An Azerbaijani language school was opened in Berlin

An official opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Language School, organized with the joint support of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, the Ministry of Culture, and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Germany, was held at the Azerbaijani Culture House in Berlin.

The ceremony was attended by Elshad Aliyev, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Nasimi Aghayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany, Elmar Gasimov, Rector of Baku Higher Oil School, Gulchohra Mammadova, Rector of Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Rufat Azizov, Rector of Sumgait State University, Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), Samir Agabalayev, Head of the Apparatus of the Ministry of Defense Industry, Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), Ali Khalilov, Staff member of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Elmar Abasov, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Advertising Agency, Shahin Aliyev, Advisor to the Chairman of the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, as well as other representatives from various organizations, local and foreign guests.

Deputy Chairman Elshad Aliyev congratulated the teachers and students on the opening of the Azerbaijani language school and provided detailed information about the activities of the State Committee, its projects, Azerbaijani Houses abroad, and Coordination Councils. He noted that the establishment of Azerbaijani language schools for children living abroad, initiated by First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, plays a vital role in maintaining young generations' connection to their homeland and ensuring they learn their native language.

Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture, stated that the purpose of Azerbaijan's cultural centers abroad is to promote and implement educational programs related to the Azerbaijani language, history, literature, music, and other cultural fields. He emphasized that the opening of the Azerbaijani language class at the Cultural Center in Berlin would contribute significantly to this mission and wished the weekend school much success in its future work.

Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev, in his speech, praised the high activity of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Germany and acknowledged their valuable contributions. He emphasized the importance of continuing and strengthening these activities in a coordinated and collaborative manner, highlighting the significance of the opening of the Azerbaijani language school in Berlin.

Speakers at the event expressed gratitude to the organizers, teachers, students, and their parents for their interest in the Azerbaijani language, stressing the growing importance of language schools abroad. They noted the increasing number of Azerbaijani language schools each year.

Following the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani Language Weekend School, the official guests also attended the opening of new drum courses at the Azerbaijani Culture Center.

At the end of the event, the students of the Azerbaijani language school were presented with gifts from the State Committee for Work with Diaspora and the Ministry of Culture.
