As part of the 'Enhancing Green Skills Development' regional technical assistance project under the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) program of the Asian Development Bank, the delegation attending the second meeting of the Skills Development Working Group in Baku visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
The event is organized jointly by the Asian Development Bank, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Ministry of Science and Education.
Welcoming the foreign guests, including representatives from the ministries of science and education, as well as higher education institutions of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Georgia, Mongolia, and Pakistan, the rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, spoke about the importance of the project. He stated that the project would make a significant contribution to the application of 'Just Transition,' 'Green Skills,' and 'Climate Change-Aware Smart Agriculture Technologies' in the industries of the CAREC region countries, as well as to teaching and research activities in these fields.
During the meeting, a presentation was given on AzTU's experience in incorporating the Sustainable Development Goals into teaching and research. Following that, the guests had the opportunity to learn about the activities of AzTU's research institutes and centers.
