At Azerbaijan Technical University, a theoretical and practical training programme entitled “Theoretical and Practical Training in Wind Energy” was organized with the aim of enhancing students’ knowledge in the field of alternative and renewable energy sources. Within the framework of the training, particular attention was given to analyzing the role of wind energy in modern energy systems, its importance for global energy security, and its strategic position in the context of sustainable development.

During the program, the greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the use of conventional fossil fuels, the increase in carbon emissions, and their impact on global climate change were explained based on scientific evidence. It was noted that the combustion of coal and other fossil fuels accelerates global warming and makes it more difficult to achieve international climate targets. In this regard, wind energy is considered an environmentally safe, renewable, and sustainable energy source that enables the generation of electricity without releasing harmful gases into the atmosphere.

In the practical component of the training, students acquired both theoretical and applied knowledge regarding the role of wind power plants in the development of energy infrastructure, their integration into modern electricity systems, and mechanisms for enhancing the resilience of energy grids. Additionally, detailed information was provided on modern energy technologies such as high-capacity wind turbines, smart control systems, and energy storage solutions.

Furthermore, issues related to improving energy efficiency and the rational use of energy resources were discussed. It was emphasized that the implementation of wind energy can contribute to reducing regional energy dependence, creating more accessible energy opportunities, and increasing economic efficiency. Compared to conventional energy sources, wind energy was highlighted as a more environmentally friendly and long-term energy solution.

As a result, the training facilitated the development of both fundamental theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of alternative energy among students. This enables them to contribute to the implementation of sustainable energy solutions, the reduction of carbon emissions, and the achievement of global climate goals in their future professional activities.
