A cooperation agreement has been signed between the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the company “Aqualink.” According to the agreement, the company will establish a “Water Research and Training” laboratory at AzTU. Students who wish to become professional water engineers will be able to conduct various research projects in the laboratory.
Additionally, the agreement includes provisions for students to undergo industrial internships in projects implemented by Aqualink, receive training from specialists of the company’s international partners, and participate in industry-based scientific research.
During the event, the rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, stated that the protection of water bodies from pollution, their purification, the provision of clean and high-quality water to the population, and the recycling of wastewater are among the most pressing issues today. There is a growing need in the labor market for professional water engineers. AzTU places great importance on developing university-industry collaboration to train specialists who meet labor market demands. The cooperation with Aqualink is a continuation of these efforts.
Orkhan Mikayil, the director of Aqualink, noted that the company has been operating since 2010 and has implemented more than 200 large-scale projects during this period. Specializing in professional water engineering and chemical solutions, Aqualink is an Azerbaijani brand that has now become a regional company. “We cooperate with more than 50 renowned companies worldwide. Unfortunately, due to the shortage of local professionals, we have to rely on foreign experts. Therefore, both as a matter of social responsibility and for the sustainable development of our business, we are committed to training local specialists,” the company director said.
