The DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Tbilisi Regional Office organized a regional meeting for DAAD Alumni/Ambassadors from South Caucasus countries in the town of Tsinandali, Georgia.

Professor Subhan Namazov, Vice Rector for Science and Innovations at AzTU, Professor Nizami Yusubov, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Associate Professor Arastun Mammadov, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at AzTU attended in the event.

The aim of the event was to familiarize participants with DAAD's institutional cooperation programs, which focus on strengthening existing links between German and South Caucasus higher education institutions and fostering new partnerships. The meeting also addressed key issues in the fields of education, research, and science that concern universities in the region, as well as challenges in the development of higher education.

The topics were discussed through presentations based on practical examples of ongoing or completed projects between German universities and universities in the South Caucasus.

Additionally, the meeting included discussions on preparations for the DAAD Alumni/Graduates Regional Event for South Caucasus, which is planned to take place in Tbilisi from October 19-21, 2024. Proposals were made to ensure the high-level organization of the event, and it was suggested to involve representatives from German universities that AzTU is planning to collaborate with in the event.
