The “THE Eurasian Universities Summit” is being held in Baku with the support of the Ministry of Science and Education, jointly organized by the State Agency for Science and Higher Education and the international rating agency “Times Higher Education” (THE). This year, the summit, dedicated to the theme “Transnational Research: From Knowledge to Global Impact”, is attended by prestigious higher education institutions from different regions of the world, as well as Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) with its own stand. The delegation, led by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, is holding meetings to expand international cooperation, transnational research opportunities and inter-university partnerships. It should be noted that the delegation includes Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Fariz Mammadov, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Bakhtiyar Badalov, Head of the Research and Development Department, and Parvana Movsumova, Head of the Quality Assurance Department.

The delegation led by the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev paid a working visit to the world-renowned International Accreditation Agency (ASIIN), which accredits educational programs at bachelor's, master's and doctoral levels of higher education in the fields of engineering, information and computer sciences, exact sciences and natural sciences in Germany. The delegation was also attended by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov and Head of the Research and Development Department Bakhtiyar Badalov. Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the existing successful cooperation of AzTU with ASIIN and provided extensive information on bilateral relations with German universities and the work done to improve the quality of educational programs. During the discussions, it was stated that AzTU is interested in program accreditation of a number of specialties, and an agreement was reached on the possibility of accreditation of certification programs in the future. After the discussions, an agreement was reached to initially conduct accreditation of up to 20 programs of AzTU and a memorandum of understanding was signed.

In order to develop scientific research at the international level and improve the scientific indicators of the university, a training was organized at the initiative of the Research and Development Department at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The training was conducted by Saida Sak, the official representative of Elsevier, one of the world's leading scientific publishing companies, in Azerbaijan. The training was attended by faculty, graduate and doctoral students. Saida Sak provided detailed information on the capabilities of the Scopus scientific database, search and analysis of scientific articles, tracking citation indicators, calculating h-index and other scientific metrics. The participants were also explained effective search methods on the Scopus platform, selection of research topics, expansion of international scientific cooperation opportunities, and the processes of sending articles to high-impact factor journals. Saida Sak also answered questions related to indexing criteria, article acceptance procedures, scientific ethics, and copyright.       During the training, discussions were held on increasing the efficiency of AzTU's scientific activities, strengthening its visibility in the international scientific space, and more efficient management of the institutional profile database. Finally, the importance of developing scientific activities at AzTU in accordance with international standards, increasing the number of articles published in international scientific journals, and strengthening the university's position in the global scientific space was emphasized.

Ilhom Abdurahmanov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of Namangan State Technical University, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss future cooperation opportunities between the universities and further strengthen existing relations. Subhan Namazov, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations of AzTU, informed the guest about the work being done at the university. During the meeting, areas of bilateral cooperation were discussed. In particular, cooperation in the field of scientific research, student and teacher exchange, improving the position of universities in international rankings, implementation of dual diploma programs and other topics were exchanged.

A delegation led by the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev paid a working visit to Aachen University of Technology (RWTH Aachen), one of the leading universities in Germany and the world. The delegation was also attended by Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation Subhan Namazov and Head of the Research and Development Department Bakhtiyar Badalov. Rector Vilayat Valiyev provided information about AzTU's successful cooperation with German universities and the university's areas of activity. During the meeting with Professor Thomas Gries, Head of the Institute of Textile Technologies (ITA) of RWTH Aachen, the establishment of bilateral cooperation relations at the initiative of "Synergia Academy" was highly appreciated, joint cooperation in the field of scientific research and education, implementation of the German Research Internship Program, establishment of the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory, implementation of a joint industry-based mini MBA program, joint research projects and conferences were discussed. Agreement was also reached on the organization of a joint certification program, preparation for signing a memorandum of understanding reflecting activities towards mutual support in international rankings. Both sides stressed their interest in cooperation in the above-mentioned areas. During the visit, the delegation got acquainted with the rich multidisciplinary research laboratories of ITA established against the backdrop of university-industry cooperation, megatrends in the development of ITA in recent years, discussions were held and real topics of cooperation were identified.

