On January 16, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) hosted an event titled “From Education to Progress,” organized by the Education Development Fund. The event was attended by government officials, university rectors, and representatives from the private sector. In his opening speech, Elnur Nasibov, the Chairman of the Board of the Education Development Fund, emphasized that the event aimed to inform attendees about the Fund’s ongoing projects and its future activities, as well as to encourage more collaboration between government, private institutions, and universities. He provided an overview of the Fund’s achievements in 2023 and invited government and private sector organizations to engage in closer cooperation in the future. Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) has implemented another project in the direction of creating sustainable energy sources. Thus, a 2 kW solar power plant, consisting of four modern solar panels with a capacity of 500 watts each, was put into use in the yard of the university. Students studying in the field of renewable energy at AzTU will get acquainted with the working principle of the station and acquire practical skills. It should be recalled that in July of the current year, wind installations were put into use in the yard of the university for the continuous improvement of knowledge and skills in the teaching of green energy technologies and the training of highly qualified personnel in the field of energy .

Trainers of IDTECH Academy have been trained on “Professions of the Future” at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). In the training, necessary information about IT, cyber security and programming was brought to the attention of the students. Detailed information was also given about job opportunities in the mentioned fields, obtaining and importance of international certificates. At the end of the training, the students’ questions were answered.

An educational event dedicated to the fight against human trafficking was held under the organization of the Student Trade Union Committee (THIK) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). The event was attended by police lieutenant colonel Ibrahim Ahmadov, employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Anti-Trafficking Directorate, police lieutenant colonel Aytekin Najafova, police lieutenant Ruslan Valiyev and students of the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. During the meeting, information was given on the work done in the framework of anti-trafficking measures in our country, methods of identification of victims of human trafficking. It was reported that victims of the crime of human trafficking, probable victims and potential victims of human trafficking can apply to 152 “Hotline” operating in the General Office for Combating Human Trafficking. In the end, the students’ questions were answered.

A seminar on anti-drug addiction was held for students under the organization of Student Youth Organization (STU) of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU).   Gamar Isayeva, director of AzTU’s Social Development Center, speaking at the seminar, said that drug addiction has become the most terrible scourge of mankind. Seminars on anti-drug addiction are regularly organized at the university in order to educate young people about this problem, which seriously worries the world. Police Major Kamran Mayilov, Commissioner of the Chief Anti-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), spoke about the effects of drug addiction on humanity. A training on “Basic life support” was held under the organization of TGTs of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Baku Medical College No. 1 (1BTK). First, the dear memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev and the sons of the Motherland who died for the sake of the territorial integrity of our lands was commemorated with a minute’s silence. AzTU TGT chairman Ruslan Ganbarov and 1BTK TGT chairman Elnur Hasanbayli gave detailed information to the students about the training. It was noted that every person, in addition to developing knowledge and skills, should also take care of his health and know the necessary information about first aid. Later, the college staff gave information about the first aid given to the patient during drowning, venous bleeding, epileptic seizures and other dangerous situations. Organized by the Department of Economics and Statistics of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), “What is the profession of human resources management?” for students studying in the 3rd and 4th year of the management specialty, as well as masters studying in the MBA program. An online webinar was held on the subject.   Laura Hamidova, the founder of “Fireworks” company, trainer for the SHRM International Certification program, brought to the attention of the students the nuances that should be paid attention to when building a successful career, the rules of behavior at the interview stage, important points in preparing a CV form and other information. In addition, methods of obtaining competencies and certificates necessary for students who want to work in the direction of human resources have also been brought to attention. At the end of the webinar, students’ questions were answered.

A literary and artistic event dedicated to the 3rd year of the 44-day Patriotic War was held with the support of the Youth Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the organization of the Public Union “Support to the Education of Youth”, and the partnership of the Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU). Gadir Khalilov, the executive director of the Youth Fund, and Jeyhun Mammadov, deputy of the parliament, spoke at the event. It was reported that under the leadership of the Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army liberated our lands occupied by the enemy for 30 years. The glorious Victory won in the 44-day war proved to the whole world that Azerbaijan is a winner on both the political and military levels. The event continued with musical numbers.
