The Agency for Innovation and Digital Development, the Institute of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Information Technologies and Methodological Support in Education of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and “OzünÖyren” LLC jointly organized the super final round of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition at AzTU.
About 100 students (grades 1-9) from different regions of the Republic participated in the competition. In this competition, the students’ algorithmic thinking and computer skills were tested and automatically evaluated. The competition was held through the bebras.az portal. Participants were given 45 minutes to answer the questions. Finally, the winners of the first three places in each age category of the “Bebras” Informatics and Algorithmic Thinking Competition were determined.
It should be noted that 17,564 students representing grades 1–10 of 376 secondary schools from 69 regions of Azerbaijan participated in the qualification stage of the competition, which was held in an online format in December 2024. As a result, 667 students qualified for the semi-final stage. 418 students participated in the semi-final stage held at AzTU on April 12, 2025, and 100 of them advanced to the final stage.
In 2024, approximately 3,900,000 students from more than 80 countries around the world participated in the “Bebras” competition. It should be noted that this competition has been organized in Azerbaijan since 2014.
Our country gained full member status at the international “Bebras” conference held in Seoul, South Korea, on May 11–15, 2025.
The main goal of the competition is to increase students' interest in information technology and computer science through interactive and interesting questions.
