The delegation of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), led by Rector Professor Vilayat Valiyev, paid an official visit to Indonesia. The delegation also included AzTU’s Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Professor Subhan Namazov, and the Director of the Research and Development Department, Bakhtiyar Badalov. The primary goal of the visit was to establish and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in research, education, and innovation between AzTU and Indonesia’s leading higher education institutions, as well as to sign Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in this regard.
During the visit, the delegation toured Indonesia University, Jakarta State University, Atma Jaya Catholic University, and BINUS University. At each meeting, opportunities for scientific and academic collaboration were extensively discussed. Taking into account the priority focus areas of each university, specific cooperation fields were identified, and prospects for joint projects in the future were explored.
At Indonesia University, Rector Vilayat Valiyev emphasized AzTU’s commitment to international partnerships, particularly in joint scientific projects, student and faculty exchanges, and the organization of joint scientific conferences and seminars. The Rector of Indonesia University, Professor Ir. Heri Hermansyah, along with the vice-rectors, positively received these initiatives and expressed interest in cooperation within the fields of engineering and information technology. The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening mutual understanding and collaboration.
At the meeting held at Jakarta State University, issues such as the implementation of joint educational programs, the improvement of teaching technologies in engineering specialties, the organization of joint research, and the development of internship programs were thoroughly discussed. The meeting was attended by the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and the Rector of Jakarta State University, Professor Komarudin M. Sİ. The parties agreed to cooperate in these areas, and the partnership was formalized through a memorandum of understanding.
The delegation also visited two leading private universities in Indonesia, Atma Jaya Catholic University and BINUS University. At Atma Jaya Catholic University, they gained an in-depth understanding of the university’s teaching and innovation potential, engaging in extensive discussions about startup-oriented research and joint projects.
At BINUS University, the delegation explored experiences in artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and the commercialization of scientific research. Both parties reviewed the possibilities of applying BINUS’s advanced research platform at AzTU and agreed on collaboration in areas of mutual interest. The visit culminated with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the universities.
During the visit, Rector Professor Vilayat Valiyev highlighted that expanding AzTU’s network of international scientific research, education, and innovation partnerships and integrating into the global scientific community, especially through cooperation with Asian countries, is a key component of AzTU’s strategic development plan. He expressed confidence that these collaborations would create new opportunities for the university.