The next “Bootcamp” dedicated to the “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Precision Agriculture” project was held in Shamakhi, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Shamakhi District Executive Power. The Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the “Bootcamp” organized within the framework of the Grape and Wine Festival by Ali Mustafasoylu, a student of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology, Seljan Karimli, a student of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, and Omar Alasgarov, a trainer-constructor of the research and design laboratory of the “SmartTech” Innovators Center. The main goal of the “Bootcamp” is to promote the application of digital technologies in agriculture, create conditions for young people to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical skills, and also support the development of a startup ecosystem in the agricultural sector. Within the framework of the program, presentations were made by specialists from companies specializing in the agricultural sector, as well as from more than 10 acceleration and incubation centers. During the presentations, experts shared their experiences and recommendations on further improving the projects presented by the participants, their possibilities for application in production, commercialization and marketing. The participants of the “Bootcamp” made presentations on a single platform for the sale of plants produced using biotechnological methods, automation of irrigation networks, sensor technologies, software for intelligent management of agricultural activities, filtering fish waste collected in water bodies and aquariums to obtain natural, pure and economically profitable fertilizer, a local GPS tracking system based on the Concox Qbit-4G module in animal husbandry, obtaining propanediol molecules in an ecologically clean environment through biological fermentation, an application that helps identify plant diseases based on photos, and other innovative ideas and models. In order to enrich the knowledge and experience of the “Bootcamp” participants in the agricultural sector, an infotour was organized to specialized agricultural production facilities in  Shamakhi region. Participants had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the real work process at the farm of "Az-Granata" LLC, the experimental farm of the Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Enology, and the production area of ​​"Shirvan Wines" LLC.

Active students of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) also participated in the “Students’ Summer Camp” held at the “Tehsil” recreation center on September 8–13. We present an interview with AzTU STUC Chairman Mirmohammed Alakbarli about the camp. What were the highlights of the “Students’ Summer Camp” for you? For me, this camp is not just a place to spend a productive summer vacation, but also a platform that creates opportunities for our students to develop their social skills, strengthen their communication with each other, and improve their teamwork skills. Students from different universities build new friendships and collaborations here, and the horizons of young people expand. I think that AzTU students also had an interesting and useful time at the camp. What was the role of STUC and ETIHI in this event? I believe that the Azerbaijan Confederation of Trade Unions (ACTU) and the Trade Union of Science and Education Workers (TUSW) attach great importance to the personal development of young people and students. With the support of the mentioned organizations, such camps ensure the social protection of young people, effective organization of leisure time, and professional development. This event once again showed that trade unions are doing real work for the well-being and development of young people. What can you say about the participation of representatives of other universities in the camp? A particularly pleasing moment for me is that students from friendly universities and chairmen of TCTUs also actively participated in the camp. Their positive activities and initiatives made a great contribution to strengthening cooperation and friendly relations between young people. Such joint events serve the development of inter-university relations and open up new prospects for our students. What would you like to say in conclusion? I am sure that projects such as the “Students' Summer Camp” have a significant impact on both the social and professional development of students. These opportunities created by AHIK and ETIHI strengthen the students' sense of commitment to the trade union movement. With the support of colleagues and the active participation of friendly universities, such events will create the basis for young people to implement successful projects together in the future.

KBU Rector Mehmet Toycan provided extensive information about the higher education institution he represents. He said that higher education institutions in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are interested in establishing cooperation in the field of education and research with Azerbaijani higher education institutions. During the meeting, AzTU and KBU representatives discussed the mutual exchange of students and academic staff, joint scientific research, and opportunities for dual diploma programs. Finally, an agreement on cooperation between the universities was signed.

A meeting was held with the first-year students admitted to the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology in the 2025/2026 academic year. The Dean of the Faculty, Associate Professor Yadullah Babayev, congratulated the students on their success. He emphasized that the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology is the only faculty in the region that trains qualified personnel in the field of defense industry. In his speech, Yadullah Babayev noted that the importance of the defense industry is increasing day by day against the backdrop of new challenges in the globalized world and advised students to be active in their classes, always eager to learn and responsible. Then, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Academic Affairs, Goshgar Rasulov, made a speech, congratulated the first-year students admitted and wished them success in their first academic years. At the end of the meeting, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty for Social Issues, Public Relations and Infrastructure, Amin Mamedov, made a presentation and provided students with detailed information about the mechanism for organizing classes at the university, the credit system and other important points.

He said that Israeli higher education institutions are interested in expanding cooperation with Azerbaijani higher education institutions in the field of education and research. During the meeting, AzTU and HIT representatives discussed the mutual exchange of students and academic staff, joint scientific research, and opportunities for dual diploma programs.
