A delegation led by Vilayat Valiyev, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), visited Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, which is managed by the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones (ADEZ) under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Hacı Ali Mantar, Rector of Gebze Technical University in Türkiye, also took part in the visit.
Seymur Adigozalov, Chairman of the Management Board of ADEZ, provided the delegation with detailed information about the Agency’s activities, comprehensive measures to develop industrial zones in Azerbaijan, and the favourable business and investment environment established for local and foreign investors.
It was noted that tax and customs incentives for industrial park residents, ready-to-use infrastructure, logistics opportunities, and government support mechanisms make a significant contribution to the development of the country’s non-oil sector, expansion of export potential, and creation of new jobs.
The meeting also addressed opportunities to strengthen cooperation between higher education institutions and industrial enterprises, implement joint research and innovation projects, train specialists, and facilitate knowledge exchange.
The delegation then visited enterprises operating within Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park and observed their production processes. Representatives provided detailed information about production management, quality control mechanisms, and export opportunities at Kartash Kimya LLC and Azerfloat CJSC.
The delegation praised the favourable business environment and modern infrastructure at Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park, emphasizing the importance of such industrial zones in expanding regional economic cooperation.
