A labour fair was held with the  joint organization of State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Yasamal District Executive Authority. Chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency Mustafa Abbasbeyli, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev and Head of Yasamal District Executive Authority Elshad Hasanov took part in the fair. Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the work done at the university in the direction of training staff according to the requirements of the labor market. He mentioned that such events are of great importance for graduates and students to enter the labor market and start their careers. The Rector noted AzTU always pays attention to expanding the career opportunities of its graduates and cooperates with various state and private institutions for this purpose as well. Elshad Hasanov, the head of the Yasamal District Executive Power noted in his speech that ensuring the employment of the population is one of the priorities of the state policy and he also said that the organization of such meetings between employers and job seekers serves the development of the labour market. Mustafa Abbasbeyli - the chairman of the Board of the State Employment Agency spoke about the innovations and reforms carried out in the field of employment in our country in recent years. He mentioned that the demands relating to the labor market in the world and in our country are constantly changing and new challenges are formed. Hence this requires job seekers to work constantly on themselves  and acquire new work skills.  Speaking about  the importance of educational institutions in adapting to the requirements of the labor market, Mustafa Abbasbeyli also emphasized that AzTU is one of the educational institutions that stand out from this point of view. It should be noted that more than 800 vacancies and internship programs were presented by 95 state and private enterprises at the fair. The participants of the exhibition were also informed about the activities of the State Employment Agency and projects aimed at young people.

President Ilham Aliyev's initiatives to designate 2024 as a year of solidarity for the "Green World" and to host COP29 in Azerbaijan will foster an environment conducive to enhancing the involvement of young people in environmental initiatives. Professor Vilayat Valiyev, the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, made this statement during his address at the conference held on April 15, focusing on "COP Requirements: Climate Change and Resilience to Natural Disasters." V. Valiyev remarked that the conference convened at Azerbaijan Technical University holds significant importance. It is imperative to underscore our country's initiatives in this domain and the consequential measures. "COP29 stands as a pivotal conference globally, addressing paramount topics such as nature conservation, environmental sustainability, green infrastructure, biodiversity, and renewable energy. Hosting this international event in our nation presents extensive opportunities for youth while underscoring the significance of international collaborative efforts and cooperation among young individuals."

  Namig Abdullayev, a distinguished professor and holder of a doctorate in technical sciences at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), passed away at the age of 77.  Since 2013, Namig Abdullayev served in various capacities at AzTU, leaving an indelible mark through his extensive contributions. He authored over 40 textbooks and methodological materials, 12 monographs, and more than 200 scientific and scientific-pedagogical works.  In recognition of his outstanding achievements, Namig Abdullayev was honored with the "Progress" medal in 2010 by a decree from President Ilham Aliyev.  The leadership and faculty of AzTU mourn the loss of Namig Abdullayev and extend their deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.  May he rest in peace.  

Organized by Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan (ATGTI), and student youth organizations affiliated with higher education institutions, a student scientific conference on "COP Requirements: Climate Change and Resistance to Natural Disasters" took place in Baku on April 15th. The official inauguration of the scientific conference commenced with the rendition of the national anthem, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the integrity and sovereignty of our nation. In his opening address, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, the rector of AzTU, conveyed to the attendees that the conference, dedicated to the most pertinent topics of our time, was not a happenstance occurrence. He underscored the vital role such conferences play in educating young individuals. Additionally, he highlighted the significance of the Patriotic War victory, crediting the bravery of our esteemed Army and the leadership of President and Commander-in-Chief Muzaffar Ilham Aliyev. Professor Valiyev emphasized that we are living in a historic era, shaped by this victory, and underscored the importance of hosting COP29 in Azerbaijan. Major General Maharram Hasanov, the head of the Baku Regional Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, addressed the audience, highlighting the exceptional efforts undertaken by the ministry. He emphasized the paramount importance of the state policy aimed at safeguarding the safety of young individuals as a top priority direction. Parviz Miralamli, Chairman of the Union of Student Youth Organizations of Azerbaijan, discussed the beneficial impacts of organizing significant projects on the development of students' practical skills and the potential prospects stemming from such endeavors. He highlighted the Union's active involvement in crucial events like COP29, underscoring its commitment to contributing to meaningful initiatives. Following the initial addresses, the event proceeded with speeches delivered by students representing 10 higher education institutions in Baku, focusing on the theme "COP Requirements." Finally, the participants were honored with certificates in recognition of their contributions.

