The republican scientific-practical conference “Current Problems of Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics” was held jointly organized by the Institute of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ETN), the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SSS), Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) and the Association of Cybersecurity Organizations of Azerbaijan (AKTA).

Speaking at the event, Vice-President of ANAS, Director General of the Institute of Information Technologies, Academician Rasim Alguliyev noted that digitalization, innovation, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity have been identified as key priorities in the future development of our country. The report also noted that thanks to the special attention and direct leadership of Mr. President Ilham Aliyev to this area, digital transformation in public administration has deepened, the strategic importance of the relevant area, personnel training is supported by scientific potential, as well as consistent and purposeful measures have been implemented to ensure cyber sovereignty.

Deputy Chairman of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ziyafat Asgarov, touching upon the strategic role of digital technologies in national security and economic sustainability, noted that the development of modern curricula in higher education institutions is a requirement of the time and that the conference will make a significant contribution to cooperation.

First Deputy Head of the State Service for Special Communications and Information Security (SCIS) Yashar Ameshov noted that the prevention of cybercrime and reliable protection of critical information infrastructure are priorities for state security.

Head of the Heydar Aliyev Academy of the State Security Service Elshad Nasirov, speaking about new cyber risks created by innovative solutions, explained that the correct acquisition of digital evidence plays a decisive role in solving crimes.

Also speaking at the event were AzTU Rector Vilayat Valiyev, Head of the National Cybersecurity Center of the State Security Service Davud Rustamov, Deputy Rector of the National Defense University Arif Hasanov, AKTA Executive Director Rauf Jabbarov, and President of the Azerbaijan Internet Forum Osman Gunduz, emphasizing the need for joint activities of science, educational institutions, as well as relevant state agencies to protect state information systems and combat digital crime in the face of growing cyber threats.

The conference continued its work with section meetings.
