The next “Bootcamp” dedicated to the “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Precision Agriculture” project was held in Shamakhi, jointly organized by the Agrarian Innovation Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Shamakhi District Executive Power.
The Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented at the “Bootcamp” organized within the framework of the Grape and Wine Festival by Ali Mustafasoylu, a student of the Faculty of Special Techniques and Technology, Seljan Karimli, a student of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, and Omar Alasgarov, a trainer-constructor of the research and design laboratory of the “SmartTech” Innovators Center.
The main goal of the “Bootcamp” is to promote the application of digital technologies in agriculture, create conditions for young people to transform their theoretical knowledge into practical skills, and also support the development of a startup ecosystem in the agricultural sector.
Within the framework of the program, presentations were made by specialists from companies specializing in the agricultural sector, as well as from more than 10 acceleration and incubation centers. During the presentations, experts shared their experiences and recommendations on further improving the projects presented by the participants, their possibilities for application in production, commercialization and marketing. The participants of the “Bootcamp” made presentations on a single platform for the sale of plants produced using biotechnological methods, automation of irrigation networks, sensor technologies, software for intelligent management of agricultural activities, filtering fish waste collected in water bodies and aquariums to obtain natural, pure and economically profitable fertilizer, a local GPS tracking system based on the Concox Qbit-4G module in animal husbandry, obtaining propanediol molecules in an ecologically clean environment through biological fermentation, an application that helps identify plant diseases based on photos, and other innovative ideas and models.
In order to enrich the knowledge and experience of the “Bootcamp” participants in the agricultural sector, an infotour was organized to specialized agricultural production facilities in Shamakhi region. Participants had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the real work process at the farm of "Az-Granata" LLC, the experimental farm of the Scientific Research Institute of Viticulture and Enology, and the production area of "Shirvan Wines" LLC.
