The project prepared under the coordination of AzTU was declared the winner by the European Commission

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has achieved another significant success.

The “Enhancing monitoring and management capacities of Higher Education Institutions on optical networks and optical communication in Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan” project, coordinated by AzTU and titled “OPTIFY”, has been selected as a winner by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ program (ERASMUS-EDU-2024-CBHE-STRAND-2).

As part of the project, a new master’s degree program will be launched in Azerbaijan focusing on the monitoring and management of expanding optical networks. The program will aim to train specialists with modern competencies and skills in this field, and academic staff will receive training on the latest content and teaching methods at leading European higher education institutions.

Additionally, a new teaching laboratory will be established at the partner universities involved in the project, and relevant educational modules for the industry will be developed.

The project partners in Azerbaijan include the Ministry of Science and Education, Baku Engineering University, the National Aviation Academy, and Azerbaijan University of Technology. The consortium also includes four partner universities from European Commission program countries, three from Kazakhstan, and three from Georgia.
