A book titled “Oil of the 19th Century: The Two Titans of the USA and Azerbaijan,” co-authored by Mir-Yusif Mirbabayev, a professor at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and oil chemist, and Marius Vasiliu, an American geophysicist and author of the “Historical Dictionary of the Oil Industry,” has been published in the United States in English. 

The book discusses the history of industrial oil production across various continents. It highlights that the world’s first industrial oil well was drilled in Azerbaijan in 1846, a full 13 years before the famous Drake well in Pennsylvania. The book also provides a chronological overview of the history of oil production in both the USA and Azerbaijan. The book has received positive reviews from American experts, and plans are in place for it to be published in Azerbaijani and Russian in the future.
