As part of its visit to Azerbaijan, a delegation led by Erol Ozvar, the chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Türkiye, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The guests met with the Minister of Science and Education, Emin Amrullayev, and the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev.  Initially, detailed information was provided to the guests about the work being carried out at AzTU. Discussions were held regarding the current state of cooperation between AzTU and Turkish universities, jointly implemented projects, and future activities.  Later, the guests visited the AzTU campus.

Qonaqlar AzTU-nun rektoru Vilayət Vəliyev və universitetin nümayəndələri ilə görüşüblər. Görüşdə AzTU-da fəaliyyət göstərən “Bilişim Vadisi Bakı”ya üzv olan rezident şirkətlər, burada görülən işlər, startap yarışmaları və digər məsələlərlə bağlı fikir mübadiləsi aparılıb. Həmçinin gələcək əməkdaşlıq istiqamətləri müzakirə olunub.

Səfər çərçivəsində İstanbul Universiteti-Cerrahpaşa, İstanbul Texniki Universiteti (İTU), Boğaziçi Universiteti, Atatürk Universiteti, Ərzurum Texniki Universiteti və Türkiyə Milli Müdafiə Nazirliyinin tabeliyində fəaliyyət göstərən “Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş” şirkətində görüşlər keçirilib və müxtəlif sənədlər imzalanıb. İstanbul Universiteti-Cerrahpaşanın rektoru professor Nuri Aydınla keçirilən görüş çərçivəsində tədris və tədqiqat sahəsində əməkdaşlığa dair müqavilə imzalanıb. Müqaviləyə əsasən, hər iki universitet müəllim-tələbə mübadiləsi həyata keçirəcək, səhiyyə menecmenti və biotibbi mühəndislik sahələrində magistratura səviyyəsində ikili diplom proqramlarının təşkili imkanlarını araşdıracaqlar. İTU rektoru professor İsmayıl Koyuncu və nümayəndə heyəti ilə keçirilən görüş çərçivəsində universitetlər arasında əməkdaşlığa dair daha bir müqavilə imzalanıb. Müqaviləyə əsasən, universitetlərin tədqiqat institutlarının bu ali məktəblərin prioritet tədqiqat mövzuları üzrə birgə araşdırmalar aparmaq, magistrant və doktorantlara qarşılıqlı elmi rəhbərlik imkanları yaradılacaq, həmçinin müəllim-tələbə mübadiləsi həyata keçiriləcək. Boğaziçi Universitetinin rektoru professor Mehmet Naci İnci ilə keçirilən görüş zamanı 4-cü Avrasiya Enerji və Dayanıqlılıq Konfransın 2024-cü ilin iyununda Boğaziçi Universitetində keçirilməsi qərara alınıb. Bundan başqa, universitetlərin magistrant və doktorantlarına qarşılıqlı elmi rəhbərlik imkanları da müzakirə olunub. Atatürk Universitetinin rektoru professor Ömer Çomaklı ilə keçirilən görüş çərçivəsində universitetlər arasında əməkdaşlığa dair müqavilə imzalanıb. Müqaviləyə əsasən, universitetlərin tədqiqat institutlarının bu ali məktəblərin prioritet tədqiqat mövzuları üzrə birgə araşdırmalar aparmaq, habelə bu araşdırmaların birgə maliyyələşdirilməsi imkanları öyrəniləcək. Daha bir əməkdaşlıq müqaviləsi Ərzurum Texniki Universitetinin rektoru professor Bülent Çakmakla keçirilən görüş çərçivəsində imzalanıb. Sənədə əsasən, universitetlərin tədqiqat institutlarının bu universitetlərin prioritet tədqiqat mövzuları üzrə birgə araşdırmalar aparmaq, habelə bu araşdırmaların birgə maliyyələşdirilməsi imkanları öyrəniləcək. “Makina ve Kimya Endüstrisi A.Ş” şirkətində keçirilən görüşdə AzTU-nun müdafiə sənayesinə aid ixtisaslarına Azərbaycan Respublikasının Müdafiə Sənayesi Nazirliyi, AzTU və şirkət mütəxəssisləri tərəfindən birgə baxılması, təkmilləşdirilməsi istiqamətində müzakirə aparılıb. Qeyd edək ki, AzTU rektorunun rəhbərlik etdiyi nümayəndə heyətində beynəlxalq əlaqələr üzrə prorektor Fariz Məmmədov, Beynəlxalq əlaqələr şöbəsinin müdiri Orxan Vətənxah, Ömürboyu Öyrənmə Məktəbinin direktoru Aynurə İsmayılova iştirak edib.  

On March 4, a report-election meeting of the Azerbaijan Technical University's (AzTU) Trade Union Committee (TUC) was held. The event was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Deputy Chairman of the Azerbaijan Free Trade Union of Education Workers (ATİAHİ RK) Mirza Jafarzadeh, vice rectors, deans, department heads, and 55 participants.  The meeting began with a moment of silence in honor of those who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands, followed by the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Rector Vilayat Valiyev welcomed the participants and wished success for the meeting. He noted that the TUC plays an important role not only in the social life of the university but also in its academic and scientific directions. He highlighted the success of the reforms at the university, emphasizing the efforts of the academic and administrative staff in achieving these accomplishments.  The meeting then continued according to the agenda.  First, the chair, Elvin Baxtiyarli, presented the report on the activities of the TUC. After the report from the TUC's audit committee was heard, the issue of electing a new composition was addressed. In the open voting session, a new composition of the TUC was elected. As part of the agenda, proposals were made for the election of the new chairman of the TUC. Based on the proposals, Elvin Baxtiyarli, the current chairman, was nominated for re-election. The proposal was put to a vote and, with unanimous support from the participants, Elvin Baxtiyarli was re-elected as chairman of the AzTU TUC for the next term. Additionally, Elvin Baxtiyarli was selected as a delegate to the ATİAHİ RK congress.  The meeting also approved the new composition of the TUC's audit committee.

