On May 11, 2023, an agreement was signed between the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the executive authorities of Aghjabedi, Goygol and Shamkir districts for the purpose of preparation of an intra-city movement (mobility) plan. 

It should be noted that the agreement measures for the implementation of the State Program on road traffic safety in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023 approved by Decree No. 852 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 27, 2018 for the consistent implementation of sustainable development goals 22 of 2022 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in order to ensure the implementation of subsection 7.4.6.1 of the Plan 25 of January Preparation of the intra-city movement (mobility) plan provides for the implementation of works in accordance with the decision.

During the signing ceremony, the rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev, the head of Aghjabedi District Executive Authority Rafil Huseynov, the head of Goygol District Executive Authority Elvin Pashayev and the head of Shamkir District Executive Authority Rashad Taghiyev were informed that the signing of the agreement on the eve of the Great Leader 100th anniversary. It was the great Leader Haydar Aliyev who paid serious attention to the sustainable development of our cities, especially to the planned design and implementation of road networks. 

During the meetings, the project Preparation of intra-city movement (mobility) plan was launched and ideas were exchanged on the progress of the project. It was noted that the development of a mobility plan in the cities of our republic, which is rapidly integrated into the world, will significantly increase the quality of life of the population. So, the reports to be prepared will be reflected in the Intra-City Movement (Mobility) Plans on the general development of the city transport infrastructure, improvement of the work of the public transport network, increasing the safety and facilitation of pedestrian traffic, determining the direction of bicycle paths, and other road improvement measures.

Speakers emphasized that the project is the most obvious example of university-industry cooperation in business conditions created with the support of the state and evaluated it as a point of contact for student-teacher-labor market participants. Employees of Agjabedi, Goygol and Shamkir District Executive Authorities, Fuad Dashdamirov, Director of Logistics and Transport Institute of AzTU, Aynura Ismayilova, Head of University-Industry Cooperation and Lifelong Education Center participated in the meetings.

In the end, a hand-made painting by Nagiyya Rzayeva, a leading specialist of the Social Development Center of AzTU, an advanced education worker, a laureate of the Dade Gorgud award, was presented to the heads of the district executive authorities.
