As part of the "Erasmus+ KA2" program, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) participated in the "Development of Research Potential through Institutional Repositories (Digital Archives) Network in Azerbaijan" (DIRNA) project, and a visit was made to the University of L'Aquila in Italy. Khayala Hajiyeva, Director of the Library and Information Center (KIM), and Ilfat Ibrahimov, Senior Consultant on Library Systems and Digitization Processes, who participated in training sessions organized by the leadership of the University of L'Aquila's Academic Library, represented AzTU during the visit. The training covered the implementation of the "Open Science" and "Open Access" initiatives at Italian universities, with presentations on the activities of the L'Aquila University library in these areas. Sessions were also held on the university library's digital repository, its technical infrastructure and management panel, and the management of metadata according to international standards and protocols. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the selection and establishment of the repository system for the project, the use of international protocols and standards during system implementation, and the formation of metadata. Participants also visited the university's libraries in the humanities and engineering faculties as a part of the program. Certificates were presented to the participants at the end of the visit.

The new cafeteria of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has been opened for the use of teachers and students.  The cafeteria, equipped with modern facilities, has a seating capacity of 300.  It mainly serves dishes and desserts typical of the national cuisine.

The Kazakh-German University in Almaty (DKU) organized a training workshop on Sustainable Lifestyles for Universities as part of the project "Sustainable Lifestyles at the Universities of Central Asia and the Caucasus." Supported by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) in Tbilisi, Georgia, the workshop took place on March 14-15, 2024. During the event, Azerbaijan Technical University was represented by Natavan Namazova, head of the Institute of Sustainable Development.  At the meeting, attendees shared international and regional best practices regarding sustainable lifestyles. Discussions also revolved around potential collaborative actions aimed at fostering the development of sustainable lifestyles in the region. The ultimate goal was to contribute positively to the ongoing advancement of sustainable living practices within the community. This project, initiated in October 2022, aims to advocate for sustainable lifestyles among youth and educational institutions in Central Asia and the Caucasus. The Sustainable Lifestyles Round Table convened to facilitate the sharing of international and regional best practices, foster meaningful discussions, and explore innovative strategies for integrating sustainable lifestyles within universities in the Caucasus. Ultimately, the goal is to contribute to the advancement of sustainable living practices in the region. Key outcomes of the round table include: 1. Enhanced understanding of sustainable lifestyles and the concept of "green nudges" among universities in the Caucasus. 2. Participation in and feedback on the outcomes of green jobs market analysis and assessments of sustainability education needs and gaps in the Caucasus and Central Asia. 3. Motivation among Caucasus universities to join the Sustainable Lifestyles University Network and commit to its Activity Plan until 2025. This training workshop served as a pivotal platform for sharing best practices, fostering meaningful dialogue, and exploring innovative strategies for embedding sustainability within Caucasus universities. It also marked the beginning of further UNEP sustainability research and pilot initiatives in the region.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universiteti (AzTU) ilə “IDTECH Academy” MMC və “AVICOM” MMC arasında əməkdaşlıq haqqında memorandum imzalanıb. Sənədi AzTU-nun rektoru Vilayət Vəliyev, “IDTECH Academy ” MMC-nin direktoru Samir Nuriyev və “AVICOM” MMC-nin direktoru Rəşad Nəsirov imzalayıblar. Memoranduma əsasən, AzTU-nun İnformasiya və telekommunikasiya texnologiyalar fakültəsinin bakalavriat və magistratura səviyyələrində təhsil alan tələbələrinin şirkətdə təcrübə keçməsi, onların məşğulluğuna dəstək göstərilməsi nəzərdə tutulub. Tərəflər həmçinin innovativ layihələrin hazırlanması istiqamətində də əməkdaşlıq edəcəklər.

