Within the framework of institutional cooperation with Elsevier, a leading global provider of scientific information and analytics, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has obtained official access to the SciVal research analytics platform. A relevant agreement has been signed between the parties, granting AzTU’s academic and administrative staff the right to use SciVal for institutional research analysis and strategic planning.
SciVal is an internationally recognized analytical platform designed to support higher education and research institutions in assessing research performance, analyzing scientific productivity and impact, identifying collaboration networks, and benchmarking against global peers. The integration of SciVal into AzTU’s research management infrastructure is expected to significantly enhance evidence-based decision-making, improve institutional research governance, and strengthen the university’s position within the international academic and scientific landscape.
As part of this collaboration, on 15 December 2025, a training session dedicated to the effective use of the SciVal platform was conducted for the senior management of Azerbaijan Technical University. Ms. Saida Sak, a representative of Elsevier, delivered the training. During the session, the core functionalities of the platform, its analytical indicators, and methodologies for evaluating research performance at the institutional level were presented in detail.
Special attention was given to the practical application of SciVal data in strategic research planning, identification of priority research areas, enhancement of international research collaboration, and improvement of overall academic management efficiency. The training also emphasized the role of SciVal analytics in aligning institutional research strategies with global scientific trends and performance benchmarks.
It should be noted that, in the next stage, additional training sessions and methodological support activities are planned for AzTU’s academic staff to ensure the effective and sustainable use of the SciVal platform. These initiatives are expected to contribute to the university’s deeper integration into the global research ecosystem and to the further development of its scientific potential.
