An awareness-raising event titled “Say No to Drug Addiction!” was held for students at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) as part of the implementation of the Action Plan under the State Program on Combating the Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors, and Drug Addiction for 2025–2030.
Mehti Namazov, an employee of AzTU’s Communications Department, emphasized the importance of every member of society participating in the fight against drug addiction.
Büllur Mammadova, Chair of the Public Union “Youth Anti-Drug Addiction,” highlighted that drug addiction poses a serious threat to the future of society and stressed that raising awareness is essential to protecting young people from this danger. She also noted that government institutions, law enforcement agencies, and the public are working together to combat drug addiction.
Najiba Guliyeva, a general practitioner at AzTU’s No. 1 Student Polyclinic, spoke about the harmful effects of drug addiction and emphasized that a healthy lifestyle is one of the most effective ways to prevent it.
During the event, a video highlighting the harmful effects of drug addiction on human life and health was screened. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session with students.
