Aynura Ismayilova has been appointed as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
Prior to her appointment as the Director of the Institute of Higher Education, she served as the Director of the School of Lifelong Learning and Associate Professor of the Department of Economics and Statistics at AzTU. Aynura Ismayilova joined the AzTU team in 2021 as the Head of the Center for University-Industry Cooperation and Lifelong Learning.
She began her career in 2004 at the Institute of Cybernetics (now Management) of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. She then worked as a project manager in the Azerbaijani representative office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Ministry of Economy’s joint project “Support to Strengthening the Capacity of the Ministry of Economic Development for the Development of a Competitive Non-Oil Sector in Azerbaijan”, and later as a Department Head and Deputy Director at the Scientific Research Institute of Economic Reforms under the Ministry of Economy.
Aynura Ismayilova, who has consistently worked in the field of project management, has been the coordinator and executor of international projects of various purposes and nature for over 15 years (funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), as well as the Ministry of Science and Education (ETN), Ministry of Economy (ME), and the project leader of the 3rd grant competition for young scientists and specialists (EIF/GAM-3-2014-6(21)) with the support of the Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
In 2012-2021, she was represented in the working group on the preparation of legal and regulatory documents on the establishment of the Economic Cooperation Organization Research Center (ERC) in our country, and actively participated in the preparation of reports submitted to the Regional Planning Council of the ECO, as well as in cooperation with member countries. In 2016, he was awarded a “Gratitude” by the Minister of Finance of Kyrgyzstan for his contribution to the socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan in cooperation with the OIC.
In 2012, 2018 and 2025, he was awarded an International Exchange Scholarship at Shanghai Open University of the People's Republic of China, a Visiting Scholar at the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Development in Countries with Economic Transition (IAMO) in Germany with the financial support of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), and a Visiting Fellows at the Korean Institute for Foreign Economic Policy Research (KIEP Visiting Fellows).
In total, since 2006, he has been a participant in about 40 scientific and scientific-technical events organized in foreign countries through various scholarship programs.
During her time at AzTU, she actively participated in the continuation of the cooperation established with the Turkish Aerospace Industries Company (TUSAŞ) of the Republic of Turkey since 2022, and led the TUSAŞ-AzTU: “Highly Qualified Engineer Development Program, MGP”, “SKY Global” Exchange, “Industry-oriented graduation work - graduate projects, Lift UP” programs. She is also the coordinator of the “Preparation of Urban Mobility Plans” project implemented by AzTU.
Aynura Ismayilova, a graduate of the Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Baku State University at bachelor's and master's levels, defended her dissertation in econometrics and economic statistics in 2021 and received the title of Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, and holds an IPMA B-level certificate in project management.
On October 21, 2014, he was awarded the "Progress" medal by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev (No. 798).