Nümayəndə heyəti MMC-nin direktoru Qabil Qasımovla görüşüb, həmçinin şirkətin fəaliyyəti ilə tanış olublar. Görüşdə universitet-sənaye əməkdaşlığının önəmi qeyd olunub, qarşılıqlı əməkdaşlıq istiqamətləri barədə fikir mübadiləsi aparılıb. Görüşdən sonra AzTU və “İKTex” MMC arasında təhsil və tədqiqat sahəsində əməkdaşlıq haqqında memorandum imzalanıb. Memoranduma əsasən, IT sahəsində birgə tədqiqatların aparılması, tələbələrin məşgulluğunun təmin edilməsi məqsədilə innovativ layihələrin həyata keçirilməsi nəzərdə tutulur.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetində (AzTU) proqramlaşdırma üzrə olimpiadalara hazırlıq məqsədilə yaradılan İnformatika Olimpiada Mərkəzinin fəaliyyəti ilə bağlı toplantı keçirilib. Toplantıda “Universitet Tələbələrinin Beynəlxalq Proqramlaşdırma” (ICPC) olimpiadasına hazırlığı istiqamətində AzTU-da aparılan işlər müzakirə olunub.   Olimpiadanın əhəmiyyətindən danışan rektor Vilayət Vəliyev universitetdə bu məqsədlə görülən işlər haqqında məlumat verib. Bildirib ki, bu istiqamətdə yeni strukturlar yaradılıb, istedadlı tələbələrin aşkarlanması və inkişaf etdirilməsi üçün məqsədyönlü işlər həyata keçirilib.   “Universitet Tələbələrinin Beynəlxalq Proqramlaşdırma” olimpiadasının Azərbaycan üzrə regional direktoru və koordinatoru Etibar Seyidzadə ICPC regional və final mərhələləri haqqında məlumat verib və beynəlxalq təcrübədə bu istiqamətdə atılan vacib addımları qeyd edib.    Toplantıda iştirak edən AzTU müəllimləri tələbələrin respublikadaxili, regional və beynəlxalq olimpiadalara hazırlanması üçün AzTU-da görüləcək işlər, universitetdə proqramlaşdırma və infromatika üzrə keçiriləcək yarışların formatı və digər məsələlər barədə fikirlərini bölüşüblər.   Sonda toplantı iştirakçıları İnformatika Olimpiada Mərkəzinə baxış keçiriblər.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetində (AzTU) universitet-sənaye əməkdaşlığının inkişafı məqsədilə yaradılan Texnologiya Transfer Ofisinin (TTO) təqdimatı keçirilib. Təqdimatda Müdafiə Sənayesi Nazirliyinin Milli Aerokosmik Agentliyinin baş direktoru Natiq Cavadov, “Cihaz” İB-nin direktoru Fəlah Quliyev, AzTU-nun professor-müəllim heyəti, həmçinin dövlət və özəl şirkətlərin nümayəndələri iştirak edib. Əvvəlcə tədbir iştirakçıları AzTU-da qurulan KOB Model Müəssisəsi, Mühəndis Gəliştirmə Proqramının (MGP) Emalatxanası, Texnologiya Transfer Ofisi və “Bilişim Vadisi Bakı”da görülən işlərlə tanış olublar. Tədbirdə qonaqları salamlayan AzTU-nun rektoru Vilayət Vəliyev TTO-nun əhəmiyyətindən, yaradılma zərurətindən və məqsədindən danışıb. AzTU-nun strateji məsələlər üzrə müşaviri Şəbnəm Məmmədova TTO-nun missiyası, fəaliyyət formatı və prinsipləri barədə məlumat verib. Daha sonra tədbir universitet-sənaye nümayəndələrinin müzakirələri, şirkətlərin bu prosesdən gözləntiləri və digər məsələlərlə bağlı çıxışlarla davam edib.  Məlumat üçün bildirək ki, TTO universitetlə sənaye arasında bilik, texnologiya və təcrübə mübadiləsini asanlaşdırmaq üçün platforma rolunu oynamağı planlaşdırır.

Azərbaycan Texniki Universitetinin (AzTU) Yüksək Təhsil İnstitutunun təşkilatçılığı ilə doktorantura səviyyəsi üzrə təhsil alan tələbələrlə görüş keçirilib. Görüşdə universitetin saytında  yeni yaradılan “AzTU doktorant” bölməsi haqqında doktorantlara məlumat verilib. Bundan başqa, doktorantların tədqiqat fəaliyyəti, onların universitetlə əlaqələrinin gücləndirilməsi, dissertasiya mövzularının və elmi rəhbərlərinin təyini, tədris və tədqiqat fəaliyyətinə cəlb edilməsi imkanları müzakirə olunub. Sonda doktorantları maraqlandıran suallar cavablandırılıb.  

A ceremony dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzQAC) was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, President of AzQAC and Member of Parliament Novruz Aslanov, Head of the South Caucasus Representative Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Davron Mukhammadiev, the representative of the Turkish Red Crescent in Azerbaijan, and the university's faculty and students.  The event began with the laying of floral wreaths at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the university's foyer.  At the event held at AzTU's Heydar Aliyev Center, Rector Vilayat Valiyev greeted the participants and spoke about the long-term cooperation between AzTU and AzQAC, as well as the importance of the society's humanitarian work.  Next, Novruz Aslanov, President of AzQAC and Member of Parliament, discussed the history of the society, its areas of activity, the projects it has implemented, as well as the role of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society. He then highlighted the humanitarian activities of AzQAC, particularly focusing on the health-related initiatives and their significance. During the meeting, Rector Valiyev was presented with the "100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (1920-2020)" commemorative medal.  The event continued in AzTU's auditorium with a training session on basic first aid skills. At the end of the training, students had the opportunity to ask questions.  The official part of the event concluded with performances by artists.

The SME Model Enterprise was established at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) in order to support the development of SMEs. Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Deputy Minister of Science and Education Idris Isayev got acquainted with the activities of the SME Model Enterprise. It was stated at the event attended by Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy, and Adalat Samadov, First Vice-Rector of the National Aviation Academy (MAA) that, the Model Enterprise will allow SME subjects operating in the industrial field and students intending to establish their own businesses in the future to gain experience, improve their skills, and especially develop university-entrepreneurship cooperation. It will be possible to visually observe the real business process from the initial planning to the construction of the enterprise in the Model Enterprise created by KOBIA by researching international experience. The Model Enterprise is equipped with the necessary equipment, which allows you to clearly see the operation of modern technological equipment, learn ways to save resources, time and costs. Basic knowledge about entrepreneurship will also be provided in the training auditoriums of the Model Enterprise. In order to ensure the integration of the SME Model Enterprise into the university-entrepreneurial model, the Workshop of the Engineer Development Program (MGP) established at AzTU was also introduced. It was brought to attention that MGP was created jointly with AzTU and the National Aviation Academy based on the industry-oriented program of the Turkish Aviation and Space Industry Company (TUSAŞ). It is planned within the framework of the program to train an average of 100 highly qualified engineers every year. This year, the MGP program is performed by TUSAŞ specialists. The listeners of the program are young teachers of AzTU and MAA, senior bachelor's, master's and doctoral students. Later, it was stated during the meeting with "AzTU - Technology Transfer Office" and "Information Valley Baku", that AzTU aims to create a favorable ecosystem for supporting innovation activities in the higher education system through the involvement of companies, as well as for developing ideas and practical skills of young people in this direction. In this regard, incubation and acceleration processes will also be supported.
