President Ilham Aliyev’s initiatives to designate 2024 as a year of solidarity for the “Green World” and to host COP29 in Azerbaijan will foster an environment conducive to enhancing the involvement of young people in environmental initiatives. Professor Vilayat Valiyev, the rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, made this statement during his address at the conference held on April 15, focusing on “COP Requirements: Climate Change and Resilience to Natural Disasters.”
V. Valiyev remarked that the conference convened at Azerbaijan Technical University holds significant importance. It is imperative to underscore our country’s initiatives in this domain and the consequential measures.
“COP29 stands as a pivotal conference globally, addressing paramount topics such as nature conservation, environmental sustainability, green infrastructure, biodiversity, and renewable energy. Hosting this international event in our nation presents extensive opportunities for youth while underscoring the significance of international collaborative efforts and cooperation among young individuals.”
