A ceremony dedicated to the 104th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (AzQAC) was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, President of AzQAC and Member of Parliament Novruz Aslanov, Head of the South Caucasus Representative Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Davron Mukhammadiev, the representative of the Turkish Red Crescent in Azerbaijan, and the university’s faculty and students.
The event began with the laying of floral wreaths at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the university’s foyer.
At the event held at AzTU’s Heydar Aliyev Center, Rector Vilayat Valiyev greeted the participants and spoke about the long-term cooperation between AzTU and AzQAC, as well as the importance of the society’s humanitarian work.
Next, Novruz Aslanov, President of AzQAC and Member of Parliament, discussed the history of the society, its areas of activity, the projects it has implemented, as well as the role of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society. He then highlighted the humanitarian activities of AzQAC, particularly focusing on the health-related initiatives and their significance. During the meeting, Rector Valiyev was presented with the “100th Anniversary of the Azerbaijan Red Crescent Society (1920-2020)” commemorative medal.
The event continued in AzTU’s auditorium with a training session on basic first aid skills. At the end of the training, students had the opportunity to ask questions.
The official part of the event concluded with performances by artists.