As part of its visit to Türkiye, a delegation led by the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev met with the Rector of Hacettepe University, Professor Mehmet Cahit Guran, and representatives of the university on March 1.  Within the framework of the meeting, AzTU and Hacettepe University have signed an agreement on joint collaboration in training and research, especially in lifelong learning.  Under the agreement, AzTU will benefit from Hacettepe University's experience in the field of lifelong learning, and the universities will establish an education platform for the specialties required in the labor market of both countries.  It is important to note that the delegation led by the Rector of AzTU includes Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov and the Director of the Lifelong Learning School, Aynura Ismayilova.

On March 1, 2024, a ceremony dedicated to World Civil Defense Day was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Civil Defense Organization Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).  The event, themed "Innovative Technologies in Civil Defense," brought together officials responsible for civil defense from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, relevant ministries, state authorities, members of emergency commissions from regional executive bodies, representatives from international organizations, and members of the Public Council of the MES. The ceremony began with the participants laying wreaths at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev and paying their respects to his cherished memory.  A video presentation was shown at the start of the event, providing an overview of the Ministry of Emergency Situations' activities in the field of civil defense.  The meeting was opened with a speech by Major General Niyazi Zamanov, Head of the Civil Defense Organization Department at MES. He discussed the role of the International Civil Defense Organization (ICDO) in the effective organization of civil defense and spoke about the ministry's participation in the sessions of the ICDO General Assembly held in various years. General Zamanov emphasized that the primary goal of observing World Civil Defense Day is to raise public awareness about the importance of organizing civil defense measures to protect populations and territories from emergencies. He noted that in Azerbaijan, various events, including exhibitions, conferences, open lessons, and training sessions, are organized to promote civil defense, making these activities highly significant.  In his speech, General Zamanov provided detailed information on the ministry’s responsibilities and activities in organizing and implementing civil defense measures in the country. He highlighted the importance of developing civil defense and the application of innovative technologies in this field.  During the event, speakers included Davud Rustamov, Head of the Cybersecurity Operations Center of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, Ismet Baxishov, Director of the Geographic Information Systems Center of the Azerbaijan Space Agency, Murad Qasimov, an employee of the MES Digital Technologies and Innovations Development Department, and Subhan Namazov, Vice Rector for Research and Innovation at AzTU, among others. They made presentations on the topic.  At the conclusion of the event, in honor of World Civil Defense Day and for their effective work in organizing civil defense in their respective organizations, distinguished employees were awarded with "Honorary Certificates" by the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The 9th Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURIE-2024) is being held in Istanbul, Turkey, organized by the Eurasian Universities Association (EURAS). The aim of the summit is to promote Turkey's higher education sector to the world.  The summit is attended by representatives from 67 countries, including educational institutions and companies from the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa. More than 2,000 rectors, academic staff, and entrepreneurs are participating.  The event is being held at the Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar Congress Center, with Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) represented by a delegation led by Rector Vilayat Valiyev. The delegation also includes Vice Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov, Director of the International Relations Department Orkhan Vetenkhah, and Director of the University-Industry Cooperation and Lifelong Learning School Aynura Ismayilova.  During the summit, AzTU is showcasing its stand at the exhibition, where discussions are taking place on collaboration with various universities and institutions.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) Təcrübə qrupunun rəhbəri Tuti Abdullayeva və HÜB 1887 İnkubasiya və Akselerasiya Mərkəzinin “3D texnologiya və elektronika” laboratoriyasının laborantı Mirsahib Ağazadə Türkiyədə Türk Əməkdaşlıq və Koordinasiya Agentliyinin (TİKA) “Robotik Kodlama” və “Dron İstehsalı” təlimlərində iştirak ediblər. CezeriFest çərçivəsində təşkil olunan təlimlər Ankara və İstanbul şəhrlərində keçirilib. Səfər çərçivəsində “DENEYAP” və “SAPMAZ” şirkətlərində keçirilən təlimlərdə fəal iştirak edən AzTU əməkdaşları mikrokontrollerlərin kodlanması və dronların tam yığılmasını öyrənərək sertifikatlar əldə ediblər.  

Cooperation between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and secondary schools is being developed. Within the framework of cooperation, the teachers and students of full secondary school No. 5 of Mehdiabad settlement visited AzTU. First, AzTU's promotional video was shown. Eyvaz Mahammadli, an employee of the Social Development Center, provided presentation about the work done at the university and the innovations implemented. The history of the university, faculties, specializations, international relations, double degree programs, laboratories, career opportunities, and other important information were brought to the attention of schoolchildren. Later, the guests got acquainted with the modern laboratories and classrooms of AzTU.
