On the initiative of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), a panel discussion on “Automation and robotics in the field of defense: prospects and challenges” will be held on September 24 within the framework of the “ADEX 2024” exhibition. Rector of Ankara University, Professor Nejdet Unuvar, met AzTU students admitted to Ankara University and Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) dual degree program in Computer Engineering in 2022. He said that according to the protocol signed with AzTU in 2021, students will continue their studies at Ankara University from the 2024-2025 academic year. The rector noted that students who finish the educational program will have a double diploma, which will make important contributions to their future activities. Associate Professor Najiba Nasibova, adviser on educational issues of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Turkey, who participated in the meeting, wished success in their studies to AzTU students who will study at Ankara University. After the speeches, Rector Nejdet Unuvar and Education Advisor Najiba Nasibova cut a cake together with the students.

Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) successfully continues cooperating with Turkey’s Sakarya University of Applied Sciences within the framework of the “Erasmus+” exchange program. Within the framework of cooperation, Meltem Eyüboğlu Ozjan, a teacher of the Department of Electronics and Automation Engineering of the Vocational School of Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, visited AzTU. The guest who met the academic staff of the Mechatronics department of AzTU got acquainted with the teaching infrastructure, technical base and laboratories of the department and discussed the implementation of joint projects. Meltem Eyüboğlu Özcan gave a lecture on “Robotics Concepts” and “Automation of Robotic Processes” to the students of Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering of AzTU.

Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev met the regional director of “Quacquarelli Symonds” (QS) Sergey Khristolyubov. The Rector emphasized the importance of the contract to be signed for increasing AzTU’s international competitiveness in world rankings. He noted that the main priorities of the university are the improvement of academic indicators, the increase of publications in scientific databases, and the training of personnel in accordance with the requirements of the labor market. Rector also spoke about the importance of cooperation with QS. Sergey Khristolyubov, regional director of QS, said that special attention is paid to increasing AzTU’s global competitiveness and advancement in international rankings. Later, a cooperation agreement was signed between AzTU and QS. Within the framework of the agreement, it was agreed to increase AzTU’s global competitiveness, expand its recognition in the international arena, and strengthen its reputation.

Knowledge Day was celebrated for the students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Turkiye-Azerbaijan University (TAU). At the event organized at AzTU, first, flowers were placed in front of the bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev in the lobby of the university. Later, the dear memory of the sons of the Motherland, who died for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of our lands, was commemorated with a minute’s silence. The national anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were played. Greeting the students, Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev wished them success in their studies and activities. “AzMobility” team of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) was represented by “Smart traffic light” project at “TEKNOFEST-2024” held in Antalya, Turkey on September 5-8. The composition of the “AzMobility” team includes Fuad Dashdamirov, director of the Institute of Logistics and Transport, employees of the institute Turan Verdiyev, Ulvi Javadli, Royal Allahverdiyev, AzTU doctoral student Nuru Dashdemirli. Our team participated in the final stage of the “Smart (smart) transport” competition of “TEKNOFEST-2024” in the “University and higher level” category. The main goal of the project is the effective application of modern information technologies to minimize the delay times at road junctions. The project presented by the team was received with interest by many viewers who visited the ANFAŞ Antalya expo center. On September 6-8, a “summer school” was organized by the Republican Committee of the Free Trade Union of Azerbaijan Education Workers. 120 students of higher education institutions who are trade union activists, chairmen of student trade union committees and media representatives participated in the “summer school” organized in the “Tahsil” Recreation Center located in Nabran settlement of Khachmaz district. At the event, AzTU was represented by Mirmohammed Alakbarli-the chairman of the Committee of the Free Trade Union of Students  and activists. A conference on “Healthy people and sustainable future” was held on September 7 as part of the “Summer School”. 6 students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) will study abroad in the framework of the “Erasmus+ KA171” exchange program in the fall semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Thus, Mir Ismail Sadigov and Ziyad Muradov, second-year students of the Faculty of Information and Telecommunication Technologies, are at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy, Nihad Bekirli and Huseyin Murtuzov, third-year students of the same faculty, are at Istanbul Gedik University and Atatürk University, respectively, Vagif, a third-year student of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics. Hashimov at the Rzeszow University of Technology in Poland, Shukur Aliyev, a master’s student at the Institute of Higher Education, at the Technical University of Brandenburg, Germany for one semester have earned the right. Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev met with the students and wished them success in their studies and future activities.  

A cooperation agreement was signed between Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and Education Development Fund (EDF) within the framework of the “Student Plus” project. The adminstration of AzTU and EDF, representatives of Kapital Bank took part in the signing ceremony. Rector of AzTU Vilayat Valiyev said that the “Student Plus” card will be one of the most important projects for students and thanked the foundation for such an initiative. Elnur Nasibov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of TIF, said that all students can take advantage of the concessions and discounts applied on the project. Within the framework of the project, 150,000 student cards are initially planned to be put into use.  

 “Summer school” called “Development of Engineering Skills in Multicultural Conditions” has started its work under the organization of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) “Go East” program. “Summer school” hosted by AzTU will last until September 14. A special two-week program brought together 18 students from Azerbaijan and Germany to expand their knowledge in the field of engineering and acquire practical skills in real work conditions. 8 students from various German universities and 10 students from AzTU participated in the “Summer School”. During two weeks, students will participate in various seminars, work as a team on various projects based on the 3D (Design, Fix and Run) working principle at AzTU’s MGP Workshop – 3D Printer Center equipped with modern technologies.
