The State Service for Special Communications and Information Security of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SCSIS) held another competition in the field of cybersecurity within the first semester of the 2025–2026 academic year to assess the knowledge and skills of students studying at the bachelor's and master's levels at the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).
According to the final results, Rahimli Mahmud Samad oglu and Verdizade Omar Rufat oglu, 3rd-year students studying in the information security specialty of the Faculty of Information Technologies and Telecommunications, as well as Shukurlu Aydin Elbeyi oglu, who is studying in the security of state information systems at the master's level at the Institute of Higher Education of AzTU, were declared winners with special distinction.
The award ceremony was attended by the Deputy Head of the SCSIS, Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, Rector of AzTU, Professor Vilayat Valiyev, and other representatives. During the speeches, the importance of the existing cooperation between state agencies and higher education institutions was highlighted, and it was emphasized that training young specialists in cybersecurity is one of the strategic priorities for the state.
It was noted that within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the XRITDX and AzTU on November 5, 2022, competitions are regularly held for AzTU students and the winning students are awarded, and conditions are created for students studying in the field of information security to participate in events within the framework of the practical training program. The events carried out are of great importance in transforming students' theoretical knowledge into practical skills and strengthening the human resource potential of the cybersecurity field in the country.
Then, the representatives of XRITDX got acquainted with the modern educational infrastructure of AzTU, as well as laboratories created with the support of the Service, updated classrooms for communication and telecommunications, as well as innovative learning environments and advanced educational technologies applied.
