The opening ceremony of the 11th Republican Scientific and Technical Conference titled “Advanced Technologies and Innovations,” dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev, was held at Azerbaijan Technical University.

Scientists and researchers from higher education institutions, as well as representatives of the industrial sector, participated in the opening ceremony. The wide range of participants once again demonstrated the growing scientific reputation of the conference and its importance in terms of international cooperation.

Welcoming the participants, the Rector of AzTU, Vilayat Valiyev, noted that this traditional scientific platform continues to develop each year and is expanding in scale. In his speech, he emphasized the necessity for research results not to remain only at the theoretical level, but to be applied in practice through innovative solutions in the real sector.

Speaking as an honorary guest, AzTU alumnus and Deputy Chief of the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security, Major General Allahveran Ismayilov, highlighted the importance of the conference and stressed the need to support scientific initiatives in the fields of national security and information technologies.

During the plenary session, reports were presented on modern and relevant scientific directions. Makhbuba Ibrahimli, a master’s student of the Department of Radio Engineering and Telecommunications Technologies, presented a report titled “GPON Networks and the Study of Their Integration into IMS Systems,” while Agha Aghayev, assistant at the Department of Cybersecurity, delivered a presentation on “A Unique Pair: Cryptography and Artificial Intelligence.”

It was noted that this year the geographical scope of the conference has significantly expanded, with scientific papers submitted from the United States, Hungary, Germany, and Türkiye, further strengthening its international status.
