Ayhan Akanay Saracoğlu, Elsevier’s representative for Türkiye and Central Asian countries, and Saida Sak, the company’s official representative in Azerbaijan, visited Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and met with Rector Vilayat Valiyev.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the capabilities of the SciVal platform, which supports the evaluation and analytical assessment of the research activities of academic staff and researchers.

Based on Scopus data, SciVal enables in-depth analysis of research performance across various indicators. The participants emphasized the importance of strengthening academic staff members’ and researchers’ knowledge and skills in using the platform’s functionalities.

Following the meeting, Saida Sak conducted a training session for AzTU academic staff on using SciVal.

The training covered the platform’s main modules, methods for analyzing research productivity and citation indicators, comparative analysis at the author, institutional, and country levels, and mechanisms for assessing international research collaboration. The platform’s functionalities were also demonstrated through practical examples, and participants’ questions were addressed in detail.

Such training sessions play an important role in advancing research at AzTU, expanding the use of modern analytical tools, and improving the quality of research outcomes.
