Representatives of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center Held an Info-Session at AzTU

Representatives of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Center (AKM) held an info-session at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). During the session, it was announced that registration for the new fifth wave of AKM training, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport (RINN), the Innovation and Digital Development Agency (IRIA), and Israel’s “Technion” Institute of Technology, was now open. Leyla Karimli, the community manager of AKM, provided detailed information on global and national cyber threats and their potential damages. She emphasized that the goal of AKM training programs is to develop the highest level of knowledge and skills for cybersecurity professionals in the country. Karimli invited AzTU students to join the fifth wave of the training programs. Nemat Rahimli, an employee of AKM, explained that the training programs are based on the curriculum of the “Technion” Institute of Technology in Israel. He stated that foreign trainers assess the IT knowledge and interview skills of participants. Those who succeed in both stages are offered six-month training in “Blue team” (defense) and “Red team” (attack) areas. Successful graduates receive an official certificate from the “Technion” Institute. It was also noted that AKM has already graduated nearly 180 students, many of whom now work in both government agencies and the private sector. Registration for the training programs closes on November 8. The session concluded with answers to questions from the students.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) təşkilatçılığı, “Clarivate” şirkətinin təmsilçisi Anna Trifonovanın təşəbbüsü, Katarina Krsmanovicin təlimçiliyi ilə “ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global” bazasının kitabxana əməkdaşları üçün onlayn treninqi həyata keçirilib. Təlimdə müxtəlif ali təhsil müəssisəsindən 50-yə yaxın kitabxana nümayəndəsi iştirak edərək bazadakı tezis və dissertasiyalara çıxış imkanları ilə tanış olublar. Treninqdə “ProQuest” bazasının informasiya istifadəçilərinə təqdim etdiyi geniş resurslar və dünya elminə inteqrasiya imkanları barədə ətraflı məlumat verilib.   Təlimdə iştirakçılar oxuculara keyfiyyətli xidməti artırmaq məqsədilə bazadan istifadəlilik, elmi məlumatların əldə edilməsi və tədqiqat prosesində məhsuldarlığı artırmaq üçün faydalı alətlər haqqında dəyərli biliklər qazanıblar. Qeyd edək ki, PQDT bazası dissertasiya və tezisləri özündə cəmləşdirərək istifadəçilərə bilik sərhədlərini genişləndirmək üçün mükəmməl imkanlar təqdim edir.  Treninqdən sonra 60 ölkədən 4100 universitetin 5 milyondan çox dissertasiya və tezisinin tam mətnini əhatə edən baza ölkəmizdə 20-dən çox ali təhsil müəssisəsinin kitabxanaları üçün 1 aylıq sınaq müddətinə istifadəsinə açılıb.

An employee of Rzeszów University of Technology was trained at AzTU

Monika Stanisz, an employee of the International Relations Department of Jędrzejów University of Technology in Poland, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of the “Erasmus+” exchange program. During her visit, Monika Stanisz conducted a week-long training at AzTU’s International Relations Department, where she familiarized herself with the department’s activities, international collaborations, and ongoing projects. Additionally, discussions were held regarding the expansion of the existing cooperation between the two universities. Monika Stanisz and AzTU’s International Relations Department staff exchanged ideas on the implementation of joint projects, the organization of new exchange programs, and academic exchange opportunities.

A meeting was held with the new participants of the "Maarifchi" student-graduate internship program at AzTU

A meeting was organized with the participants of the 2nd “Maarichi” Student-Alumni Internship Program, implemented at the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Education and the Education Development Fund.   The meeting was attended by the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Vilayat Valiyev; Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund, Elnur Nasibov; Head of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Science and Education, Chapai Mammadov; and representatives from the ministry and the fund. Rector Vilayat Valiyev greeted the students and alumni, emphasizing the value of such programs in fostering communication with young people and informing them about the functioning of state institutions. The Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund, Elnur Nasibov, provided detailed information about the program. He emphasized the importance of the “Maarifchi” Student-Alumni Internship Program in preparing young professionals and wished the success to the participants. The Head of the Human Resources Department of the Ministry of Science and Education, Chapai Mammadov, congratulated the candidatesaccepted to the program, encouraged them to be proactive, and wished them success. The meeting continued with a comprehensive presentation by Rasul Hashimov, Head of the Project Management Department of the Education Development Fund, who outlined the fund's activities. Later, Sabina Huseynova, a participant of the I "Maarifchi" student-graduate internship program, shared her impressions and wished success to the new participants. The meeting concluded with an interactive discussion, where the participants exchanged ideas and had their questions about the program answered. It is worth noting that 37 interns were selected for the second phase of the “Maarifçi” Student-Alumni Internship Program. Within the framework of the program, which will last for 3 months, the selected participants will undergo internship in various structural departments of the Ministry of Science and Education, as well as the Ministry of Education of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Participants will benefit from training organized for them and develop their social skills. The program aims to provide students and graduates with internship opportunities, enhance their knowledge and skills, enable them to apply theoretical knowledge in a real work environment, and equip them with professional competencies.

