Valiyev for the created conditions and support.
Then, a panel discussion of the seminar was held under the moderation of the chairman of the Public Union "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" Irada Rizazade. Western Azerbaijan researcher Jalal Allahverdiyev, honored cultural worker, national culinary researcher Tahir Amiraslanov, members of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan Isgander Sardarli, Togrul Sardarli, and artist Ali Ismayil Aliyev made a wide-ranging presentation on the technological heritage of Western Azerbaijan. During the speeches, proposals were made on preserving the technological heritage of Western Azerbaijan and conducting various studies in this direction.
It should be noted that in accordance with the instructions given by President Ilham Aliyev to prepare the Concept of Return to Western Azerbaijan, the Western Azerbaijan Technological Heritage Center was established at AzTU last year.
