AzTU Evaluates Annual Performance of Faculties and Departments
Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the annual performance of its faculties and academic departments as part of its ongoing efforts to digitalize quality assurance processes, strengthen institutional monitoring, and enhance results-oriented management practices.
As part of this initiative, faculties and academic departments submitted their annual performance reports for the 2025–2026 academic year through an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered digital platform, based on their previously approved annual action plans.
The University's Quality Assurance Department conducted a systematic analysis of the alignment between the approved action plans and the submitted performance reports using the capabilities of the digital platform. The evaluation focused on the implementation status of planned activities, the achievement of established objectives, and the assessment of actual performance outcomes.
The integration of AI-powered analytical tools facilitated the systematic organization of reported data, comparison of planned and implemented activities, and identification of discrepancies, implementation gaps, and areas requiring further improvement.
Following the monitoring and evaluation process, the identified shortcomings and areas for improvement were discussed with the relevant faculties and academic departments. Recommendations were provided to enhance operational effectiveness, strengthen accountability mechanisms, and address the identified gaps.
Furthermore, the evaluation findings were recommended for integration into the 2026–2027 academic year's action plans, with particular emphasis on establishing specific and measurable performance indicators, clearly defined implementation timelines, and outcome-oriented objectives.
The implementation of the AI-powered digital platform represents an important step in AzTU's digital transformation of quality assurance processes. It contributes to strengthening evidence-based decision-making, improving institutional monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, and ensuring a more systematic approach to performance management.
This initiative also supports the institutional implementation of the PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle, promoting a continuous improvement approach in which planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation are systematically interconnected. By incorporating evaluation findings into subsequent planning cycles, AzTU aims to enhance institutional accountability, strengthen its internal quality assurance system, and further develop a sustainable culture of quality across the University.