Training was held within the DIRNA project at AzTU

The training was held within the framework of the "Development of research potential through the network of institutional repositories in Azerbaijan" (DIRNA) project of the "Erasmus+KA2" program, in which Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) is a partner. The training on "Presentation of the Digital Repository at AzTU and open access possibilities" was organized based on the presentations of Khayala Hajiyeva, director of the AzTU Library Information Center (LIC), and Iltifat Ibrahimov, an expert on library systems and digitization of the LIC. The participants were informed in detail about open science, open access concepts, international licenses, copyrights, open publishing opportunities, AzTU's open access policy, author agreements. The participants were introduced to the digital repository of AzTU, and a presentation was given on the rules of resource admission to the repository. In the training, the participants were also presented with information about the subscription databases and open access databases provided by AzTU LIC, a literature search was performed on the databases, and the audience was informed in detail about information provision. At the end of the session, questions from the participants were addressed comprehensively.

The next DAAD seminar was held at AzTU

The next seminar was held for students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) on applying for scholarship programs of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).  The seminar, titled “How to Write a Successful Motivation Letter,” provided students with guidelines on preparing the motivation letter required for applications to DAAD’s master’s level scholarship programs. The seminar was conducted by Claudio Kasperl, a DAAD German language teacher working at AzTU. In the seminar, students were provided detailed information about DAAD's activities and scholarship programs, application conditions, required set of documents, and the rules for the correct preparation of a motivation letter. At the end of the event, the participants' questions were answered. In addition, Claudio Kasperl organized an information session on "Language courses with scholarships in Germany". Summer schools in Germany and the rules for applying to them were explained in detail at the DAAD information session for undergraduate and graduate students.

AzTU hosts International Science and Technology Conference

The 15th International Science and Technology Conference (ISTEC) has commenced at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The international conference, organized in partnership with Sakarya University, Kocaeli University of Health and Technology, and Chankaya University, brings together scientists from the global academic community. In his opening speech, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of AzTU, expressed his pleasure in hosting the conference. He emphasized that such conferences and collaborations make significant contributions to the development of scientific and technological fields and will pave the way for more international cooperation in the future. The conference agenda covers research and innovative solutions in fields such as engineering, information technologies, energy systems, and artificial intelligence. Additionally, presentations on sustainable energy, smart cities, and digital transformation were held. The conference also provided young researchers and students with an opportunity to present their projects and establish connections with international scholars. The two-day International Science and Technology Conference has received submissions from speakers in 22 countries, with 75 papers being approved. Distinguished invited speakers at the conference included Professor Muzafer Elmas, Rector of Kocaeli University of Health and Technology, who presented on “New Developments in Quality in Higher Education”; Professor Teresa Franklin from Ohio University, who discussed “Changing Paradigms in Higher Education, K12, and Artificial Intelligence”; Professor John Hitchcock, who spoke on “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Research”; and Professor Badrul H. Khan, who addressed “Smart Learning in the Digital World.”

AzTU student: "The project I presented at the Milan Congress was welcomed with interest"

“It is an honor to present my project before the vast audience at the 75th International Astronautical Congress held in Milan, Italy.” These were the words of Safarali Safarli, a member of Azerbaijan’s national scientific team representing the country at the congress, in an interview with AZERTAC. “Yesterday, I presented my project at the congress’s scientific session. The Artificial Intelligence Navigation and Observation System (A.I.N.O.S) project is an artificial intelligence based on physical formulas. This AI system is capable of determining, tracking, and displaying on-screen information about celestial bodies, stars, and satellites from the Earth’s surface. I am pleased that my presentation was well received by the audience. I feel fortunate to participate in such a major space science platform,” said Safarali Safarli, a SABAH group undergraduate student. It is worth noting that Azerbaijan’s national scientific team at the Milan Congress consists of nearly 50 students, young specialists, and scientists.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between AzTU and Kocaeli Health and Technology University

During the International Science and Technology Conference held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), a meeting took place between AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev and the Rector of Kocaeli University of Health and Technology in Turkey, Muzaffar Elmas.  In the meeting, the two higher education institutions discussed and agreed on collaborative efforts in the fields of education and research. As a result, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between AzTU and Kocaeli University, formalizing their partnership.

AzTU launches traditional tournament dedicated to Victory Day

A traditional tournament dedicated to Victory Day has been launched at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The "Victory Tournament" jointly organized by the AzTU Sports Club and the Trade Union Committee is held every year in order to effectively organize the leisure time of university employees and protect their health.As part of the tournament, AzTU employees will try themselves as teams in 5 sports (chess, checkers, table tennis, volleyball and football). On the opening day of the tournament, a total of 10 teams representing different faculties and structural units of AzTU competed in the sport of chess. According to the results of the competition, the team of the Faculty of Information and Telecommunication Technologies won the 1st place with 24 points, the team of the Finance and Security Department won the 2nd place with 19.5 points, and the team of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology won the 3rd place with 17 points.  The winner of the individual chess competitions was Nurlan Huseynov, an academic advisor of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology. It should be noted that various competitions in the "Victory Tournament" will last for 2 weeks. The winners will be awarded with a trophy, medal and valuable gifts from the Trade Union Committee.
