On March 1, 2024, a ceremony dedicated to World Civil Defense Day was held at Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU), organized by the Civil Defense Organization Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES). The event, themed “Innovative Technologies in Civil Defense,” brought together officials responsible for civil defense from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, relevant ministries, state authorities, members of emergency commissions from regional executive bodies, representatives from international organizations, and members of the Public Council of the MES. The ceremony began with the participants laying wreaths at the bust of national leader Heydar Aliyev and paying their respects to his cherished memory. As part of its visit to Türkiye, a delegation led by the Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) Vilayat Valiyev met with the Rector of Hacettepe University, Professor Mehmet Cahit Guran, and representatives of the university on March 1. Within the framework of the meeting, AzTU and Hacettepe University have signed an agreement on joint collaboration in training and research, especially in lifelong learning. Under the agreement, AzTU will benefit from Hacettepe University’s experience in the field of lifelong learning, and the universities will establish an education platform for the specialties required in the labor market of both countries. It is important to note that the delegation led by the Rector of AzTU includes Vice-Rector for International Relations Fariz Mammadov and the Director of the Lifelong Learning School, Aynura Ismayilova.
