Sustainable Food Sourcing Policy
 
The Sustainable Food Sourcing Policy aims to promote responsible and sustainable food procurement practices across Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The Policy establishes a framework for ensuring that food products and ingredients purchased and served across the University are sourced through environmentally responsible agricultural practices, with particular emphasis on soil health, biodiversity conservation, responsible water use, and the controlled use of agricultural inputs. It supports sustainable supplier selection, product traceability, local and seasonal purchasing, and the integration of environmental, social, and ethical criteria into food procurement and catering contracts. The Policy also encourages responsible food resource management, waste prevention, and continuous monitoring of sustainable sourcing performance, reflecting AzTU’s commitment to sustainable consumption and production, environmental protection, and the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDGs 2, 12 and 15.
