Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has organized the first international training for open-access academic journal editors operating in Azerbaijan.

The training program, held online, focused on working in accordance with the requirements of the international Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) platform.

Initiated by Khayala Hajiyeva, Director of AzTU’s Library Information Center and DOAJ’s representative editor for Azerbaijan, the main goal of the training was to align scientific journals published in Azerbaijan with international standards and increase the number of Azerbaijani academic journals listed in DOAJ.

Dr. Ramazan Turgut, Editor-in-Chief of DOAJ, addressed international criteria, application procedures for the platform, preparation of legal documentation, common mistakes, and key points to pay attention to. Representatives from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Baku State University, National Aviation Academy, Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Arts, and Mingachevir State University participated in the training.

At the end, participants’ questions were answered.

It should be noted that such international training sessions, initiated by AzTU, will be held regularly.
