A Republican scientific conference dedicated to June 15 - National Salvation Day - was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". The conference was dedicated to the ideas of statehood of Azerbaijan, legal and political stability and the development of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan.
AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, MPs Anar Isgandarov, Parvin Karimzade, Samir Valiyev, Jeyhun Mammadov, Elchin Mirzabayli, the university's faculty and students participated in the event.
First, flowers were laid in front of the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the AzTU lobby, and his memory was honored with respect. Then, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who gave their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan. The National Anthem of Azerbaijan was played.
Welcoming the guests, AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev spoke about the special importance of celebrating National Salvation Day within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". Looking back at history, the Rector said that in the 90s, Azerbaijan's sovereignty was in doubt. In such a difficult period, the leader who saved the Azerbaijani people and the country from an unbearable situation could have been the great leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted that June 15, when the great leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power, was actually the day when the Sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan was restored, and the Azerbaijani people are celebrating National Salvation Day in Azerbaijan, which has fully restored its sovereignty, today.
Chairman of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Anar Isgandarov said that he is honored to hold meetings with universities on historical days and convey history to the younger generation. Then he spoke about the dark and bright days in the history of Azerbaijan. He said that June 15 - National Salvation Day has special historical significance. The deputy first spoke in detail about the great leader's influence in the former Soviet Union republics, as well as in the world, then about his services in the history of Azerbaijan, and the people's trust in him. The deputy especially noted that today's sovereign and modern Republic of Azerbaijan is the work of the Great Leader.
Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Parvin Karimzadeh, delivered a report on the topic "Historical Successes of Azerbaijan", and said that June 15 was the beginning of Azerbaijan's path to victory. It was noted that today, as a result of the determination and political will of the worthy successor of the Great Leader, Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has a say in the world.
Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Samir Valiyev, delivered a report on the topic "National Salvation, the Salvation of Our People, the Rise of Our State", and said that National Salvation Day was a turning point in the history of the Azerbaijani people, and if the great leader Heydar Aliyev had not returned to the country, the Azerbaijani state could have lost its sovereignty.
Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Jeyhun Mammadov, delivered a report on the topic “The Role of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Development of Education and Culture in Azerbaijan” and emphasized that the revival of Azerbaijani education and culture occurred precisely after Heydar Aliyev returned to power.
Member of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis, MP Elchin Mirzabayli, delivered a report on the topic “The Concept of Sovereignty: Classical Theories and the Azerbaijani Model”, first talking about sovereignty, state structures and their essence. Then, the MP spoke about the strategic approaches of great leader Heydar Aliyev and the formation of the concept of sovereignty and said that the sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan does not consist only of legal status and political immunity, as in classical theories, but also includes the concepts of independent decision-making in the energy, economic, environmental, cultural and information fields.