Subhan Namazov, vice-rector for science and innovation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), visiting Moldova within the framework of the "Erasmus+KA2" project "Increasing the capacity of universities to start and participate in the development of clusters with the principles of innovation and sustainability" (UniClaD) financed by the European Union, Fariz, vice-rector for international relations Mammadov and Matanat Pashayeva, the head of the international projects group of the International Relations Department, met with Professor Viorel Bostan, Rector of the Technical University of Moldova (UTM). Pointing out that UTM is the main higher education institution in the field of engineering in Moldova, Professor Viorel Bostan drew attention to the importance of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Moldova in the field of science and higher education in recent years. He noted the importance of expanding this cooperation. The Rector informed about the innovations and projects implemented at UTM in recent years. Subhan Namazov, vice-rector for science and innovations of AzTU, informed about the work done at the university in recent years. At the meeting, current and prospective cooperation opportunities between AzTU and UTM were discussed, as well as issues of joint participation in international projects in the field of teaching and research. Preliminary agreements on the implementation of joint activities have been reached. The delegation of AzTU also got acquainted with the organization of teaching, research and innovation activities of the "Tekwill" IT Park and the Faculty of Computer, Informatics and Microelectronics operating under UTM and exchanged ideas.

Nargizkhanim Bakhishova, the head teacher of the Department of Economics and Statistics at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), participated in an exchange program at Bucharest University of Economics in Romania under the auspices of the "Erasmus+ KA171" program. During the exchange, Nargizkhanim Bakhishova familiarized herself with the activities of the Department of Statistics and Econometrics at Bucharest University of Economics and engaged with its academic staff. She also acquainted herself with ongoing research endeavors in laboratories and libraries, actively participated in teaching "Statistics" and "Econometrics" courses, and delivered a lecture to students studying these subjects.

Within the framework of the "ERASMUS+KA2" program funded by the European Union, in which Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is a partner, the next international conference and the next meeting of the management team was held in Moldova on the project "Increasing the potential of universities in starting and participating in the development of clusters with the principles of innovation and sustainability" (UniClaD). The event was organized with the participation of representatives of partner organizations from Italy, Spain, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. The international conference was hosted by Comrat State University on April 8-10 in Comrat, Moldova, and on April 11-12 in Chisinau by Moldova Technical University. AzTU vice-rector for science and innovations Subhan Namazov, vice-rector for international relations Fariz Mammadov, head of the international projects group of the international relations department Matanat Pashayeva, head of the Research and Development department Bakhtiyar Badalov, head of the doctoral and master's department Shahin Mashayev took part in the conference. At the meeting, European partners gave presentations on the application of IT technologies in agriculture, the Cluster Innovation Farm in Austria, the experience of creating training modules, the agricultural knowledge and innovation system, clusters in the food sector, and the application of models was discussed. Within the framework of the visit, advanced farms producing organic dairy products were inspected and innovative applications were studied. During the visit, which continued with the meeting of the management team, the outstanding issues related to the main components of the project were discussed, and the time of the next meeting was agreed. In the end, the organizational issues for holding the final conference on the project in Azerbaijan were also discussed.

On April 5, in accordance with the Joint Action Plan of the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (NAP), "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" Closed Joint Stock Company, and the State Commission for the Fight against Drug Addiction and Illegal Trafficking of Narcotics, in accordance with the Joint Action Plan of the Permanent Working Group at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU)  "Say no to bad habits, choose a healthy lifestyle!" interactive training was held.

Innovative Technologies Center of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has started a series of trainings on "Project management" for academic staff. Training is expected to last for three months. In accordance with the action plan of the Innovative Technologies Center, it is planned to hold trainings and seminars in other areas. It should be noted that the center was established under the project Increasing the capacity of universities in starting and participating in the development of clusters with the principles of innovation and sustainability (UniClaD) implemented at AzTU within the framework of the "Erasmus+KA2"program.

A delegation led by AzTU rector Vilayat Valiyev visited the Azerfloat glass plant.  The advisor of the institution, Bahman Aliyev, informed the guests that the plant is the first enterprise for the production of thermoformed glass in Azerbaijan. As one of the main companies serving the development of the non-oil industry of Azerbaijan, the institution makes significant contributions to the country economy. During the acquaintance of the AzTU delegation with the activities of the institution, it was said that students will actively participate in the existing internship programs at the plant. At the same time, an agreement was reached on the creation of research opportunities and joint use of the laboratory base.
