A large-scale event was held in Azerbaijan for the first time as part of the International Coaching Week, held under the slogan “Inspire, Change, Flourish” by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). A series of events held annually in different countries around the world as part of the International Coaching Week aims to demonstrate the positive impact of coaching on people, organizations and societies.
It began with the the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by officials representing various fields, parliamentarians, heads of higher education institutions and leading experts in the field of coaching.
Welcoming the guests, the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev emphasized the importance of coaching in modern education and management processes, noting that this field plays an important role in both individual and organizational development.
Speaking at the event, the chairwoman of the International Coaching Federation Ebru Kaya Caymaz emphasized the role that coaching plays in revealing individual potential and in building people’s self-confidence.
ICF Events Director Ayten Shikhaliyeva also touched upon important details in the preparation and implementation of this event, stating that the local and international coaches promotes mutual learning. She expressed that this initiative will continue and that the spread of the coaching approach will greatly benefit our society.
Members of the Milli Majlis Arzu Naghiyev, Parvin Karimzadeh and Sevinj Huseynova also spoke at the event. They emphasized the importance of coaching in terms of the well-being of society, the development of education and the strengthening of human capital, and noted the importance of supporting this field.
A total of 14 speakers spoke at the event, which continued with two panel discussions and speaker speeches. The speakers included executives from public and private enterprises and well-known coaches. The panel discussions featured deep and interesting ideas on topics such as the role of coaching in individual and organizational development, leadership, motivation and change management.
During the event, the sponsors were officially thanked and their support was highly appreciated. At the end of the event, the organizers also held an interesting gift-giving ceremony among the participants. 10 participants, whose names were drawn from a glass jar based on a previously prepared list, were presented with special gifts by the sponsoring companies.
The event was met with great interest and high appreciation by the participants. This initiative of the International Coaching Federation is considered an indicator of the growing interest in the field of coaching in Azerbaijan and the development potential of this field.
