AzTU employees visited Italy within the DIRNA project

As part of the “Erasmus+ KA2” program, Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) participated in the “Development of Research Potential through Institutional Repositories (Digital Archives) Network in Azerbaijan” (DIRNA) project, and a visit was made to the University of L’Aquila in Italy.

Khayala Hajiyeva, Director of the Library and Information Center (KIM), and Ilfat Ibrahimov, Senior Consultant on Library Systems and Digitization Processes, who participated in training sessions organized by the leadership of the University of L’Aquila’s Academic Library, represented AzTU during the visit.

The training covered the implementation of the “Open Science” and “Open Access” initiatives at Italian universities, with presentations on the activities of the L’Aquila University library in these areas.

Sessions were also held on the university library’s digital repository, its technical infrastructure and management panel, and the management of metadata according to international standards and protocols. Furthermore, discussions were held regarding the selection and establishment of the repository system for the project, the use of international protocols and standards during system implementation, and the formation of metadata.

Participants also visited the university’s libraries in the humanities and engineering faculties as a part of the program.

Certificates were presented to the participants at the end of the visit.
