GENERAL INFORMATION
The AzTU Student Trade Union Committee (STUC) is the only state-registered student organization at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). It ensures the social protection of students, safeguards their rights, works to improve their welfare, organizes their leisure time effectively, and supports their personal development. Students represent the most active, energetic, and creative segment of youth, and a structure that understands, supports, and unites them is crucial to guide this energy in the right direction. STUC is precisely the institution that fulfills this mission and serves as the main body conveying students’ voices to the university’s management system.
POSITION AND ROLE
- STUC faculty representatives are members of the respective faculty Scientific Councils.
- The STUC chairperson is a full-fledged member of the AzTU Scientific Council, representing students in decision-making processes.
- In all official decisions related to students, STUC’s opinion is taken into consideration, and student interests are protected.
AREAS OF ACTIVITY
- Social Support and Legal Protection
- Protecting students’ social, economic, and legal interests and supporting their social welfare;
- Organizing assistance for students who are studying but face financial difficulties;
- Exploring educational, employment, and development opportunities, as well as providing awareness and guidance in these areas;
- Serving as a liaison between the university administration and students, mediating in solving any issues that arise;
- Organizing various activities to ensure the efficient use of leisure time.
- Cultural-Mass and Entertainment Events
- Organizing national celebrations, especially Novruz festivities, New Year events, and other holiday activities;
- Holding Student Days, musical concerts, creative evenings, and cultural-mass projects.
- Awareness-Raising Projects and Trainings
- Conducting trainings and seminars on leadership, communication, teamwork, and personal development;
- Organizing regular seminars, panels, and roundtable discussions on mental health, law, career development, and other relevant topics.
- Intellectual and Sports Events
- Holding “What? Where? When?” and other intellectual competitions;
- Organizing tournaments in football, volleyball, basketball, chess, and other sports.
- Summer-Winter Camps and Trips
- Arranging excursions and camps in various regions of the country;
- Conducting events designed to provide rest, socialization, and the formation of new friendships among students, all in a motivating format.
- Volunteering and Social Initiatives
- Organizing charity campaigns for families in need, orphanages, retirement homes, and other social groups;
- Carrying out environmental protection actions and nature conservation projects;
- Holding meetings with children and the elderly, promoting social responsibility, and advocating volunteerism through various activities.
HOW TO JOIN STUC
- Every student studying at AzTU is voluntarily recognized as a member of STUC.
- Students who wish to actively participate in the committee’s activities, assist in organizing events, or propose new ideas can contact their faculty STUC representatives or visit the Committee’s office directly.
